How to get Silk and upgrade your armor in Black Myth: Wukong

Taking on the massive bosses that you’ll come across on your journey through Black Myth: Wukong is no small task. You’re going to need to be strong and swift to beat them all, as well as have tough armor to keep yourself safe.

To upgrade your armor though, one of the materials you’re going to need Silk. If you don’t know where to look, this can be an elusive material. Luckily, we’re here to show you how you can get Silk and how to use it.

Where to find Silk in Black Myth: Wukong

The main way for you to get Silk is by defeating enemies. However, since Silk is a rare drop, you’re not likely to pick up a lot of it in the early game. When you reach Chapter Two, you’ll have much better luck. This is because the enemies drop rarer materials.

You can also find Silk by opening chests and pots. Occasionally these will contain Silk when they’re opened, however this is not guaranteed at any location. Open up any of these chests or pots you come across since it’s worth picking up the materials inside.

There is a special location you can pick up Silk from in Chapter One, and that’s the merchant at the Keeper’s Shrine in the Secret Ancient Guanyin Temple — Grand Chamber. When you arrive at the Keeper’s Shrine, select the store and there will be two Silk available for you to purchase.

The best location for farming Silk is anywhere in Chapter Two. Enemies regularly drop Silk upon defeat during the second chapter. To farm it, simply continue killing any enemies you come across.

Killing as many enemies as you can in Chapter Two ensures that you have a solid supply of Silk for the later chapters, where you’ll need to upgrade your armor.

How to use Silk to upgrade armor in Black Myth: Wukong

To upgrade your armor, you’ll need to have Yin Tiger unlocked in the Painted Realm. This area isn’t available until Chapter Three, and you’ll need to complete the right quests to get to him.

To unlock the Painted Realm, find Xu Dog during Chapter Two near the Village Entrance of Sandgate Village. Talk to him and defeat the Lang-li-Guh-Baw boss for him. You’ll find him later in the story in the Cellar of the Crouching Tiger Temple.

The next NPC you need to find to unlock the Painted Realm is Chen Loong, which can be done after you defeat the boss Kang-Jin Star. You can find him under the turtle’s head on the beach. Defeat him and give him the special pill you can purchase from Xu Dog.

You can now travel to the Painted Realm, where talking with Yin Tiger will upgrade your armor for you. Several armors require Silk for upgrades, where you can finally put your Silk to good use. Just like upgrading your Gourd, upgrading your armor will make you stronger and able to survive.

The Sims 4 has a world problem, and it’s only getting worse

A life simulator, understandably, should let you leave your home to experience the wide-open world. And that’s exactly what you can do in The Sims 4: travel to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, in the fourth installment of the classic Sims series, there’s not that much to see.

The Sims 4 has a bit of a world problem. If you were around for the original release of the game, you remember the disappointment when you first decided to leave your home. There was no open world to explore, and there were so few lots to do anything that it was almost better to just keep your Sim on one lot like you were limited to in the original Sims 1

As the years have gone on, EA has expanded on the amount of worlds that you can visit with the introduction of numerous expansion and game packs. While no one is psyched about having to pay for even more DLC, it at least gives players new worlds to explore. But these worlds are getting smaller and smaller as they continue to release.

Beautiful, but no substance

Visually, many of the new worlds are incredibly appealing. Worlds like Tomarang, Sulani, and the latest addition with the Lovestruck pack Ciudad Enamorada, provide breathtaking views for your Sims to enjoy on beaches, in the woods, and on top of towering skyscrapers. Sadly, that’s all these are though. A vast majority of some of the most beautiful locations are simply set dressing.

Take for example, in the world of Tomarang included in For Rent, there’s a beautiful Southeast Asian-inspired temple that serves as the Tiger Sanctuary. What a perfect place to go exploring for secrets of the town, right? But The Tiger Sanctuary is nothing more than a rabbit hole for your Sim to disappear into, with a few pop-ups describing your adventures.

So, not only are many of the stunning spots just there to look pretty, but the lots you are able to go and check out are limited. The original two worlds included, Willow Creek and Oasis Springs, both have a respectable 21 lots. This isn’t huge, and a majority of those lots are taken up by residential homes, but at least it was a starting point. The problem is that the worlds that have been released have been shaving off lots for a while now.

The world keeps getting smaller

When packs were first released, it seemed like the dev team was trying to make the worlds bigger than before. Windenburg, the world included with Get Together, gave players 14 residential lots and 13 community lots to play with. San Myshuno, packaged with City Living, has 30 lots in total if you count each apartment as its own lot.

However, as more packs have been released, those numbers have been dwindling. Get Famous, released in 2018, has only 11 lots in total. The latest world for players to explore, Ciudad Enamorada, only has 13. Compare this to the largest world included in The Sims 3, Sunset Valley, which had a whopping 92 lots. That’s 79 fewer lots to play with.

It doesn’t help that, unlike previous installments in the series, the map is not editable. You cannot add new lots to the land. While you are able to edit each lot itself, you can’t place a new one next to an existing one, even if that land is blank. The map is instead 2D, with no way to change it.

There are no world adventures here

This has a huge impact on gameplay. Instead of plenty of places to visit, to explore and meet new Sims, players are stuck with the same few places and faces. Playing Sims 4 feels almost like a routine because there’s not much to see and do. Even when new packs are released, you’re able to check out the entire world in just a short few hours of gameplay.

It’s not just the lack of lots, but the lack of variety within them. Each world features the same types of venues, as put by user ContinuumKing on a Reddit post discussing the new features of the Lovestruck pack:

With plenty of upvotes, the sentiment is quite popular. There’s nothing new or exciting to check out in the other worlds because the same activities exist in the world you’re already in. User Big_Stop8917 shared the sentiment:

For fans who love to take their Sims on adventures and journeys that span their entire lifetime, you simply can’t do that with The Sims 4. The coolest places to go are just scenery, the lots that are there are repetitive, and you’ll be able to see it all within just a few days of your Sim’s life. It honestly makes me want to just keep my Sims at home.

We’d love to see a change in this as more DLC releases for Sims 4. Bigger worlds expand the possibilities in gameplay significantly. However, the expansions continue to sell well, so it seems there’s little incentive for EA to fix the problem. The packs will keep rolling out, but hopefully the worlds won't keep this trend going.

10 cool Minecraft seeds to up your game in 2024

There are few games that are still going as strong, even after over ten years, like Minecraft. But, even today, there are plenty of ways to play the game by checking out different seeds. This way, you'll still have plenty of adventures and tons of fun. However, you might need to do a little searching for the best possible seed.

Seeds in Minecraft, instead of having a randomly generated world, are worlds already set up with plenty to find in them. After so many years of the beloved survival game being around, there's a chance of it getting stale, but these seeds will let you enjoy everything that 2024 has to offer for the beloved title.

1. Sakura Season (Seed: -5584399987456711267)

Cherry blossoms are just as magical in Minecraft as they are in real life. This seed lets you enjoy the beautiful pink trees in a huge Cherry Blossom biome, which was introduced in the 1.20 update. Randomly generated maps aren't always going to feature tons of stunning trees, but this seed lets you enjoy tons of them everywhere you look. It's easily one of the prettiest seeds you'll find.

2. Shipwreck Survival (Seed: -8065848147699287859)

Coming across a shipwreck while out sailing is a great find, since there can be a hoard of treasures within. However, it's much harder when you spawn on the shipwreck itself. This seed starts you out on one of the shipwrecks, surrounded by nothing but ocean as far as you can see. You'll need to scavenge materials from the shipwreck, build a boat, and begin your voyage to find any land you can.

3. Giant Cavern (Seed: 7445395903252703439)

Similar to the previous seed, this one instead spawns you inside of a massive cavern underground, with the goal of working your way up and out. Of course, being deep in the earth, there are plenty of resources for you to take to make it easier to build your way up to the surface. There are tons of smaller winding caves to explore in the cavern, and other great finds with this cool seed.

4. Coastal Village (Seed: -7783854906403730143)

This seed will spawn you right next to a charming village right on the water. While there are great places for adventuring nearby, such as the mountains and ocean ruins, there are also plenty of great views in the village on the shore. It's a perfect balance of cozy gaming to make a great farm and house, and adventuring to find the best gear and resources like iron.

5. Mooshroom Biome (Seed: 859337968100847433)

What's more enticing than mushroom cows? Since they were introduced into Minecraft years ago, Mooshrooms have been one of the most beloved mobs in the game. This seed gives you plenty of them to enjoy the company of, with a massive mushroom biome to explore when you travel to the island located at the coordinates 128, 66. Plus, the entire island is safe from monsters, making it a perfect paradise to use as a base.

6. Ancient City and Trail Ruins (Seed: 4349791831285849707)

If you're on the hunt for a great place to find armor trims, this is the seed you need to get. Not only is it chock full of fantastic places to explore, including the trail ruins above and the ancient city below, but it's also easy to find the extremely rare ward armor trims to deck yourself out in while you're out and about. This seed is perfect for adventures and exploring.

7. Woodland Mansion (Seed: 5705783928676095273)

Spawning directly in front of a massive mansion in the woods is a great head start to any Minecraft game. This seed gives you just that, along with a sprawling ancient city just nearby down below to go exploring in. Both the mansion and ancient city have plenty of armor trims for players to find, giving you tons to do no matter what kind of loot you're interested in.

8. Frozen Lake of Cherries (Seed: -6384763642895912697)

I can't help putting another Cherry Blossom seed on this list because they're just so lovely. This seed is a beautiful combination of the pink sakura trees and plenty of ice spikes and snow, making a gorgeous winter combo. It's the perfect scenic place to build a home or even an entire village. It's definitely more for aesthetics than anything, but it's still full of adventure.

9. Badlands Mountain (Seed: -932245979383499761)

Far from the lush lands that have appeared so far on this list, this seed will spawn you right on top of a mountain of badlands, surrounded by nothing but desert. It'll be tough to scavenge your way through this land due to the lack of trees and other necessary resources. If you're up for a challenge, this is a great seed to do it with.

10. Bamboo Jungle and Buried Treasure (Seed: -4813269715648826820)

With this seed, you'll be instantly surrounded by beautiful jungle and bamboo as far as the eye can see. This is stunning enough as it is, giving you plenty of materials to work with, but with this seed, you'll also want to dig around to find tons of buried treasure along the shore. While you're busy taming parrots and harvesting jungle wood, you'll also get to uncover plenty of secrets.
