Wildlife photographer Carl Bovis has an incredible talent for capturing stunning images of birds. But while he was wandering with his camera near his Bridgwater, Somerset home, he had a rather strange sighting on the road.

"Being unable to investigate what it was due to it being on private land and the setting sun being in his eyes, the 53-year-old says he spent a couple of minutes watching it to see if it would move before taking a single photo of it and heading home," reports BristoLive. — Read the rest

Purrents complaining that new feline tax could be a cat-astrophe

In Kenya, the Nairobi City County is proposing a new "cat tax" that feline fans are saying would be a cat-astrophe. The tax would require cat owners to pay 200 Kenyan shillings (US$1.50) each year and provide proof of vaccination. Man inserts eel into his bum — then needs rescuing when eel slithers into stomach and starts chewing away

Last week, a 31-year-old man turned up at Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam complaining of terrible stomach pain. Turned out that he had inserted a live eel up his butt. X-rays revealed the eel had made its way into his abdominal cavity and the physicians couldn't reach it through the man's rear end. — Read the rest

Australian waterway mysteriously turned electric blue

The water in Humpybong Creek near Brisbane, Australia has turned electric blue and nobody knows why or how. Queensland Fire and Rescue apparently tested the water and determined the coloring to be "benign" but it's still a bizarre mystery.

"There are various microorganisms (bacteria and algae) that can produce some very intense colours in water, including bright greens, pinks and reds," University of Sydney civil engineer Stuart Khan told Yahoo!Read the rest

Three little kids find juvenile T-rex fossil while hiking

Jessin and Liam Fisher, 10 and 7, were hiking with their dad Sam Fisher and cousin Kaiden Madsen, 9 on federal land near Marmath, North Dakota when the boys stumbled upon a big strange bone poking out of the ground.
