Disney Dreamlight Valley’s New Update Will Keep the Characters Awake

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new update, Dapper Delight will be released tomorrow bringing Tiana to the Valley along with her Palace and Meal Stall for players to show off some more culinary skills and grab a variety of meals on the get-go.

In addition to the new content for the free update and the expansion pass ACT III: Treasures of Time, several improvements are also coming to the game. With the release of full Patch Notes for Dapper Delights Update, the Devs have improved the availability time for all characters allowing players to visit their favorite characters at any time of the day to pursue exclusive character-related quests or give them a daily gift to enhance the Friendship Level.

Previously, all the characters had their unique sleeping time which made them inaccessible during those hours. From the response and suggestions from players, the Devs have completely removed the inaccessible period of the characters. Instead, in the sleeping hours of the characters, players can visit the characters’ homes and interact with them there.

Alongside this improvement, there are several other quality-of-life improvements that will all be implemented in the Dapper Delights update. Dapper Delights update will be released tomorrow, August 21, 2024, on all platforms.

How to catch a Here and There Fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Here and There Fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are a lot of fish to catch in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and each of them has their own specific methods. All of them have their own locations, ripple colors, and some even have weather conditions in which they’ll spawn.

Of all of the fish available in the Valley, the Here and There fish is somehow both one of the most awkward and one of the easiest DDLV fish to find.

How to catch a Here and There Fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley

You’ll only be able to catch the Here and There Fish once you’ve completed a couple of things:

  • Unlocked Nala through completing the steps in the Lion King Realm
  • Reached level 10 friendship with her

Now, you’ll need to catch a Here and There Fish in order to complete Nala’s level 10 friendship quest, ‘Here and There and Back Again’. After you’ve completed this quest, you’ll then be able to catch as many of the fish as you like, but there are specific conditions.

The Here and There Fish can be caught in any biome in Dreamlight Valley, in any water outside of present ripples, although they can occasionally be found in white ripples.

You can only catch a Here and There Fish between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. or 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. As Disney Dreamlight Valley runs on actual time, you’ll need to be playing and actively fishing in one of these four hour time slots in order to catch a Here and There Fish.

How to use a Here and There Fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Ghostly Fish Steak and Lioness Feast can be made using a Here and There Fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley

If your aim is to complete Nala’s level 10 friendship quest, you’ll need to cook her a Lioness Feast, the recipe for which is as follows:

  • 1 Mushroom
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Oregano
  • 1 Here and There Fish

You can still cook this dish outside of Nala’s quest, and it will serve you pretty well. It sells for 3,108 Star Coins and will give 2,368 energy if consumed.

You can also make Ghostly Fish Steak using a Here and There Fish, which uses the following ingredients:

  • 1 Here and There Fish
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Asparagus
  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • 1 Oregano

As a five star meal, Ghostly Fish Steak is useful for both selling and energy providing. It sells for 3,548 Star Coins and will provide 3,282 energy when consumed.

Another Disney Dreamlight Valley update is due by summer’s end

Tiana is coming soon to Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is pretty well known for having regular updates, new villagers arriving in the valley, and new quests to be undertaken. Late in 2023, Gameloft shared a roadmap for 2024, and according to them we’ve got another update coming very soon.

We're getting into August now, and according to the Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap released in December 2023, we’re due another update, complete with Tiana from The Princess and the Frog as a new villager, before the summer ends.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley Roadmap for 2024
Image via Gameloft

As well as Tiana and everything she could bring to the valley (I’m hoping for Naveen to arrive alongside her in frog form and desperate to have Ray as a companion, but I’m not holding my breath), those with the Rift in Time DLC are also due another update which will see the culmination of Jafar’s storyline along with the ability to finally fix the rift.

We’ve already seen everything else from the roadmap come to fruition, with Mike and Sulley having arrived in the valley with the Laugh Floor update in Feburary, Daisy Duck following in the Thrills & Frills update in May, and most recently Mulan and Mushu joining the ever expanding population in the Lucky Dragon update in June.

Of course, with summer technically lasting until September 22, we might be waiting a little longer for the next update, but it’s definitely coming soon. It’s unknown exactly what will be included in the next update, outside of Tiana of course, but the hint that she will “bring new culinary delights” heavily suggests that the already very long list of recipes is about to grow.

Collect Exclusive Disney Parks Popcorn Buckets in the New In-Game Event from Disney Dreamlight Valley

Summary

  • Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Dreamlight Parks Fest In-Game Event is available from May 15 – June 5
  • Complete daily and weekly Disney Parks-inspired duties to earn exclusive free rewards
  • Collect replicas inspired by iconic Disney Parks popcorn buckets!

The entire Disney Dreamlight Valley team is grateful for players checking out the latest update, Thrills & Frills! Starting today, we’re thrilled to present even more reasons to play with the launch of a new in-game event, the Dreamlight Parks Fest, and the introduction of iconic Disney Parks popcorn buckets! Here’s everything you need to know.

Players can talk with Scrooge McDuck to kick off the event by unlocking new Disney Parks-inspired cupcake recipes. However, Scrooge McDuck isn’t the only Villager who’s getting into the spirit of the event. All the Villagers are excited to try out some special cupcake recipes inspired by real treats players can get at Disney Parks! By making cupcakes for the Villagers and completing other tasks around the Valley, players will be able to craft popcorn buckets based on beloved Disney characters like Stitch and Figment. That’s right – now players can have some of their favorite Disney Parks-inspired popcorn buckets in their Valleys too!

We know how much avid Park goers love collecting popcorn buckets, we’ve got a few collectors on the team, too! The Disney Parks popcorn buckets are not just simple snack containers but popular collectibles that carry memories of adventure-filled days. Celebrating cherished Parks memories in-game or aiding in creating new ones, they are the perfect addition to the Dreamlight Parks Fest.

With so many incredible designs featured over the years, we took inspiration from our own memorable trips to the Parks to recreate some of our favorite popcorn buckets – from a big jar of “Hunny” from Disney’s Winnie the Pooh to the enchanted carriage from Disney’s Cinderella.

It was important to us to be accurate with the 1-to-1 recreations of these memorable Parks popcorn buckets. To add a little surprise and delight for players, we made every popcorn bucket interactable – players can open them and see all that buttery popcorn inside!

The Dreamlight Parks Fest event will run from May 15 to June 5, giving players three weeks to complete the event and collect all the rewards, and don’t worry – players will still be able to keep and display your popcorn buckets long after the event has ended. We would appreciate seeing how players are displaying the buckets in their Valleys and learning about their favorite popcorn buckets. Everyone can join the event now and collect them all, then share pictures with us by tagging Disney Dreamlight Valley on social media!

How to fix Ancient Processor Blueprint not spawning in Disney Dreamlight Valley Does Not Compute

EVE in Does Not Compute

Even if you've found most of EVE's ancient artifacts, you can stumble on a roadblock that forbids mission progression. Specifically, the Ancient Processor Blueprint won't spawn during the Does Not Compute mission. I, amongst many players, have encountered this issue, but fortunately, there's a way to fix it.

DDV Ancient Processor Blueprint not spawning solution

Restart your game or start another mission to fix the Ancient Processor not spawning issue in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Many players have found that a simple restart can do the trick. However, if it's still causing you trouble, the second option might be your best bet.

Deactivate the Does Not Compute quest and start another mission. While this other quest is active, return to The Docks and use the Hourglass. Remember that the item must be claimed inside EVE's hideout, marked with the star icon on the map below, as other objects will appear outside its boundaries. Once I did this, the Ancient Processor Blueprint finally decided to show up. You can then reactivate Does Not Compute to progress further.

Ancient Processor Blueprint location in DDV
Screenshot by Destructoid

In my experience, non-quest-related items can sometimes restrict the ancient artifact's spawn. You may also encounter the 'There is no more treasure in this area. Look elsewhere' notification when looking for it. Thus, if you run into these problems, use one of the solutions above to refresh it.

Some players have encountered this issue with other Does Not Compute items, including the Ancient Slate. Luckily, the fixes here work for these objects, too.

How to ‘get some Night Shards to lighten up’ in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The confusing duty name and what you need in Disney Dreamlight Valley

As part of the new A Day at Disney Star Path event in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are a lot of new duties to complete and some of them come complete with vague or riddle-esque descriptions. One of these makes it sound like Night Thorns are terrible at parties, but I promise you don’t have to cheer them up.

You can be forgiven if the description for this duty has you stumped, but the answer is actually pretty simple - all you need to do to complete this duty is craft the listed number of Purified Night Shards.

How to make Purified Night Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To make Purified Night Shards, you’re going to need two things:

  • 5 Night Shards
    • Crafted at a Crafting Station using three Onyx
    • Found when clearing away Night Thorns
    • Found when digging in sparkling mounds in any biome

  • 1 Dream Shard
    • Critters can drop Dream Shards when fed a food that they like
    • Found when clearing away Night Thorns
    • Found when digging in sparkling mounds in any biome

Once you’ve got the required materials, simply head to a Crafting Station and find Purified Night Shard under the Potions and Enchantments tab.

Although they aren’t generally used in crafting on a day to day basis, Purified Night Shards can be used in a number of different friendship quests with different Villagers:

Villager Quest Purified Night Shards needed
Merlin Crystal Mystery
A Dark Experiment
The Final Trial

5
Fairy Godmother Miracles Take Time
Eric Part of His World
The Mythical Crystal

Simba Stars to Guide Us

Beast The Crown or the Claw 3
Olaf The Great Blizzard 5
Maui The Heart of Dreamlight Valley 5
Sulley The Power of Knowledge 5
Remy The Unknown Flavor 3
Ursula These Legs Were Made for Walking 2

Or, if you have completed all of these quests and have no further use for Purified Night Shards, they can be sold for 70 Star Coins each.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Teases New Villager With Black & White Filters

We’ve been speculating for a while now on who the mystery Lucky Villager could be in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and they may have given us the biggest clue yet with their new teases featuring black and white filters. Here’s all the details.

We’re getting a new Eternity Isle villager for A Rift in Time DLC, but the identity of this villager has remained a big mystery. The main clue we’ve had to go on is that it’s a “lucky villager.” This led to many theories of every possible character that could work. However, the Disney Dreamlight Valley team on Twitter just gave us the biggest clues yet by changing their profile picture to a black-and-white filter, along with changing the in-game dialogue box to black-and white as well.

Disney Dreamlight Valley players are upset about ‘misleading’ Premium Store item

Small Pink Wings in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Disney Dreamlight Valley Premium Shop is no stranger to controversy and one of the latest additions, the Small Pink Wings, have caused a bit of backlash within the player community and renewed a call for an item preview function.

Ever since it was introduced back in February 2023, the Premium Shop has offered players a chance to get their hands on unique items or items from past Star Path events. From the beginning, there was discourse among players due to the price of items, but it has gone on to become a popular addition to the game.

However, the Premium Store is now a year old and it's still missing one much-desired feature — the ability to preview items before purchasing. While clothing items are displayed on a mannequin, wings aren’t. This is the main issue that has caused the latest controversy.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Small Pink Wings controversy

Wings that have previously featured in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Premium Shop

There have been four different varieties of wings that have been featured as possible purchases in the Premium Store (shown above). Judging from the photos and the price of the latest set, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Small Pink Wings would be a similar size to the other three.

Sadly, you’d be wrong and it’s this fact that has caused upset within the Dreamlight Valley community.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DreamlightValley/comments/1b28img/what_is_this_wings_lol_bit_sad_i_spent_my/

As it turns out, the wings are absolutely tiny and players feel as though they’ve been misled with the Premium Shop image, understandably, and the argument for some form of preview function has become all the stronger as a result.

Monsters, Inc's Sulley and Mike join Disney Dreamlight Valley this week

Disney Dreamlight Valley's first major content update of 2024 arrives this Wednesday, 28th February, introducing Monsters, Inc.'s Sully and Mike Wazowski to the village - and ahead of its arrival, developer Gameloft has detailed everything this week's free patch will bring.

Mike and Sulley arrive as part of what Gameloft is officially calling the Laugh Floor Update, and both make their Dreamlight Valley debut via a new playable Realm - giving players the chance to experience a day-in-the-life at Monsters, Inc. before the duo become available as villagers - each with their own friendship quests and associated rewards.

Other features coming in this week's Laugh Floor Update, as detailed in Gameloft's newly shared patch notes, include more avatar customisation options - ranging from new skin tones and special eye contacts to new ear styles - plus an expansion to Scrooge McDuck's shop, meaning players will see more items to spend their in-game gold on each day.
