CONVERT LIMITATIONS

The conversion of characters from "Lord of the Rings, Volume One" to
  "The Two Towers" has limitations.

  1) only characters who were in the party when the game was saved will
     be converted.
  2) characteristics and transferable items will be converted, but skills
that were acquired in "Lord of the Rings, Volume One" will not be.
  3) Due to plot considerations, Gandalf is not convertable between "Lord
of the Rings, Volume One" and "The Two Towers".

INTERFACE

As mentioned in the "Two Towers" manual, clicking on the character's
name in the Use, Skill, or Spell displays will cycle the display to
show the items, skills, or spells of the next character. To go back
to the previous character, click on the arrow that is on the left
  side of the name.

NOTES ON THE MUSIC:

- The Roland version of the music takes full advantage of the LAPC-1.
Due to some internal differences between the MT-32 and LAPC-1, you
might not be able to hear the music properly on an MT-32. The music
has never been tested on a Roland Soundcanvas.

- The music takes advantage of the stereo capabilities of the Soundblaster
  Pro and the Pro-Audio-Spectrum.

- If the music plays too soft on the Soundblaster Pro or the Pro-Audio-
Spectrum, please use the software supplied with the soundcard to set
  the master volume.

- If you are using a Soundblaster Pro, make sure you set the configuration
for your soundcard in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Depending on your card-
configuration (dip-switch settings), an example can look like this:

  SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 T1

Please refer to your DOS manual on how to modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT
file. If you have other Sound Blaster problems, and are advised by the
program that your setting is incorrect, see below.

- We have attempted to synch the title tune with the opening cartoon in
this game. Machines with a speed of 16 MHz or slower may become slightly
  out of synch.

-SoundBlaster

To properly use sound in this game a function must be added to your
autoexec.bat file. It may vary from card to card but for most Soundblaster
  cards would look like such:

        set blaster=A220 I7 D1 T1

The game defaults to I/O 220, IRQ 7, DMA 1.
If your card has these settings it will not be necessary to make the
  changes.

This is consistent with the standard factory settings on the card. But
if you have changed the settings on your card here is a key for each item.

A=I/O Address (it can between 200 and 280. Factory default is 220)
I=IRQ (Can be 2,3,5,7,10. Factory default is 7)
D=DMA (Can be 0,1,3 Factory default is 1)
T=Chipset (All cards are 1 except some recent models of SBPro which
can be set for 2 or 3.)

Once entering this into your AUTOEXEC.BAT and saving it, you must reboot your
computer and may then proceed to play. Please refer to your DOS manual on how
 to modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT.

-Thunder Card and other SoundBlaster Compatible cards -
The modifications to the AUTOEXEC.BAT for the SoundBlaster are also
necessary for your cards. The game defaults to I/O 220, IRQ 7, DMA 1.
If your card has these settings it will not be necessary to make the
changes. Unfortunately even if all the proper settings are made
once in a while it may not detect your card. If this happens please
try to start the game again and it should succeed. If this problem
continues to occur without starting please contact our customer
   service department.
