Background :
The steam from the horses rises into the air. The sweat which lathers their
flanks is cooled sharply as the icy wind rushes by. Snow and mud are kicked
up in the wake of the riders' passage. Through the night they urge their
  weary mounts.
Let's hope we're not too late!
Already, the horizon begins to glow, the sun shortly to rise above the
hilltops. Morning comes. Many still lie asleep in their beds. ...We hope.
"Quickly men! We are almost there."
It was about this time yesterday that Lord Lothar had been awakened from his
own restful slumber, to be told of Hillsbrad's capture. After the spilling
of much blood, (fortunately not too much of his own) the Rebellion was
vanquished and order restored. With the Duke dead, Sire Uther Lightbringer
has been appointed to govern in his stead. Even the leader of the Rebellion
was taken alive. However, not all their problems have been dealt with.
"His name is Yaedik. It took alot of effort just to get that information
from him, but we... how shall I say... can be very persuasive. He kept
saying that this was just the first step. That was all we could extract
before he lost consciousness. However we found his servant to be far more
cooperative. Apparently someone of high standing assisted in the gathering
of the Rebellion, although he didn't know the identity of this benefactor.
He organised and supported the Hillsbrad capture as a decoy for his true
purpose -- an attack planned on King Terenas himself!
"Men known to the king and his guards are going to sneak in during the night
and assassinate him. In the absence of the king, many of these traitors
will rise to higher stations and gain greater control over the people,
furthering their own personal agendas. They have a sizeable force, and no
doubt will stand in readiness should their assassins be discovered, taking
the castle by battle if required. They will make their attempt while the
keep and its king are fast asleep..."
Riding swiftly through the trees, branches whipping as they pass, Lord
Lothar and his men top the final hill. There below stands the castle,
silent and still but for a faint wisps of smoke rising from a few chimneys.
And down to the west, garbed for battle, stand the traitors' army.
One of the horses lets out a shrill whinny, clouds of steam pouring from its
nostrils like the breath of a dragon. The army below have heard the sound
and all turn as one towards our direction.
"Over there! Get them!!" The silence of dawn is shattered by the sounds of
men rushing out to stop us from reaching the castle.
Lothar cries out once more above the din before charging ahead. "We must
rouse the keep and the barracks. Do not let them die in their beds! At all
  costs protect the king..."
The castle is only a few more lengths away, but the army is closing and they
  are many.

Note: the king is represented by the footman robed in royal violet.
You must destroy the traitors to be victorious, and make sure Lothar lives
  to tell the tale!
