If I'm considering getting the ROG Intel NUC (4060), what other gaming mini PCs should I also consider?

I love my Steam Deck. It's basically the only gaming device I use now even when I'm home. Unfortunately just doesn't have the power to play more modern games.

I'm traveling a lot now for work, so I don't want to get a console or desktop PC that I would only have access to when at home.

Thought about getting a gaming laptop, but that market seems to be rife with making compromises between price, heat dissipation, and hardware quality all while hoping that the laptop doesn't fry itself over time or have one of it's unreplaceable components (screen, keyboard, speakers, etc.) die.

So I considered making an ITX PC that I can remote play on my Steam Deck, but I want this to be very travel-friendly; even 3.5L ITX cases are a bit chonky.

So that's why I'm considering getting a Mini PC. Saw the ROG Intel NUC and thought it would be perfect for my usecase. The price is hard to swallow, but I'm willing to spend around that range. But is there anything else I should consider getting instead?

What do you use for Remote access to miniPc ?

Hey all,

Just setting up my mini and was wondering what remote client you recomend .

Would be just to log in check stuff maybe run updates etc as it will be running headless. Currently Running windows 11 and 10 would also love to control remotely via android phone .

Was using realvnc for my Raspberry pi connections but its gone a bit limited as it has more paid tiers now. ?

Cheers

Problem with video output on Minisforum EliteMini UM780 XTX

Hello, just received EliteMini UM780 XTX barebone, installed Crucial DDR5 and SSD from previous PC. Connected working monitor with HDMI and it just sees no signal, when the machine is ON. If I remove and connect HDMI again- monitor sees that HDMI is connected, but after that: no signal. Tried to connect the tv instead of the monitor- same thing happens. Tried to connect HDMI using USB hub: hub gets the power, but the same happens with the monitor when I turn on the PC. What can cause that? Already tried to write to their support, but may be someone has the experience with such behavior?

Which PC should I get? Beelink SER6 MAX Ryzen 9 6900HX 32GB RAM or the MINISFORUM Venus Series NAB9 12th Gen Core i9-12900HK 32GB RAM. No gaming, just autocad or Revit at most.

Please help me, I don't know anything about computers at all. I've managed to narrow it down to these two but would love to know which one might be the better option. I have a Samsung Odyssey G9 49" monitor if that matters connection wise. Thanks.

Replacing windows 10?

Replacing windows 10?

Hi, I'm looking into buying a mini computer for gaming mostly WoW. This would be my first mini computer as I've used only desktops and laptops in the past. I've also never built my own computer so I'll likely leave the hardware as is. I'm considering the KAMRUI Mini PC Ryzen 7 5700U. It's on Amazon.

However, I believe it runs on either windows 10 or 11, which many people online say slows their computer significantly. I want to prevent lagging as all computers I have used slowed over time. Would uninstalling Windows help and what OS should I replace Windows with?

Which is better for gaming?

Should of just asked this from the start.

Between um780xtx and hx99g which is better for gaming? Which one give me the best experience with helldivers 2?

And which one has better durability/cooling.

(I know there is a hx100g but seems sold out)

Also is it better to order through Amazon or directly from their site?

Edit: thank you all for feed back I think I will go with um780xtx. I decided this cause of cost. Upgradabllilty And for use. I mainly wanted pc for emulation an this covers all emulators from what I been told 780xtx can handle all very well.

PPSSPP Controls

I'm trying to play Smackdown vs raw 2007 using an Xbox controller, but am not used to controlling with the dpad. Using the analog stick is to taunt.

But when I try to remap the analog stick on the emulator, it still forces me to control using the dpad. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

And as far I can tell, there's no in game options to change the controls

GMKtec K9 Intel Core Ultra 5 125H 32GB RAM or GMKtec K8 AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS 32GB RAM for Revit 3D modeling and AutoCAD? No gaming.

Wondering which of these would be better suited for autocad and revit? The K9 has an Intel Arc Graphics (2.2 GHz) 8 Xe Cores 112EU Graphics Card and the K8 has an AMD Radeon 780M 12 Cores 2800MHz GPU.

I will never use this for gaming, just work.

Does anyone know how to use a Windows 11 Laptop as a monitor for Mini Pc Linux?

I have a laptop running Ryzen 5 3500u. Before, I installed Debian on it to program mobile applications, but then I needed to use more Adobe applications, so I tried installing some tools to support running Windows applications on it. Linux but that seems to take a lot of time and is not supported for long. I also tried installing linux and windows in parallel but still not satisfied so I decided to completely switch to using Windows 11 but it is too heavy with AMD 5 3500u and 8Gb ram. My laptop cannot upgrade the ram because it is the mainboard ram. I recently planned to buy a mini PC and then install Debian on it because for some reason I don't want to buy an additional monitor, I want to use my Windows 11 Laptop as a monitor for that Debian Mini Pc but I can't find any similar instructions on Google, has anyone ever done this? ? Please guide or give me some clues, thanks.

HP Elite Slice G1... m2 slots...

I have an Elite Slice G1 and i run proxmox on it, i'm wondering about the internal M2 slots i see it lists 2 M2 slots on the pictures, has anyone tried ever using those for expansion... I'm considering using something like https://www.amazon.com/Micro-SATA-Cables-NVMe-Adapter/dp/B07KX7Z2J9 with a multi-port SATA adapter, so i can use the box for a NAS.
