Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a ’90s mystery movie meets Life Is Strange

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage cover

My love for Don't Nod games began just like most other's probably did: when the glorious phenomenon known as Life Is Strange came in to tug at all our heartstrings.

Since then, there's always been some chatter about the franchise's spiritual successor, carrying on Don't Nod's monumental storytelling while also blending in something entirely new. And, after spending a few hours with its upcoming title, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, it looks like we're finally getting that successor, if not even more.

Instead of controlling time like Max Caulfield, Lost Records has you direct moments with a video recorder as Swann, a young film enthusiast who completely embodies teenage awkwardness. She's a clumsy girl who's quick to trip over everything and often throws a few words of classic teenage self-deprivation any time she messes up. And, of course, she always wants to keep it hip with the cool kids, even when she mentions movies no one's ever heard of.

But regardless of my wanting to curl up in a ball of embarrassment for her, the game truly encapsulates the naivety of teenage-hood with its rollercoaster of feelings. It touches upon a very emotional part of all our lives, making it all the more relatable.

Getting lost in Velvet Cove

As a mystery narrative adventure set in 1995, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage follows Swann's journey with her eccentric group of friends. In cozy Velvet Cove, you'll meet the rebellious rockstar Nora and her fellow bandmate, Autumn, who's got a kind-hearted spirit. Last but not least is Kat, the most logical teen out of the ensemble.

Their amusing camaraderie makes it seem like we're getting a classic summer female-led narrative about friendship. Then, the story shifts into a more I Know What You Did Last Summer vibe when something goes bump in the night. Flash forward to 27 years later, we learn that the quirky ensemble hasn't spoken to each other since, and now their past is finally catching up to them — all to expose what happened that fateful night.

The scenes play out in a back-and-forth manner, switching between Swann's teenage years and adulthood. I mostly got to experience the past timeline, but their future selves sometimes put in their two cents by narrating various moments. It's subtle for the most part, where Swann will chime in to say, "Wait, why did I say that? That's so embarrassing!"

Despite the present timeline being brief, it did remind me a lot of the show Yellowjackets' past-and-present style, especially with the whole "don't tell anyone what happened" thing it's got going on. However, rather than watching how it plays out, you'll be in control through the game's impactful choice-based mechanics.

Choices truly shape your journey throughout Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, no matter how small or monumental they may appear. It can be as basic as not moving a piece of wire out of the way, leading to Swann tripping and falling flat in front of her friends. I know it's just a video game, but seeing those judging eyes makes me feel like I'm a clumsy teenager all over again.

There are also some bits where you have to attempt to impress Nora, Kat, and Autumn, which brought on a challenge for me. I guess I never really mastered the art of being cool since I seemed to pick the choices that regard Swann's parents, specifically mentioning her father's rock music taste. I forgot that liking your parents at that age isn't that "cool."

On the bright side, the group is pretty lenient on these choices and is nice enough to look past any of the "wrong" options. But since it's a preview version, I only got a taste of the decision gameplay. The current build primarily focuses on a day in Swann's life leading up to the night that changes everything. I won't give away too much, but it seems to be linked to their discovery of a dark place that alters their lives forever. I highly suspect the full version will bring out the more significant choices that could be a matter of life and death.

Be the director of a classic '90s teen movie

While choices are the main focus of almost every Don't Nod entry, the camera feature is what makes the game exceptionally unique. The preview begins with you playing around with a recorder at her house, and then ends with the grand finale of making a music video for Autumn and Nora's band. You can pull out Swann's camera almost everywhere you go and create short films to capture your summer memories. I thought my recording skills sucked when I first tried it out, but fortunately, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage makes you feel like you were born to be a director.

The recordings are completely edited in a retro style, featuring a classic glitch-filled VHS filter. It's almost as if you uncovered a video from the '90s in a time capsule. Plus, Swann narrates each piece, giving it much more meaning with her curiously innocent nature. It's more fun to do when you have the gang with you, getting to know them a little more with each scene. Key moments can be captured here to bring more pizazz to the piece, from Autumn's dynamic cartwheeling to Nora's cigarette smoke rings, to Kat's stoic look. That, to me, just sounds like the perfect encapsulation of teenage angst, and it's nice to see it all come together in its final production.

Even when I recently recorded a piece, I always wanted to see what it looked like immediately afterward. There's just something more personal about watching your creations come to life, which will undoubtedly make everyone's playthrough unique. There are also a few opportunities to capture the wildlife around you, offering more points for you to shoot as a collection challenge.

Apart from the gameplay, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage's visuals are just plain stunning. Every scene looks like it could be hung as a painting, with its vibrant scenery and finely crafted environment. But even with its painting-esque artwork, it still somehow looks realistic with its lifelike characters.

The '90s are making a comeback

As a '90s baby, I enjoyed all the little details of this era throughout the scenes. Although I was goo-goo-gaga'ing around that time, I recognized the small tidbits, from a Blockbuster-inspired video tape to the fashionable fanny packs. The chic outfits add to the '90s era more, and you have the power to choose what Swann wears.

Having that control of outfits and choices makes the entire experience utterly meaningful. By the end of it, I was engrossed in the character's lives and the mystery behind their secrets. It also left off with a cliffhanger, giving me the same impatient feeling I get whenever a TV show ends with "Find out what happens next in the upcoming episode!" Only the wait is a little more agonizing since the game won't be coming out until next year.

If you're looking for something like Life Is Strange, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will be right up your alley. It has that same strong female-led element, with mystery and teenage angst. The title also offers incredibly fresh concepts through its group ensemble and camera recording feature, making it stand out from the LiS series. I already know I'm picking it up the minute the game launches, based on my demo's cliffhanger alone. And you can, too, when it releases Tape 1 on Feb. 18, 2025, and Tape 2 on March 18, 2025, on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

If you're a fan of the series, you'll undoubtedly recognize Squid Game: Unleashed's many obstacle courses. Put your agility to the test and survive as long as possible to claim the ultimate prize. Currently, there's no release date set, but the Netflix page indicates that it will be "Coming Soon."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0nXN7nz9Es

The Squid Game: Unleashed Gamescom 2024 trailer features plenty of deathly scenarios, including getting by bus, rolling ball, and scorching lava. This is not all that surprising, especially since the show has a knack for some gnarly killings. But it'll certainly be more brutal as an actual player of the games.

The Netflix show also got the green light for the highly anticipated Squid Game Season 2. The new season begins in December, which could be the perfect time for the Unleashed release. Even more so, the finale is already in the works for 2025, ending the battle royale series

If you want to experience the games for yourself, get ready for Squid Game: Unleashed on Netflix Games. It'll be available to play on iOS and Android, which will likely have pre-orders in the near future.

How to unlock all tools in Fields of Mistria

Bug Net unlock in Fields of Mistria

Unlike some farming sims, Fields of Mistria doesn't immediately give you all the required equipment. Some items will be provided later in the story, while others can only be found in the shop. To get the entire package, here's how to unlock all tools in Fields of Mistria.

All Fields of Mistria tools and how to unlock them

You can unlock the following tools through these specific tasks in Fields of Mistria:

Tools How to unlock
Sword Provided to you upon start
Hoe Given to you by Celine during the beginning
Watering Can Given to you by Hayden during the beginning
Shovel Purchasable at the General Store for 500 Tesserae
Fishing Rod Purchasable at the Tackle Shop for 500 Tesserae
Axe Given to you by Eiland during Spring 2
Pickaxe Earned from the Do Bro a Favor mission via the Request Board (Spring 2)
Bug Net Earned from Something's Bugging Me Request (Spring 4)

The sword is among the first tools given to you, allowing you to slice up enemies and grass. Shortly after one of the first cutscenes concludes, you'll then earn the hoe and watering can for farming.

If you want other free tools, you'll need to wait a short while for specific days and missions. Begin Spring 2 to commence a cutscene with Eiland, who will teach you how to swing the axe for wood. Next, go to the Request Board to pick up the Pickaxe from the character Olric.

Earn enough Tessarae from these missions to purchase the shovel and the fishing rod. As you may expect, the fishing rod can be used whenever there are fish shadows are in the water. You can also expand your farming plot with the shovel, providing more seed locations.

The Bug Net is one of the last tools you can earn in Fields of Mistria, specifically from Luc. It won't be available until the fourth day of Spring. Speak to Luc at the Inn, and he'll give it to you to start your bug-collecting journey.

To obtain valuable resources, you can upgrade each tool with various ore. Go to the blacksmith to forge some new equipment, including ingots of copper, iron, and silver.

The life of a farmer can get pretty lonely, especially if you've got a big ole' plot of land with no one to share it with. Fortunately, thanks to the lineup of Mistria's eligible bachelorettes and bachelors, you don't have to go at it alone. So, if you're ready to put yourself out there, here are all the romance options in Fields of Mistria.

Romance characters and gift preferences in Fields of Mistria, explained

Step into the dating world of Mistria with the various single and ready-to-mingle characters. Currently, 10 bachelors and bachelorettes are available upon start, with two more who have yet to make their mark.

Although the two characters haven't been revealed, it could have something to do with Caldarus, the Guardian of Mistria. This character, in particular, has a heart symbol in its dialogue, which typically links to a romanceable option. I'm still working my way through the story, but I'll be sure to update this guide once I've gotten deeper into the narrative. However, the two mystery dates could also be a part of a later patch, given that Fields of Mistria is still in Early Access.

We'll break down each romanceable character in Fields of Mistria, including their gift preferences.

MW3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded: Release date, final Zombies mission, and new weapons

MW3 and Warzone Season 5 key art

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5 has already kicked off with a bang, bringing the world of WWE to Call of Duty. But the real excitement is yet to come with the mid-season update on the horizon. Here's when to expect the MW3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded release, including an inside look into upcoming features.

When does Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded come out?

According to the battle pass, MW3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded will launch on Aug. 21, 2024. It will likely debut sometime around 9 a.m. PT, given that past seasons have been released at this timeframe.

Preloads for MW3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded will be available the day before or a few hours prior to launch. This convenient feature ensures that you can jump right into the action as soon as the update is live. Since it's a Reloaded patch, it shouldn't require too much space, but it's always a good idea to clear out some room for the next update.

MW3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded features

Season 5 Reloaded showcases two new weapons: the Spear and Torque 35. The first tool excels in close-quarters combat as a melee weapon that can be thrown from a distance. But if a spear isn't quite your style, participate in the Weekly Challenges to get the bow and arrow Torque 35. Both weapons harness the ability to pin enemies to the wall to inflict a ton of damage.

New Aftermarket Parts and events will also arrive for MW3 and Warzone. However, a few upcoming features are only for specific modes. We'll divide them up to give you a better picture of each one.

Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3's mid-season update introduces a new map variant, Ink House. The same cel-shaded treatment seen in Toonoxide and Celship will be shown here, switching up the visuals of the iconic Shoot House.

New game modes will also be a part of Reloaded, including the following challenges:

  • Fishfection: A unique spin to the classic Infected mode, where you can turn into a Fish Operator. Use a Compound Bow or Spear to avoid this from happening at all costs.
  • Paintball: All bullets are replaced with paint splatters, resulting in a one-shot kill. Play on small maps and participate in standard modes such as Kill Confirmed or Capture the Flag.
  • Defuse or Destroy: A Search and Destroy mode where a bomb will activate upon start.

MW3 Zombies

The final MW3 Zombies story mission is on its way for Season 5 Reloaded, concluding the overall narrative for the mode. Venture into a new Dark Aether Rift and take down the last Zombies boss.

You'll have several new Schematics to try out, including the highly anticipated Stash Increase. That means your inventory will be extended to 30, giving you a nice amount of space for your extra gear. Then, there's the Disciple Bottle, an item with the ability to summon a friendly Disciple. The Grenade Bandolier is the last Schematic for the season, which automatically replenishes your Lethal and Tactical equipment gradually.

Warzone

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded features the return of Supreme Resurgence in Rebirth Island. Loot around this map to claim powerful weapon blueprints with camo designs. Those who win the first match earn their right to the Spilled Beans Weapon Camo.

Look out for the new Elite Contracts for even more rewards. These tasks will be much more grueling than standard Contracts, as their time limits will be reduced. Complete them to collect gifts, like Foresight Killstreak, Specialist Perk Package, and Advanced UAV.

Avowed release date, platforms, trailers, and more

Avowed key art

Ever since Avowed was first revealed in 2020, its release date has hung in the balance. Fortunately, a launch may be on the horizon now that we've gotten more content about its upcoming features. Here's everything you need to know about Avowed's release window, including platform availability, trailers, and more.

When does Avowed come out?

According to the Xbox page, Avowed will be released on Feb. 18, 2025. The title was previously slated for a late 2024 launch, but now it has since been delayed. This is due to a decision to "give players' backlogs some breathing room," as other first-party Xbox games are expected later this year.

The Gamescom 2024 event will also reveal more information about Avowed's launch. So, be sure to check out this livestream on Aug. 23, 2024.

What systems will Avowed be on?

Avowed will be available to play on PC and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be a part of Xbox Game Pass on Day One release. Wishlists are currently available on Xbox and Steam.

Avowed trailers

In 2020, Obsidian Entertainment released Avowed's Reveal trailer, showcasing the return of the fantasy world Eora. The video provided a small taste of combat, as the playable character utilizes the brute strength of a sword and powerful spells.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YS8n-pZQWWc

The Avowed Gameplay trailer digs deeper into the game's combat. As a first-person fantasy RPG, this title offers a diverse range of options, from guns to grimoires. The trailer weaves a few of these together, freezing an enemy with a spell and then striking them down using a sword.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv23HkHm3AQ

The Story trailer shows us what we'll be fighting for as the envoy of Aedyr. Players must uncover the truth behind the Living Land's greatest threat in the hopes of saving the island.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYvTNAaXMUA

The video unveiled many locations across the Living Lands, where every environment has its own ecosystem. Companions will also join you on this quest, helping you take down the lingering threat.

Is Avowed in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity?

Pillars of Eternity and Avowed are set in the same universe. Avowed will take place in Eora, the very same world in PoE. Some wonder if Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming title is a sequel or prequel to Pillars of Eternity. However, it seems as if Avowed will be a standalone game, set in the same universe but with a new story and characters.

Players will have the option to either shrink or size up with the potion. So, if any taller areas or blocks are in your way, increase your character's size to make it through.

How to evolve Inkay in Pokémon Go

Inkay in Pokemon Go

Inkay, a Dark and Psychic-type Pokémon, has a truly unique evolution process that sets it apart from others. It's not as simple as just consuming candy; it requires a specific procedure to transform into its Malamar form. If you're intrigued and want to know more, here's how to evolve Inkay in Pokémon Go.

How do you evolve Inkay in Pokémon Go?

To evolve Inkay in Pokémon Go, exchange 50 Inkay Candy and turn your phone upside down. Once your mobile device is in this position, you'll notice a darker shade for the evolution button, indicating that it is now accessible. This is the same method used in other Pokémon iterations, including Scarlet and Violet.

Inkay in Pokemon Go

You may have to tweak your phone's rotation orientation, especially if it's set to lock. But if you still have issues, you'll need to restart your device to get it working correctly.

Thanks to the Season of Light research, Inkay also has a Shiny variant, which will transfer to its Malamar form. However, Shinies are incredibly challenging to obtain, so it may require a few captures.

Attacks like Psycho Cut, Foul Play, and Psywave are among Malamar's best movesets. Each skill demonstrates a decent amount of DPS, whether you're on a raid or participating in a competitive league. Just be sure to watch out for Bug and Fairy types, as these critters are its weakness. Fortunately, Malamar is pretty good defensive-wise, where trainers can use its Peck to fight off its Bug vulnerability.

XDefiant roadmap: New weapons, more Factions, and additional maps

XDefiant Factions

If you've spent some time blasting in a few rounds, you may have already gotten accustomed to XDefiant's weapon and map collection. There's not a lot of content compared to some first-person shooters, primarily due to its recent launch. Fortunately, players can expect new features based on the XDefiant roadmap and Ubisoft Forward reveal, showcasing new locations, weapons, and many more.

XDefiant roadmap explained

According to the XDefiant Year 1 Roadmap and Season 1 announcement, you can look forward to new seasonal content and features. Here's what to expect:

Seasonal Content

  • Season 1 (July 2):
    • New Faction - GSK
    • 3 New weapons
    • 3 New maps
    • 90 tiers in the Battle Pass
    • Capture the Flag mode
    • Ranked Play full debut
    • Ranked Progression

  • Season 2:
    • New Faction - Buzz
    • 3 New weapons
    • 3 New maps
    • 90 tiers in the Battle Pass

  • Season 3:
    • New Faction - Orchard
    • 3 New weapons
    • 3 New maps
    • 90 tiers in the Battle Pass

  • Season 4:
    • New Faction - Horde
    • 3 New weapons
    • 3 New maps
    • 90 tiers in the Battle Pass

New content

  • New Arena
  • Private Matches
  • Caster Cams

The new Factions are one of the most exciting new features for XDefiant, offering unique abilities and playstyles. Ubisoft Forward confirmed Season 1's upcoming Faction with GSK, which derives from Rainbow Six Siege. While we don't know the specifics of this particular group, the reveal did give us some insight into their gear. In particular, the ensemble comes with a formidable shield and an explosive grenade. The shield seems to cover much more ground than Phantoms, so it'll likely be catered to defense enthusiasts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IB4Lur9YjM

It isn't quite clear if GSK is the same 'Ruby' Faction that was mentioned previously in the roadmap. So, another Faction, outside of the ones mentioned earlier, could still be in the cards for a later season.

XDefiant Year 1 roadmap
Image via Ubisoft

Ranked Mode will officially be released in Season 1. Currently, XDefiant only presents a Trial Run version to give players a small taste. Ubisoft will likely use the feedback from this mode to prepare for Ranked Mode's full debut. Ranked Progression rewards are also included to provide you with exclusive content, making it all the more satisfying.

If you want more variety in XDefiant, the upcoming seasons will bring forth new weapons and maps. It will make the game much less tedious once these roll out, especially if you're gunning for another weapon. Plus, three new maps have been confirmed: Clubhouse, Daytona, and Rockefeller. These locations will help set the stage for the upcoming game mode, Capture the Flag, diversifying XDefiant's current lineup.

Ubisoft will also improve XDefiant altogether by maintaining a balanced experience for all players. This mission goes along with their choice of not including SBMM, which has become a controversial topic in shooter games. More pushes like this will likely come up more and more to keep things fair in-game.

How to unlock Donut Master in Anime Defenders

Anime Defenders key art

Anime Defenders offers quite a few interesting units to unlock, from Elf Wizardess to Warrior Princess. However, one Mythic has been gaining some traction, which is none other than the Donut Master. Find out how to unlock it in Roblox's Anime Defenders.

How to get Donut Master evolution in Anime Defenders

Embarking on the journey to the Donut Master begins with obtaining the Donut Warrior Mythic in the Limited Banners. This unit is a rare find, with a mere .25 percent chance of acquisition. Brace yourself for a slow but steady challenge that will likely require a significant amount of Gems to overcome. You can earn these Gems by completing quests, using codes, or through the AFK Zone.

Once you've managed to unlock the Donut Warrior, the next step is to evolve it into Anime Defenders' Donut Master. This evolution requires three Donuts of Prosperity, which can be crafted using specific materials. The recipe for these Donuts is as follows:

  • 4 Star Rifts (Blue)
  • 4 Star Rifts (Red)
  • 11 Star Rifts (Yellow)
  • 1 Star Rift (Rainbow)
  • 4 Star Rifts (Purple)

Star Rifts can be earned from the Challenges section. For example, Mob City's The Mentor's Legacy can drop Yellow, Blue, Red, and Rainbow Star Rifts. Check out this area to see which ones are available, as they will change over time.

There's also a cost of 9,000 Gold to craft a Donut of Prosperity. You can get Gold in Anime Defenders by completing quests, challenges, and selling units. After you've acquired three Donuts of Prosperity, head over to the Evolving area to exchange them, along with your Donut Warrior Mythic.

When you've successfully unlocked the Donut Master in Anime Defenders, you'll gain access to a unit that can unleash devastating damage upon your enemies. The Donut Master also excels in support roles, ensuring your longevity on the battlefield.

XDefiant Season 1 roadmap includes new Faction, Eruption skins, Daytona map, more

XDefiant key art

Ubisoft Forward has officially confirmed the new content update for XDefiant's Season 1. And fortunately, the wait won't be too long with its July 2, 2024 release.

The trailer revealed all of the XDefiant updates in the pipeline, including the highly anticipated new Faction, GSK. What the latest group will entail is still a mystery, but I can't wait to try it out to see what other unique tactics will be available. In addition to a Faction expansion, we also got a look at three free Eruption weapon skins. These shiny, new gems will undoubtedly spice up your weaponry, but you'll need to play the game in the next 48 hours to get them.

https://twitter.com/PlayXDefiant/status/1800246806082703610

New maps are expected to arrive per month, and we have already gotten the inside scoop into three of them. Specifically, XDefiant will offer Clubhouse, Daytona, and Rockefeller. If you're a racing fan, you'll undoubtedly know all about Daytona. The other maps will also bring about plenty of shenanigans, especially if they are on a much smaller scale in terms of size.

Maps aren't the only thing to look forward to with the upcoming release of the new game mode, Capture the Flag. Every shooter game veteran will certainly enjoy this one, including the new ranked progression rewards that are expected to come for Season 1.

Be sure to tune into XDefiant Season 1 on July 2, 2024, and get your hands on the Eruption weapon skins while they're hot.

MW3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded: release date, new game modes, and weapon expansions

MW3 and Warzone Season 4

Now that we've spent some in Season 4's initial phase, it's time to gear up for the mid-season update. Here's when MW3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded releases, and what to expect.

When does MW3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded start?

Based on the Battle Pass duration, MW3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded is expected to come out on June 26, 2024. Although the date and timing have yet to be confirmed, it will likely debut at 9 a.m. PT/11 a.m. CST/12 p.m. EST.

With the Reloaded patch, the update size should be a manageable amount of space, typically around 18 to 25 GB. A pre-load should be available the day before the launch to ensure you're fully prepared. This way, you can dive right into the action as soon as it's live.

What to expect in MW3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded

The MW3 and Warzone Season 4 roadmap gives us a glimpse into what to expect for its Reloaded release. We'll break down each category to give you an idea of upcoming features.

MW3 Multiplayer maps

Incline in MW3
Image via Activision

Multiplayer is set to introduce two new 6v6 core maps: Incline and Das Gross. Incline will take you high above the mountains of Urzikstan in a medium-sized map, perfect for mid-range loadouts. And if that's not enough, Das Gross will transform Das Haus into an alien nightmare, adding a whole new twist to your gaming experience.

MW3 game modes

Havoc game mode in MW3
Image via Activision

Havoc mode returns in Season 4 to change up the classic dynamics of Team Deathmatch. You may remember this entry from Modern Warfare 2's Season 5 launch, where you'll be rewarded with various modifiers throughout the match. In particular, Operators can equip the Camera Shift ability to change to third-person mode.

Another upcoming game mode will also unleash a new wave of Team Deathmatch content with Headshots Only. The challenge is pretty self-explanatory, in which players can only get kills when aiming for an Operator's head.

MW3 Zombies Unstable Rift

Unfortunately, not much is planned for MW3 Zombies, as it only features one new challenge. Players can tackle the Unstable Rift Exclusion Zone to earn more rewards and wipe out hordes of zombies. The quest can be replayed as many times as you want, and weapon/schematic cooldowns will be refreshed each time.

Warzone weapons and events

Warzone Runaway Train
Image via Activision

Warzone's Season 4 Reloaded content has been shrouded in mystery, with a few updates garnering a 'Redacted' title. What we do know, however, is that rare weaponry will be available in Loot Hot Zones or Bunkers. The guns in question haven't been revealed yet, so we'll need to wait until more Reloaded information comes out. Plus, Bunkers will be receiving an update of their own, increasing enemy activity within its radius.

Other than the exclusive weapons, the Runaway Train Public Event will begin during Season 4 Reloaded. Use the train to get around Urzikstan quickly, but be mindful of enemy Operators who also have the same goal in mind.

New weaponry

Renetti 18 in MW3
Image via Activision

The Superi 46 and KAR98K have already become some of the most powerful guns in Season 4. However, Reloaded will introduce new weapons that could take over their spot. This includes the Reclaimer 18 Shotgun and Sledgehammer Melee Weapon. While Reclaimer 18 was previously shown in Black Ops Cold War, the Sledgehammer is a brand-new weapon that packs a 20-pound head.

Other content will presumably arrive for Season 4 Reloaded, but for now, these are the confirmed features from the roadmap. We also can't forget the upcoming Aftermarket Parts from Weekly Challenges, such as the Jak Volkh, Jak Thumber-656, and Jak Intimidator.

Wuthering Waves Perspective Bender: How to unlock it and all puzzle solutions

Perspective Bender entrance in Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves features numerous domains to conquer, each with its own rewards and challenges. You'll likely have stumbled upon the Perspective Bender area, which will be locked for some users. Here's how to unlock Perspective Bender and solve its puzzles in Wuthering Waves.

How to unlock Perspective Bender in Wuthering Waves

To unlock Perspective Bender in Wuthering Waves, complete the Restart the Radar quest. The mission will be on the map's northern side, within the desert region. Look for its question mark icon, which is near the Rearguard Base.

Fortunately, the Restart the Radar quest is relatively easy to complete. It primarily involves turning on a few mechanisms and defeating several enemies. Once those objectives are completed, the waypoint for the Perspective Bender will be open above.

If you go here before completing the Restart the Radar mission, the entrance won't initially appear. So, ensure to do this quest first to unlock the doorway to the domain.

All Perspective Bender puzzle solutions in Wuthering Waves

When opening the portal to Perspective Bender, you'll encounter the Configuration Truth challenge. It features three puzzles to complete, presenting a few rotation devices and mysterious patterns.

Puzzle 1 solution

First puzzle solution in Wuthering Waves

For the first puzzle, perform a plunging attack (jump and strike) on the white platform. Jumping on it changes the other platforms to black, thus opening the door to the following Perspective Bender puzzle.

Puzzle 2 solution

After opening the doorway, you must activate a rotating device and select 'Rotate counterclockwise by 90 degrees'. Then, exit the rotation menu using the 'Quit interaction' button. This will allow you to reach the second puzzle using a layout similar to the first one. You can also rotate it in the other direction to claim a supply chest (just set it back once you're done).

You'll need to match the patterns on the wall by using the plunging attack on three specific platforms. Simply jump on the three hexagon-shaped platforms, which should produce a diagonal line.

Another doorway will open, leading you to the next room in the Perspective Bender domain.

Puzzle 3 solution

To reach the third puzzle in Wuthering Waves' Perspective Bender, select the clockwise rotation to open the door on the right. Hit the platform with the hexagon symbol to unlock an entryway directly across from this room. You can enter this new area, forcing you to battle a few enemies for a Tidal Heritage.

Return to the rotating mechanism and press the clockwise rotation again so the openings are on the top and bottom positions. Go to the entryway at the bottom, where you should see a jumping platform.

You'll encounter another bunch of enemies here, so eliminate them first. Then, head to the stone tablet to investigate it.

Afterward, go to the rotating device and press 'Rotate clockwise by 90 degrees' twice. Now, you must perform a few plunging attacks by turning the top half of the pattern white (use it on four platforms.) The result should look like this:

You'll then complete the last and final puzzle of Wuthering Waves' Perspective Bender domain. The rewards will differ with each player, but you'll most likely earn Union EXP, Astrites, Shell Credits, and upgrade materials. There's also an Advanced Supply Chest just before the exit to give you additional gifts.

Like most challenges, you can obtain a trophy reward after achieving Perspective Bender for the first time. Go to the Trophy's section Exploration tab to claim five Astrites and other available gifts.

Monster Hunter Wilds release date, platforms, trailers, and more

Monster Hunter Wilds key art

The next entry to the beloved Monster Hunter series is on its way, continuing the hunt that started from the original. Here's everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds, including a release window, platforms, and more.

When does Monster Hunter Wilds come out?

As of now, Monster Hunter Wilds does not have a set release date, but it is slated for a 2025 launch. Some rumors have been floating around regarding an early 2025 debut, but these should be taken with a grain of salt. Hopefully, Capcom will make an announcement soon to give us a better time frame.

What platforms will Monster Hunter Wilds be on?

Monster Hunter Wilds will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It's currently available for wishlist via the PlayStation Store and Steam. The Xbox version has yet to make its own store page, so we'll need to wait for this specific platform.

As for Switch, Monster Hunter Wilds isn't currently planned for it. Monster Hunter Rise did appear on Switch, but it currently looks like PC and beefier consoles are where Wilds is staying for now.

Monster Hunter Wilds trailers

The Game Awards 2023 revealed the very first trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds. It gave us a short sneak peek of various monsters and the formidable Forbidden Lands.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyoBA0aCRNk&t=1s

We also see the playable character riding the new mount, Seikret. Not only is this creature used for traveling, but it can be an excellent asset for hunts. You can utilize it to stash away multiple gear, allowing you to heal and equip several weapons.

The PlayStation State of Play 2024 also gave us a first look into gameplay. It focuses more on the game's combat side, presenting several brutal showdowns.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2u6VmVmhh-k

The trailer shows creatures like the Doshaguma, a fanged beast that lingers in the Windward Plains. We also get a glimpse of the reptilian-like Chatacabra, which uses its saliva to power up its attacks.

Will Monster Hunter Wilds be open world?

Since there is little information about Monster Hunter Wilds' gameplay, it needs to be clarified whether the game will be open-world or not. However, the trailer may hint at this feature, mainly because it includes changing environments.

The Monster Hunter Wilds page mentions two hunting locales: a formidable location with challenging monsters and a much more peaceful area. Creatures also have designated ecosystems, where you'll primarily start in the Windward Plains.

Windward Plains in Monster Hunter Wilds

Due to these unique environmental attributes, an open-world feature may pan out for Monster Hunter Wilds. We'll have to wait and see what Capcom confirms.

How to get and use Dough Fruit in Blox Fruits

Dough Fruit in Blox Fruits

Blox Fruits offers several unique abilities, using the robust powers of its fruit collection. One, in particular, is the Dough Fruit, a rare Mythical Elemental type. Here's how to get Dough Fruit and use it in Blox Fruits.

Where to find Dough Fruit in Blox Fruits

You can get Dough Fruit through the following ways in Blox Fruits:

  • Buy it from the Blox Fruit Dealer
  • Trading
  • Found in fruit spawn locations

The first and most expedient method to acquire the Dough Fruit is through a direct purchase from the Blox Fruit Dealer. This transaction requires a substantial amount of in-game currency, typically priced at $2,800,000. You can amass this sum by engaging in various game activities, such as completing quests and defeating bosses. However, if the fruit is not in stock, the only alternative is to exchange 2,400 Robux, a premium in-game currency.

Dough in Blox Fruits
Screenshot by Destructoid

Besides spending money, you may be able to get Dough Fruits by trading with other players. In rare cases, they may even give you one for free. It's happened to me occasionally, so be on the lookout for players to make the trade.

If you haven't had any luck, try the fruit spawn locations. They appear randomly on the map, but fortunately, the Game Pass Fruit Finder device can narrow it down. The mechanism will notify you when a nearby fruit has spawned and how close you are to it.

How to use Dough Fruit in Blox Fruits

Once you get a Dough Fruit in Blox Fruits, it can be found within your inventory. Press the interaction to consume it, giving you the power it holds. You'll gain abilities like Fried Dough, Sticky Dough, and Carved Dough.

The Fried Dough unleashes a deadly flaming ball, while Sticky Dough allows you to grab enemies. Carved Dough is another potent technique that launches an enemy up high in the air.

The Dough Fruit's most distinctive ability is the Roller Donut, transforming you into a rolling donut. But if you're craving something with a lot more damage, use the ultimate Restless Dough Barrage to rain a fury of punches on your foes.

All Storm Chasers rewards and how to get them fast in Warzone Mobile

Warzone Mobile Operators

Warzone Mobile's Storm Chasers event unveils a collection of electrifying rewards. Unlike some Call of Duty items, these unique gifts can be earned entirely for free. Here's a sneak peek into Storm Chasers rewards and how to get them fast in Warzone Mobile.

How to earn Storm Chasers rewards fast in Warzone Mobile

Strategically earning Event Points (EP) or High Voltage Badges is the key to unlocking rewards in the Warzone Mobile Storm Chasers event. While you can play any Battle Royale or Multiplayer Playlist to earn them, mastering a few efficient methods can significantly speed up your progress. Explore these tactics to boost EP in Warzone Mobile:

  • Participate in High Voltage mode
  • Get Zapped in High Voltage
  • Use Tactical Boosts
  • Have two UAV towers activated at the same time
  • Open Supply Boxes
  • Open two Supply Boxes with Speed Boost in 30 seconds
  • Complete Contracts
  • Have a squad activate two towers in less than ten seconds
  • Deal 50 damage in Multiplayer
  • Get eliminations with Fire Boost

Even though you can play any mode for the Storm Chasers event, starting with High Voltage is best. It's a 10-minute round where the last team standing wins. Lightning bolts will strike you here, earning you the 'Get Zapped' objective. Not only will it provide Operators with EP, but it will also grant them a free perk. Specifically, the Speed Boost can be activated, which is perfect for the next objective of opening two Supply Boxes.

High Voltage in Warzone Mobile
Screenshot by Destructoid

Most tasks in the Event Action section are relatively easy to complete, especially activating UAV Towers. The three objectives, Get Zapped, Eliminations with Fire Boost, and Contract, will also lend out Tactical Boosts. These boosts are temporary enhancements to get more EP quickly. However, Contracts take up more time than any other objective.

Remember, the Warzone Mobile Storm Chasers event is a limited-time opportunity, set to conclude on May 16, 2024. So, ensure you amass enough EP before this thrilling event draws to a close.

All Storm Chasers rewards in Warzone Mobile

Players can earn the following rewards in the Warzone Mobile Storm Chasers event:

Hades 2 God Mode guide: How to activate it and what it does

Hades 2 combat

There are plenty of gods to go around in the Hades universe. So, it only seems fitting for there to be a God Mode, a feature shown in the original. Here's how God Mode works in Hades 2, including how to activate it.

What does God Mode do in Hades 2?

Hades 2 God Mode is a tool designed to empower players who seek a more accessible experience. It fortifies Melinoë, adding a significant 20 percent Damage Resistance to her stats. This means that enemies will struggle to bring you down, putting you firmly in control of the game.

With each run, your resilience in God Mode grows. Every time you face defeat, your Damage Resistance increases by two percent. For example, the first failed attempt boosts it to 22 percent Damage Resistance. You may achieve an 80 percent stat if you die enough times, similar to Hades

Hades 2 Damage Resistance
Screenshot by Destructoid

God Mode in Hades 2 can be seen as an 'Easy' difficulty setting, providing a balanced experience for players. It's particularly beneficial for those who want to delve into the game's immersive story. However, be aware that enemy numbers will remain the same, ensuring that combat still presents a fair challenge.

How to turn on God Mode in Hades 2

To turn on God Mode in Hades 2, open Options in the menu and go to the Gameplay tab. You'll find God Mode at the top, which you can turn on and off anytime.

Hades 2 God Mode

If Hades 2 functions similarly to the original, God Mode shouldn't impact achievements. But since achievements have yet to arrive in Early Access, we'll have to see if that will change with the launch of the full version.

Brawl Stars tier list – Best Brawl Stars characters, ranked

Brawl Stars characters

Brawl Stars' dynamic roster features more than 70 brawlers to choose from. Each character offers their own set of unique skills and playstyle, which will be put to the test in the various modes. But since there are so many fighters, we'll rank the best Brawl Stars characters in an epic tier list.

Best Brawl Stars characters tier list

For the best of the best, we'll start with the S Tier Brawl Stars characters, then work our way down to C Tier:

S Tier

  • Melodie
  • Nita
  • Amber
  • Angelo

  • Buzz
  • Charlie
  • Cordelius

  • Maisie
  • Penny
  • Tara
  • Willow

Brawl Stars' S Tier brawlers work for almost any mode thanks to their versatile abilities. For example, Buzz with a Hypercharge can be an absolute beast, allowing you to take down opponents with a few hits. Melodie has also become a fan-favorite amongst the brawlers due to her high damage rates and speedy movements.

Based on my own experience, Nita is my favorite Brawl Stars character to use. Her teddy bear can annilate players on the field instantly. Using both your attacks and her NPC helps increase attack damage.

Nita in Brawl Stars

On the other hand, the Brawl Stars B Tier is hit-or-miss. While they can be vital in some modes, the fighters are significantly weak in different variations. You can see that with characters like Mico, who primarily excels in Knockout but not much else. These characters have also received more impactful de-buffs, even worse than A Tier.

The C Tier may be the one you want to avoid altogether. They just don't really do much attack-wise, and they can be challenging to maneuver on the field.

How to sell cars in GTA 5

Car in GTA 5

Given its namesake, you'll often steal vehicles in Grand Theft Auto 5Not only does it save you cash, it can also provide you with some of the best means of travel through their speed and style.

Then, there's the option to sell these vehicles, another way to afford the luxuries of Los Santos. Find out how to sell cars in GTA 5

How do you sell cars in GTA 5?

Players can only sell cars in GTA Onlineas GTA 5 Story Mode does not have this feature. Enter this mode and head to Los Santos Customs to begin the transaction. Of course, you'll need to get a vehicle first, so steal a car from some unlucky soul.

Conveniently, there are four Los Santos Customs locations across the map, including the following areas:

  • Los Santos International Airport
  • La Mesa
  • Burton
  • Grand Senora Desert

You can also use the points of interest on the right side of the map to mark a nearby Los Santos Customs:

While there, drive inside the garage to sell a car in GTA Online. The "Sell" option will be within the Categories section. You'll get more cash if the vehicle is in proper shape and has additional modifications. So, don't bang into street light poles before entering the garage.

After selling a car, players won't be able to sell another one immediately due to its 20-minute cooldown period. If you do so, you'll see the notification, "Sorry - we don't need any vehicles right now." That means you can't earn cash fast this way, but you can check out our money guide to see other alternatives.

How to fix Ancient Processor Blueprint not spawning in Disney Dreamlight Valley Does Not Compute

EVE in Does Not Compute

Even if you've found most of EVE's ancient artifacts, you can stumble on a roadblock that forbids mission progression. Specifically, the Ancient Processor Blueprint won't spawn during the Does Not Compute mission. I, amongst many players, have encountered this issue, but fortunately, there's a way to fix it.

DDV Ancient Processor Blueprint not spawning solution

Restart your game or start another mission to fix the Ancient Processor not spawning issue in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Many players have found that a simple restart can do the trick. However, if it's still causing you trouble, the second option might be your best bet.

Deactivate the Does Not Compute quest and start another mission. While this other quest is active, return to The Docks and use the Hourglass. Remember that the item must be claimed inside EVE's hideout, marked with the star icon on the map below, as other objects will appear outside its boundaries. Once I did this, the Ancient Processor Blueprint finally decided to show up. You can then reactivate Does Not Compute to progress further.

Ancient Processor Blueprint location in DDV
Screenshot by Destructoid

In my experience, non-quest-related items can sometimes restrict the ancient artifact's spawn. You may also encounter the 'There is no more treasure in this area. Look elsewhere' notification when looking for it. Thus, if you run into these problems, use one of the solutions above to refresh it.

Some players have encountered this issue with other Does Not Compute items, including the Ancient Slate. Luckily, the fixes here work for these objects, too.

Where to find and defeat Warlord Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies

Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies presents a versatile lineup of Warlords, from Keres to Dokkaebi. Season 3 Reloaded introduced yet another boss to take down, adding more unique rewards for Operators. Here's how to find and beat Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies

MW3 Zombies Rainmaker location

You can locate Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies on Rahaa Island at the coordinates H8. That's all the way down to the southeastern side of the Urzikstan map. You'll notice its fortress icon here, so ping it to get there quickly.

Rainmaker's Fortress in MW3 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

As with all Warlords, you must get a keycard to access Rainmaker's Fortress. Visit a Mercenary Camp to obtain a Mercenary Stronghold key. Then, deploy it on a nearby stronghold to gain entry to the vault. The vault houses the key to Rainmaker's Fortress, but be patient, as it will take a few minutes to open. Use this time wisely to eliminate any enemies in your path, and the key is yours for the taking.

How to defeat Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies

When approaching Rainmaker's Fortress, you must watch out for mortar strikes. Get under cover to safely evade these attacks, or open the fortress door to avoid them entirely. Fortunately, the fortress is in the Low Threat level zone, so it should be safe enough to enter during the round's start.

Rainmaker's foot soldiers will wander about, and due to their defensive gear, they will be challenging to kill. Although it may look cowardly, I found it best to lie on the ground to avoid their overwhelming attacks (including the explosive mortar strikes).

Once inside the fortress, the critical thing to look for is Rainmaker's green-lit traps. There is a whole mess of them throughout the area, along with a few mines and claymores scattered around. If you go past the green line, it will trigger an explosion. Plus, Rainmaker will often antagonize you to follow him, leading you to another one of his green-lit traps. Shoot the mechanism box to disarm them.

Rainmaker traps in MW3 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

You should also beware of Rainmaker's RPG attacks, which can be just as deadly as mortar strikes. To deal with these, it's best to keep moving and avoid staying in one place for too long. As long as you keep sending bullets his way, his health bar should gradually deplete. Make sure to pick up the items from the Reward Rift once he's down.

The rewards can vary depending on the player, but to give you an idea, I got a Clean House Assault Rifle, a Wunderwaffe DG-2 Case, and a Medium Backpack. Each player will most likely get the Clean House weapon blueprint, as each Warlord typically features its own gun reward. You can use it to tackle Season 3 Reloaded's Union Story Mission, which offers its own prizes in the Dark Aether Rift.

How to play PvE in Gray Zone Warfare

Gray Zone Warfare soldiers

Enemy players and AI can be a formidable force, often overwhelming you on the battlefield. However, in Gray Zone Warfare's PvE mode, you can forge alliances and find support almost everywhere you go. Discover how to play this mode and what it entails.

How do you play PvE mode in Gray Zone Warfare?

Select 'Joint Operations' at the main menu to begin PvE mode in Gray Zone Warfare. This option will be available once you've customized your character and chosen a faction. By default, it will initially be set to 'Warfare,' Gray Zone Warfare's PvEvP mode, so remember to change this spec.

Joint Operations in Gray Zone Warfare
Screenshot by Destructoid

In GZW's PvE mode, other players cannot harm you. Even if they direct a gun at you and start blasting bullets (trust me, I've had my fair share of this experience), no damage will be inflicted. Everyone works together and shares the same goal of eradicating enemy forces on Lamang Island.

Joint Operations is more accessible than Warfare, especially if you're a solo player. However, AI enemies can still be just as brutal. Keep medical supplies on you always, just in case things go south.

Missions are still the same in both Warfare and Joint Operations. So, don't worry about missing out on certain storylines. It would help if you also considered changing your region, which will be at the bottom of the Warfare/Joint Operations section. Since the game won't automatically use your current location, adjusting it for the correct servers is essential.

Valheim Ashlands update: how to play and what’s new

Valheim Ashlands update

The desolate Ashlands undergoes a dramatic transformation in the new Valheim update, introducing fresh perils across the terrain. Even seasoned explorers will encounter unique points of interest that have been revamped for the latest version. If you're eager to dive into the unknown, here's a glimpse of what's in store with the Valheim Ashlands update and how to play it.

How to play Valheim Ashlands update

While the Valheim Ashlands update is not yet part of the base game, players have a unique chance to get a sneak peek by participating in the Public Test version. As per the Valheim official page, here's how you can get in on the action:

  1. Open Steam
  2. Go to your Steam library
  3. Right-click on Valheim and select 'Properties'
  4. Select 'Beta'
  5. Type in 'yesimadebackups'

If you have a Microsoft or PC Game Pass, you can still join the Valheim Ashlands Public Test through the Xbox Insider Hub app. Simply navigate to 'Previews' and select 'Valheim Public Test' to join. You must complete the registration process to download the required Beta patch.

Since both versions are a part of the Public Test, you may encounter bugs or other problems while Valheim Ashlands is in its Beta stage. More patches will likely arrive before its Live version to improve it for the final rendition.

What's new in the Valheim Ashlands update?

Get ready for an exhilarating adventure in the Valheim Ashlands update, packed with a plethora of new features. From powerful weapons to formidable creatures and innovative crafting tools, there's something for every player. Without giving away any spoilers, here's what to expect:

  • 10+ New creatures
  • 30+ New weapons
  • New bombs and ammunitions
  • 70+ New buildable items
  • 5 New crafting station upgrades
  • 30+ New crafting materials
  • 3 New armour sets
  • 2 New capes
  • 15+ New food items and potions
  • New locations
  • New music
  • New events
  • New mechanics

The biggest stars of the show are the new creatures and weapon builds, which will bring on some challenging feats. Some of the latest features, including armor, enemies, and locations, were shown in the Valheim: Ashlands Gameplay Trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSVbXgBJIuI&t=9s

Iron Gate suggests starting a new game if you've previously explored the Ashlands before the update. This is due to a terrain change that can significantly impact your previous world. For example, houses built in the Ashland base game version may no longer be accessible as the ocean floors rise and the terrain lowers.

The developers also recommend backing up any files and defeating the Queen in the Mistlands. These suggestions ensure a better experience for the Valheim Ashlands update, whether you are just starting out or are a veteran player. Nevertheless, beginners should familiarize themselves with the game's world since Ashlands is regarded as one of the most challenging biomes, especially with the new update.

If you don't mind seeing spoilers, you can check out the official patch notes for the Valheim Ashlands update:

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Orchestra World Tour kicks off later this year, tickets on sale soon

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Orchestra World Tour

The virtuosic symphonies of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth soundtrack will bless our ears once again with the announcement of the Orchestra World Tour this year. The RPG's reimagined score can be experienced live later this year (can I put a request for Sephiroth's theme?), and with tickets on sale as early as this month.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Orchestra World Tour begins in Los Angeles, California, on August 10, 2024. Setlists include arrangements from notable Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, the lead behind so many of the soundtracks you know and love, from Final Fantasy VII to the film adaptation Advent Children. New contributions will also be included, featuring Mitsuto Suzuki, Masashi Hamauzu, and other composers on Rebirth.

Additionally, the 100-musician orchestra will be led by the talented Arnie Roth and Eric Roth. Both you may know from their work on the Final Fantasy touring music series, Distant Worlds. If you're eager to see the lot of them perform, tickets for some locations go on sale March 11, with others not beginning until June.

https://twitter.com/ffdistantworlds/status/1766132866721685710

Fortunately, the World Tour covers locations that are more than just another US and Japan tour. VIP meet and greets may be available and will change guests based on the city. For example, Masashi Hamauzu will attend the LA Orchestra, while Mitsuto Suzuki makes an appearance in Chicago, Illinois.

Call of Duty SBMM Completely Broken Among Other Errors

Today the Call of Duty network has been faced some severe outages and errors, to say the least. From the Minot Myer to Hawthorne error, it doesn’t seem like the system is letting up. CoD players are definitely paying the price.

One, in particular, is the issue with Modern Warfare 3’s SBMM, where the standard matchmaking has changed its tune. Since the game’s release, this mechanic has received mixed reviews, and some even believe it has worsened. However, with the latest development, it is now completely broken. Interestingly, players’ reactions may surprise you.

Respawn’s Star Wars FPS project canceled amid EA layoffs

Respawn's Star Wars projects

Amid the Electronic Art layoffs, Respawn has announced the cancellation of their Star Wars first-person-shooter. The decision comes from the company's examination of the player community, and their interests apparently lying more in Jedi and Respawn's brands.

According to EA president Laura Miele, Respawn's primary focus will now be new projects based on "owned brands," while providing ongoing support for existing games.

"It's always hard to walk away from a project, and this decision is not a reflection of the team’s talent, tenacity, or passion they have for the game," said Miele. "Giving fans the next installments of the iconic franchises they want is the definition of blockbuster storytelling and the right place to focus."

The Star Wars FPS project was led by Respawn's Peter Hirschmann, a former VP of LucasArts Product Development. Not much else was known about the now-canceled title, but I suppose we will never get those answers.

There wasn't mention of the Star Wars strategy game that was also announced alongside the FPS project. It's produced by Respawn, but in development at Bit Reactor.

Other Electronic Arts projects have been impacted along with this change. In particular, Ridgeline Games has been shut down, transferring its team members to Ripple Effect. The company's co-founder, Marcus Lehto (co-creator of Halo), recently left the EA studio, but now Criterion will continue on the project.

Before the shutdown, Ridgeline was working on a single-player experience for Battlefield. Although its current status looks grim, Criterion, DICE, and Ripple Effect will collaborate together for the next Battlefield project.

The publisher's future plans have also affected multiple EA mobile titles. Entries such as Kim Kardashian Hollywood, Tap Sports Baseball, F1 Mobile, and Lord of the Rings have been shut down. However, projects like The Sims and Madden NFL will carry on as the company tries to grow its mobile platform.

Like Respawn, Electronic Arts seeks to better strategize its existing mobile games. As per the message from CEO Andrew Wilson, EA's new plan will be fully implemented in the early stages of the next quarter.

The gaming industry has certainly taken a turn for the worse with all the layoffs and canceled projects. It's saddening to see so much loss, especially since the year just started.
