Mini PC vs Desktop
Budget around $500(+- $100), are there full size desktops that offer the power that these newer mini pcs offer? I am total newbie but it seems like at this price point, the mini pcs are the winner.
Also should I be completely wary of the WIFI of the mini pcs on Amazon?

Does Yuzu Android have any active forks?
Hi, new here, sorry if this is a common question. I know that there are some Citra forks that are still active. Is there any such project that continues Yuzu Android development? Thanks.

Gamesir x2s or backbone one?
I'm an Android user looking for a decent and portable controller for Android. Traveling a lot and find using my phone more than even my pc for gaming, I think it's time to get a controller. Since I don't want a physical controller like an xbox, I want something that attaches to my phone. The most portable and reviewed ones are backbone and gamesir x2s. Heard that gamesir app is hit and miss, backbone is more expensive, but some people say it's not durable... So yeah. I know one is way cheaper than the other but I don't know if price is a factor here. Can I get some opinions?

TRIGKEY S5, 5800H, 16GB, 500GB is $253 after coupons on Amazon
I regularly check prices because I love MiniPCs in my homelab and saw this. It isn't the best deal I've seen but definitely one of the better prices for a 5800H in the last few months. Might be good if someone is actively searching right now.

Feedback from anyone using a mini PC with Unraid?
Especially if you're also using a USB (not SFP) DAS (external hard drive enclosure), I'm interested to know what issues you've had, if any.
Using a Minisforum NAB6 w/64GB RAM, internal SSDs, and a Terramaster DAS over USB-C (3.2 gen 2/10Gbps). Running Unraid with a default array (52TB), parity, and cache (1TB) Everything has been pretty great except one issue I can't seem to get past.
There seems to be some IO bottleneck where reads and/or writes just plummet to ~5MB/s. All my drives are 7200RPM and CMR so I'd be expecting ~150-250MB/s on average. This issue is mostly present when I'm working with a significant number of files, and is bettered when stopping containers that read media folders for example. Done the usual SMART tests and benchmarked each drive with nothing out of the ordinary. Easy 150-250MB/s when I transfer over SFTP with just my array up and nothing else running.
When using the rear type-C port I frequently had drives dropping off the radar when rebooting (taking 1-3 reboots to fix), which was solved (so far) by switching to the front port.
Do love the noise and power reduction moving from a Dell server though!

My Beelink SER5 suddenly died
Hi, today I was using my PC normally, which I have had after little over a year and it suddenly died. I left the PC on while going to make me a sandwich and when I came back, the screen showed a UEFI shell. Looking at the UEFI/BIOS I saw my secondary HDD present, but the main one not existing, but UEFI shows two slots nevertheless. So I wonder if this is a motherboard issue or does the main HDD died? I'm so confused. See images below. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Can FRS (AI upsampling) be used w/ the 7840HS / 780M gpu?
Lately been reading that FRSS is actually quite good.
Curious if the AMD FRS equivalent on these 780M machines makes gaming work well

Looking for mini PC recommendations!
Hi all! I've been thinking about getting a PC for some time now and I'm thinking a mini would be best for my current set up. I have a laptop, which is great for school and all, but I'm looking for something that'll let me play a game like Fallout 4 and also be good for school (but priority is comfortable gaming). I'm totally clueless when it comes to computers so I thought I'd ask here. A friend told me to just be careful with viruses when buying a mini PC online so that's the only thing I'm worried about. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Mini-PC boots to low resolution in Batocera, but you don't see a POST or BIOS screen.
I have a GenMachine Mini-PC and since yesterday, it only boots in 640x480 with no sound, and you also don't see a POST screen nor can you access the BIOS. Any ideas?
