Hi, this is probably a topic that has already been discussed, but what's happening now?
Right now, I'm using a 790Pro with Proxmox and a VM with Win10. When everything is working, it's pretty nice. The fan creates some resonance with the case, but it's not too bad. The Radeon reset bug is quite annoying, but it's probably the same for all these devices.
But lately, I've had some random reboots or halts with my 790Pro, and I'm wondering if this wouldn't be the case with the Beelink devices?
The SER7 is pretty much comparable to the 790Pro but is not available on Amazon.de with 64GB of RAM. The SER8 is only available via Amazon US, and due to duty, it's probably significantly more expensive. And there are probably also some other bugs because of early adoption. I could return the 790Pro until June 6th, but if the others have the same problem, I'm wondering if I should do this.
Is there hope that the problems get addressed? The last BIOS update was already 6 months ago, and I'm not sure if there will be any maintenance now, especially if a SER8 challenger is launched.
My use case: I want to use it as a daily driver instead of my gaming PC, which draws way too much power for some stupid activities. At first, I planned to use the 7900Pro for everything in my home system, but with the Radeon reset bug, it's not very appealing to reboot often for these tasks. Therefore, I keep using another Minisforum PC (which is fine). The iGPU is nice because of hardware acceleration for photo editing and to use it as a private gaming cloud for less-demanding games. I want to stick with Proxmox because of the automatic backups and the possibility of running other VMs, e.g., for dedicated servers as well.
