Background :
  The king is dead!
So, too, are his assassins and the Rebellion. However this knowledge brings
  little satisfaction.
  Too late...
Eryll Terenas, son of the great king, will rise and take his father's place.
After giving what comfort he could, he informed the grieving prince of the
assassination plot, and warning of the possibility that some highly
stationed people may have been involved in the conspiracy. Finally Anduin
Lothar and his men take their leave. Turning homeward for much needed
recuperation, Lothar vows to discover the mastermind behind the plot. Good
King Terenas must rest in peace, avenged! Yaedik will talk, even if he has
to do it without a tongue.

Great shouts ring out, and a loud banging echoes from around the cliffs.
Lothar and his men pull up, gathering in a tight circle, looking anxiously
around. Suddenly green-skinned creatures come charging down the mountain-
sides toward the party, waving weapons in the air and screaming!
Orcs!! How could this be? They were destroyed in the Great War. Where
have they come from? A knight falls from his horse, an orcish hatchet
  buried in his skull.
"With me! Ride!" Lothar rallies his men, charging down the pass. There
ahead, more orcs stand in their path. Where to run? Lothar breaks from the
canyon trail, riding up the mountainside, following an old goat track. More
men scream and then fall. Up ahead, rough timbers line an opening in the
rock wall. The Dark Mine. "Follow me!" Leaning alongside his racing
horse, he clears the low entrance and charges into blackness. A million
thoughts speeding through his mind, his heart beating rapidly and loudly in
his ears. I must focus. We will make our stand here. The narrow entrance
will stop them from overwhelming us, and while they try to see in the dark,
we will see them clearly outlined in the light. The hunted party charged
after Lothar towards the abandoned gold mine.
Overhead a great cracking noise resounded, followed by a mighty rumbling.
Stones cascaded down the cliff, pouring down at the mine entrance. Several
men are caught by the descending boulders, one knocked from his horse,
another with his leg crushed, all screaming.
  "Avalanche!"
Trapped in the Dark Mine, Lothar and the few remaining soldiers cough and
splutter as dust fills the tunnel. Not everyone was as lucky, however.
Faint cries can still be heard. Those who did not reach the mine have been
caught by the orcs. Perhaps a quick death would be better than a slow one,
swallowed up by the earth itself. The spark from a flint is used to ignite a
torch. The passage continues deeper into the mountain.
The orcs will pay for this. We will not go down this way. We will free
ourselves, and then find their hiding places and destroy them all. They
will not be returning again from where I am going to send them.

You must free Lothar and his men, and return vengeance upon the Orcish
Hordes. Ensure Lord Lothar lives to savour his revenge.
