                         /=====================\
                         | 2. PIG FILE VERSION |
                         \=====================/

Descent Mission builder allows you to edit descent levels even if you
don't have the game Descent installed on your computer. The drawback
is that you will will not be able to view the textures if the game is
not installed. Descent Mission Builder looks for the file called
DESCENT.PIG which contains the graphic files for the game's textures.
If this file is not found, select Preferences from the File menu and
set the 'PIG directory' to the game's directory.

In order to see the wall textures, you will need to have version 1.4a
or higher of the descent.pig file. If you have an older version of
descent, then you should run the upgrade patch on the game. The
upgrade patch is located on the Descent Mission Builder disk.

You do not need to upgrade your version of descent, but you will be
unable to view the texture graphics from within Descent Mission Builder.
Although, the missions created with Descent Mission Builder are
compatable with all version of the origional game Descent.

DESCENT II NOTES:

Descent II uses several pig files. The Mission Builder requires that
these be available. You should make sure that Descent II has been
installed with the MEDIUM install or greater. This will insure that
all the pig files are installed into the Descent directory. As levels
are loaded into the Mission Builder, the pig file set in the preferences
will automatically be changes to reflect the current level.
