Ppsspp is still to this day the best emulator on android.

I used play games on it alot back in 2017 gave decent performance. But recently went back to it. And oh boy the performance has jumped since smartphones have gotten better. Was playing God of war at 60fps.

Just wanted to share my success story on trying to fit 4 drives inside this mini pc. If you populate the second M.2 slot the SSD 2.5 caddy will no longer fit and it will sit on top of the M.2 drive. Luckily someone already created a 3d model for an adapted caddy that solves the problem. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6504445 Then I decided to reuse the wireless m2 slot to hold a nvme for boot. Then I decided to reuse the wireless m2 slot to hold a nvme for boot. I bought a couple of adapters, but the one that really worked without any problem was this one which has the best build quality by far.

Read/write speeds are according to my expectation since it's only using 1 pcie lane, around 800+MB/s.

Temperatures (with cover) are fine, even on full load.

BIOS settings are pretty much the factory ones.

Specs:

i7 8700T

32GB DDR4 2400mhz

WD SN270 2TB (nvme 1)

Transcend MTE220S 2TB (nvme 2)

Crucial MX500 2TB (SATA)

Samsung PM991 (nvme 3)

is AMD bringing new ryzen 8000u or can g series be used?

Since there are no news on a u series refresh, can the g series be used for light desktop use and enjoy the better gaming performance? How much more power does the 8600g draw at idle compared to a 5600u?

What should I get?

Hello

I am looking for a portable gaming setup. I would like to run games like COD and FH5 at 100+ fps.

My budget is £1000 ($1200).

I have found a mini PC which seems very good but I am unsure of the mini PCs performance. I have also found a gaming laptop which seems like a safe bet but I don’t want to miss out on the mini PCs promising specs.

The Gaming Laptop

The Mini PC

https://store.minisforum.uk/products/elitemini-hx90g?variant=47402760208662&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn6341LrVhAMVU6SDBx1FuAhiEAQYASABEgJexvD_BwE

Configured to 77840HS and 64GB DDR5

Is the mini pc going to game well or is it just good on paper?

If anyone has any experience with either machine or similar situations your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

EDIT: I have just found a quote for a custom pc with an 13 14100, 12gb 3060, 16gb DDR5 and windows 11 preinstalled OS. It comes with2x120mm case fans and a 65w cpu cooler - will that be enough cooling?

Is this SFF pc better than the above options. Thank you

This renders the system unusable because the only option for plugging input devices such as a keyboard or mouse is through the USB ports. Yeah, it's that level of ridiculous incompetence.

The root issue is the motherboard BIOS does not fully initialize USB devices when booting. There is no user configurable option in the BIOS to modify the USB initialization from partial to full. The only way to get the system to boot is to disconnect the USB mouse and keyboard before the system boots. Then after it has finished booting you can plug in your USB keyboard and mouse and use them. It's beyond stupid.

I also purchased an Acemagician AM06PRO Ryzen system and they do not suffer from the USB initialization problem. In fact, the AM06PRO mini pc's present pretty much every use configurable BIOS setting that AMI offers for these Ryzen mini pc motherboards. The BOSGAME provided motherboard BIOS on the other hand has a pitiful lack of user configurable options in the BIOS.

If you're looking for a tweakable Ryzen mini pc, don't even waste your time with the BOSGAME P1 and head straight for the AM06PRO instead. You've been warned.

HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini PC with RX560 - video card fan problem

Hello,
Few months ago I went through purchase and graphics card upgrade of HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini PC.
The graphics card is an original HP RX560 4Gb. More details about the upgrade here:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrade-HP-800-G4-MINI-35W-to-65W-CPU/m-p/8865961

Recently the PC started overheating and I had few shutdowns due to high temp. I found out that the reason was the fan of the GPU which was not turning. On boot the graphics card fan starts working same as the CPU fan. But when the BIOS is loaded the graphics card fan stops and then does not work even when the card is getting hot above 70 deg. Fan stops before windows load. I upgraded the MB BIOS. Upgraded the windows drivers. Nothing helped.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I have a temporary in my opinion solution.
First one was to use a 5V fan connected to one of the USB ports:

https://preview.redd.it/l7sna7dfjvlc1.jpg?width=1447&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d896aed0c7b862118ddc2524266ef64ae17b931

But it was an ugly solution.

The working solution for the moment is getting PWM signal for the GPU fan from the CPU fan PWM wire. The other wires of the GPU fan are still connected to it's port (GND, 12V, Tach).
Now both fans are working synchronously which for my use of PC is sufficient, but still I would prefer to use the right PWM signal.

Anyone jumped ship either way? How is the reliability/longevity eg Minisforum/Beelink/Geekom/Others? (Compared to eg NUC which I have some experience with)

Vivo v30 for emulation

Planning to get a phone for gaming mainly for 3ds and switch emulation. I’ve seen reviews saying the phone has good thermals though they tested mobile games. Its chip is snapdragon 7+ gen3. Is it worth getting for its price point?
