MiniPC for some light gaming?

I'll preface this by saying that I already have a really good gaming rig as well as a PS5 that I do majority of my gaming on. But my PC is in my home office and sometimes I just really want to play some Steam games on my TV out in the living room, like stretch out on the couch and all that. I mostly intend to play some indie titles and platformers, like Outer Wilds, Dave the Diver, Ori and the Blind Forest, those kinds of games.

I've seen the spreadsheet and looked up videos. But most of the videos either skew toward some light office work and web browsing, or high end gaming like Cyberpunk or Last of Us or Forza, and I'm just looking for something that can fit in-between and won't cost too much.

My budget is around $400. So far I'm leaning toward the Beelink SER5 Ryzen 7 5700U, with 16GB RAM and a 500GB SSD. Wondering if that's a good choice or would there be something better or cheaper for what I need?

Also I know I can get some cheap used optiplex and just use it as a Steam Link, but that's dependent on my internet having a constantly good enough connection to stream, and I'd rather not go this route.

Beelink Ser5 5500U slow wifi

hello, I got my mini pc in November and it was running great. The wifi was great and My games were running good for a while. I recently started noticing my google was slow for things like youtube but I didn’t mind at first, because my game was still really fast. Just a few days ago I noticed my youtube was unplayable now and even my game’s ping is high and laggy and I don’t know why. I don’t think its my internet because other devices in my house are okay but my mini pc. I don’t know anything about PCs but I’m just confused because it used to be really good. Any idea why?

7840HS handles Halo MCC 4k

Like the title says, was able to play Halo MCC 4k performance settings. Very playable frame rate. Game only runs smoother at lower resolutions. Very impressed by this processors.

Basic Gaming Mini PC- Strict budget $150-170

I’ve been exploring multiple options such as Chuwi Larkbox X (intel N100), Old Optiplex - Lenovo Thinkcentre PCs (intel 6700, 7500, 7700, 9500T).

My usage is basic browsing, streaming and occasional GTA V. Also, considering long term lifecycle support.

What would be the best pick from my options above? Or if please suggest if you’ve any recommendations under $170

Is Morefine Trustworthy?

I'm new to the mini PC world and recently ordered the M8S from Morefine. It just arrived, and I haven't unboxed it yet. I'm a bit concerned about it possibly having pre installed malware like AceMagic, AceMagician, and Kamrui.

Has anyone found anything funky on any of the Morefine mini units? How has your experience been so far with Morefine? Do you have any good safety tips?

Unit I purchased: https://a.co/d/3PvplwL

Also, any tips or tricks on what settings to tweak for the M8S to make it run at its best would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Has anyone tried to overclock their CPU for the Beelink Ser5 PC?

I have a the Ser5 (AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 2.10 GHz) that I often use for PS2/Gamecube/Xbox gaming and it works great for this generation. I've recently tried testing it out on Switch and PS3 games, and it's mostly passable, save for a couple of games (especially The Orange Box games on PS3).

I wanted to test to see how well I could improve the fps in some of these more cpu-bottlenecked games with small incremental overclocking, but I don't know where to find the options to adjust the multiplier or voltage in the system BIOS (AMI version 2.22). None of the guides I could find online use the exact same BIOS menu and the one that comes with this SER5 kind of confuses me. Has anyone here tried to overclock their cpu for this computer? If it's doable at all, where do I locate the settings in the BIOS? Any advice is appreciated.

Good buy or no?

Was this a good buy? I paid ~$225USD taxes+shipping. Also, I know the pinned guide is not an exhaustive list, but is there a reason there aren't any HP minis on that list?

Specs:
Model: HP Z2 Mini G4
CPU: Xeon E-2124G
RAM: 16GB (supports up to 64GB ECC, not sure if it currently has ECC though)
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro P600
Storage: HP Z Turbo Drive G2 1 TB TLC SSD
NIC: Intel I219LM PCIe GbE Controller

Looking for a good miniPC that’s incapable of running video games but runs smooth and will last a good while

Max budget is like $800 if needed but less or more is cool if it accomplished the goal. I want to be able to stream movies and do spreadsheets. Won’t be using it for a ton else. I have a 1.5k gaming PC right now and want to force myself out of gaming as a hobby, it’s eating up way too much time for me. Main game that’s the issue is Rust, I’ve played 40 hours/week for the past 3-4 months now. I can play the rest of them pretty responsibly but unfortunately anything that can run the rest of the games I like can play rust. Any recommendations?

NiPoGi AK2 Plus Mini PC cooling?

NiPoGi AK2 Plus Mini PC cooling?

Hey guys, I've been using the NiPoGi AK2 Plus for some time now (unraid with 2 SSDs), which works really well so far.

However, when idle the PC has approx. 60°C (cpu).

The SSDs are around 40-55°c

Can you change anything about the cooling?

Is 60°c okay and about 90°c okay under load?

Thanks if anyone can help me, i googled a lot but found nothing.

The cooler looks like this:
