Earlier this month, Amazon announced that it had ordered an animated series full of shorts based on video games like Spelunky and Mega Man, called Secret Level. Now we’ve gotten our first look at the teaser trailer for the series, and it certainly looks like there’s a short based on Armored Core, the FromSoftware mech…

Gearbox Entertainment made the latest sequel to its hit looter shooter franchise official with a teaser at Gamescom Opening Night Live showing a literal collision of worlds. It arrives just in time to give fans something to look forward to after the recent movie bombed…
In the early 2010s an odd little shooter by the name of Metro 2033 emerged out of nowhere. Adapted from a similarly named sci-fi novel by author Dmitry Glukhovsky, it didn’t quite take the world by storm, but the story-driven FPS about a community trying to survive the nuclear apocalypse by hiding in the subway…
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is a good expansion with one particularly terrible exotic loot chase. The new exotic class items are powerful pieces of RNG gear that can be extremely tedious to chase, which is why lots of players instead rely on AFK macros to farm the loot for them. The epidemic of AFK farming has gotten…

Destiny 2’s new episode, “Echoes,” is currently in full swing and you’re likely digging into the looter-shooters’s three new Battlegrounds while unraveling what the hell is going on with Saint-14. To get to the bottom of that mystery though, you’ve first got to collect radiolite samples in the current season’s…
There’s growing evidence, via datamining and voice actor leaks, that Valve is working on a brand new, yet-to-be-announced Half-Life video game. And before you go running to tell folks that, finally, Half-Life 3 is confirmed, keep in mind that we don’t know if that’s true.
This week, Destiny 2 maker Bungie was hit by massive layoffs, leaving the future of the company’s popular looter shooter in some doubt and spurring waves of criticism of its CEO, who remains at the studio. We also saw streamer Dr Disrespect once again posting online, just 36 days after he confessed to sending…
I always tell people that I’ve been with Destiny since the first alpha test. For some reason, it’s always been a point of pride for me. My own way of saying, “Hey, I’ve been behind this vision since the beginning. I’ve been there through the highs and the lows, and I’m still here.” But following a second round of…
If you've been longing for classic POIs since the end of Fortnite OG, then you're in luck, as the game's latest mode Reload, brings a smaller version of the original map back to the game. Here are the best Fortnite Reload landing spots.
Gamers who have played Call of Duty: Warzone's Resurgence mode will feel right at home in Fortnite Reload, where teammates will continuously respawn as long as a member of the squad is still alive.
With 40 players total and just nine POIs on a small island, picking the right landing spot is imperative. That's why I've put together this guide of the five best landing spots in Fortnite Reload so you can loot up and get ready for the constant stream of action.
5. Lil' Loot Lake
Lil' Loot Lake features just one house in the middle of the water, just like the OG Loot Lake. This makes it a tough spot to land, but if you can take control of it, you'll be in a great spot. The house has weapons inside and underneath, while nobody will be able to get across the water to challenge you without you seeing them. Just keep someone watching the sky for enemies dropping in.
This is the ultimate Fortnite Reload stronghold—if you're brave enough for the early fight.
4. Lone Lodge
Unlike some of the POIs that will follow on this list, Lonely Lodge isn't what I would classify as a hot drop. Instead, it's a fairly quiet location right at the top of the map, surrounded by trees. While this means you may find yourself short on action, Lone Lodge is a quiet place to gear up without the threat of constant attacks, and because the map is small, you're not far away from the busier locations should you want to head into some battles.
3. Tilted Towers
I love Tilted Towers, and some of my favorite Fortnite memories are still ones made in this ultra-popular location. The nostalgia around the original hot drop location is strong, which is why it's a good place to land, but not the best.
Tilted Towers is full of weapons and loot, but it's also going to be heaving with enemies desperate to wipe you out. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you want to get straight into the heat of battle, it's the best place to be.
2. Retail Row
Retail Row is an odd POI. Sometimes when you drop there, the place will be crawling with enemies. Other times, you're the only one there. This 50/50 chance makes it worth the risk, as between the shops that line the car park and the houses beside it, there are plenty of opportunities to loot up.
Be careful if you rotate here later on though, as it used to be a haven for snipers who wanted to pick you off from a distance.
1. Pleasant Park
In the early days of Fortnite, Pleasant Park was my regular drop, and things haven't changed in 2024. There are plenty of houses to ransack in the search for weapons and loot, and the buildings themselves provide good cover from enemy gunfire.
Up in the northwest corner, rotation to Lone Lodge, Tilted Towers, or Lil' Loot Lake is easy, making it my top choice for where to land. It can be busy though, so be ready for combat.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 had its big blowout during Xbox’s Summer Game Fest Showcase, and got a focused presentation of its own right afterwards. That show, along with a wealth of previews and interviews that have sprung up in the past few days, have given us a pretty clear picture of all the massive changes and…
On June 10, Ubisoft held its annual Ubisoft Forward event as the final big event of Summer Game Fest 2024. The show was a bit subdued compared to past years, but we did get a huge look at Star Wars Outlaws, which is set to launch on August 30, 2024 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
The “one more thing” at the Xbox showcase during Summer Game Fest was a reveal trailer for Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel to the original Gears trilogy starring everyone’s favorite bros, Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. Naturally, Gears fans (myself included) were very excited at the reveal, though it’s not clear…
Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga has come to an end. Players are jumping into the raid, beating the Witness, and finishing the final mission of The Final Shape, closing the book on years of storytelling. But as one book closes, another opens, and Bungie has taken this opportunity to be refreshingly honest and…
Apparently it’s 2012 all over again, and publishers are once more attempting the move of requiring always-on internet connections to play single-player games. That’s been revealed to be the case for Call of Duty: Black Op 6's single-player campaign, not just on PC as it has been for years, but now on consoles too.
Gears of War: E-Day is the first entry in the franchise since 2020 and it’s a prequel telling the origins of Marcus and Dom—the main characters seen in the first three Gears games. For folks wanting a resolution to the big cliffhanger ending of Gears 5, it sounds like Xbox will get around to it...one day.
Xbox closed out its big Summer Game Fest Showcase with a teaser trailer for Gears of War: E-Day, a new entry in the long-running cover-shooter franchise. However, this isn’t a sequel to Gears 5. Instead, this is a prequel to Gears of War that brings back Marcus’ best bud, Dom, for a new adventure.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the first in the best-selling military shooter since Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, looks like a cross between a ‘90s political documentary and a Mission Impossible movie in its new trailer. The game will launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on October 25, 2024.
Today during the Xbox Summer Showcase, Bethesda and id Software announced Doom: The Dark Ages, coming in 2025. It’s the next entry in the long-running and super popular Doom series and looks to be something rather different than previous installments.
Today, as part of Geoff Keighley’s big Summer Game Fest kickoff festivities, we got our first glimpse of Alan Wake 2’s first DLC expansion, Night Springs. Part of what made Alan Wake 2 itself such an intriguing experience was the way in which it often seemed to be operating on multiple levels of reality and meaning…
Announced today, The Thing, a 2002 video game sequel to the 1982 film The Thing—yes, they both have the same name, it’s weird—is being remastered by the experts over at Nightdive Studios and will be released on consoles and PC later this year.
XDefiant, Ubisoft’s recently released free-to-play Call of Duty-like shooter, is set to get new factions and maps based on other Ubisoft games. That’s not a surprise. But now, thanks to a dataminer, we know that content from Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry: New Dawn, The Crew, and even the uh...Rabbids are planned for…
Destiny 2 is reaching a pretty remarkable milestone next week when it launches The Final Shape, an expansion set to wrap up the story the series has been telling ever since the first game launched in 2014. To some, this moment means everything, but there are others who couldn’t even begin to understand the magnitude…
Things aren’t looking good for me. I’m a few levels into Selaco, a new FPS out now on Steam, and I’m stuck behind a bar as a group of sci-fi soldiers unload their rifles and shotguns into my hiding spot. I’m also low on health. So yeah, a bad spot to be in. I take a deep breath and try something.
Sony finally pulled back the curtain to reveal what Concord is actually about. It’s giving Guardians of the Galaxy vibes mixed with a traditional competitive shooter. The PvP FPS was first teased a year ago and will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC later this year on August 23.
Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion The Final Shape is going to be a big deal, as it will conclude the series’ 10-year story to this point, but it’s also going to be quite literally enormous. This week, Bungie finally revealed just how much space The Final Shape is going to take up on your hardware, and the numbers make me…
Destiny 2: The Final Shape isn’t out until June 4, but after some PlayStation 5 players were seemingly able to access the expansion early using Sony’s cloud gaming services, some of its biggest secrets are already spreading across the internet. Full screenshots of new loot, raid exotics, and even partial cutscenes are…
In 2024, I doubt most people have played or even heard of PO’ed, a’90s first-person shooter featuring strange aliens, bizarre weapons (like a frying pan), and hard-to-navigate levels. The odd Doom-like shooter was released first on 3DO in 1995 and later ported to the original PlayStation in 1996. And since then,…
Everyone has a sequel they’re waiting for someone to greenlight. Some of our favorite video game franchises exist in a sad state of limbo. It’s only natural that after decades of companies making games and trying to earn the most money from them, that some good titles would fall through the cracks, never to become a…
On May 23, Sony published an interview with The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann as part of a company-wide campaign on the future of technology. The Q&A was extremely controversial, including quotes from Druckmann advocating for the use of artificial intelligence to write dialogue and cut costs, on top of some…
Have you been playing Fortnite recently and been absolutely hating the influx of mythical weapons that keep killing you instantly? Well, I’m happy to report that you may have a new fearsome champion on your side, and her name is Doja Cat. Yes, everyone’s favorite alternative rap girlie is a certified hater of…
Warframe feels like it has been around forever. And yet despite being 11 years into its run as a live-service game, it still has a thriving fanbase, thanks to a crucial combination of community goodwill and a game that’s legitimately fun to play and is always getting cool, new stuff. But for those considering jumping…
Bungie’s been slowly peeling back the layers of Destiny 2: The Final Shape, unveiling systemic reworks, a new subclass, nitty gritty server details, and most importantly, a great deal of new loot for players to obtain. However, the newest Exotic weapon to be revealed isn’t entirely new, and might require a bit of a…
This past week started with a shock, as Microsoft announced it was closing a number of studios including Tango Gameworks, responsible for the very well-liked Hi-Fi Rush, leading many to wonder just what a studio has to achieve in this day and age to be deemed successful enough to exist. Also, one of the most…
Marathon is now available on Steam! But wait, I don’t mean the Marathon revival that Bungie is currently working on. I mean the original Marathon from 1994. The studio announced the shadow drop on X (formerly Twitter) on May 10 with one extra bit of good news—It’s free!
The excitement around Fortnite's Star Wars event has hit high gear, but players jumping into the game to get involved are finding themselves locked out after being hit with "Matchmaking Error #1: You do not have permission to play."
Players who try to get into matches are being told that it "Looks like all the Battle Buses headed out are full. Give it another shot in a few minutes." Unfortunately, even if you leave it for a bit, trying again will see you hit with the same error.
What's causing Fortnite's "You do not have permission to play" error?
This frustrating bug seems to be coming from Epic's side, so there doesn't seem to be much that can be done at this point. It appears that the game is having issues with its servers, which are either overcrowded or simply not allowing anyone into matches.
Is there anything I can do to fix the error?
It seems unlikely that there's anything we can do on our end to solve this, but if you want to try some things, there are a few options:
Restart the game: Always the first thing you should try, but some players on X have reported that this is helping.
Restart your internet: This seems to be on Epic's side, but if you're desperate you could try to reset your internet on the off-chance it's actually a problem on your end.
Other than those, the sad answer is you'll just have to wait for Epic to get them back online.
Has Epic responded to this Fortnite error?
No, unfortunately, Epic have yet to address the issue, with nothing posted on their Fortnite Status account on X. We'll be sure to update this article if we hear from the developer.
Star Wars Day is upon us, which means an epic crossover event is happening in Fortnite. While Han Solo has been in the game for years, his trusty companion Chewie has been noticeable by his absence. Finally, though, the legendary Wookie is here, and we know how to unlock Chewbacca in Fortnite.
With Star Wars taking over the game to celebrate May 4, both the Rebels and Empire are coming to not only Battle Royale, but LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and even Fortnite Festival. That's why plenty of Star Wars fans are so happy to see Chewbacca finally appear in the game. Arriving with his Wookie Bowcaster, players will be able to buy Chewie, but may be confused if they head to the Item Shop and discover he's not there.
How to unlock Chewbacca in Fortnite
To unlock Chewbacca in Fortnite, you'll need to purchase the Star Wars Rebel Adventure pass. This can be found at the top of your screen between the 'Play' and 'Locker' tabs. The Premium Track pass costs 1,400 V-Bucks, and instantly unlocks the Chewie skin.
Players will get two versions of Chewbacca: A regular version that can be used in Battle Royale and Fortnite Festival, and a LEGO Fortnite version exclusive to that mode.
Fortnite's annual Star Wars Day event is here, but it's not just battle royale that's going to a galaxy far, far away. LEGO Fortnite is also getting some intergalactic goodies, including a special set of Star Wars-themed Quests for you to complete.
Before the release of new modes like LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, crossovers were confined to Battle Royale. These days, these special events happen right across the game, and give players new ways to get involved, like building a Rebel Base in your world.
With Star Wars being one of Fortnite's biggest collaborators, it's no surprise that they went hard on this event, and LEGO Fortnite is getting a special set of challenges to help you celebrate May 4. Here are all the LEGO Fortnite Star Wars Quests.

Among the myriad scourges that make playing games in 2024 so tiresome, the need for multiple different accounts to various services ranks high. Helldivers 2 players have just been told by Sony that come next week, they’ll have to link their Steam account with a PlayStation Network account, something it’s been working…
Players were excited at the prospect that Redfall might combine the fun co-op loot mechanics of a Borderlands with the bespoke environmental storytelling of a Dishonored. Ultimately, though, the day-one Game Pass blockbuster didn’t quite accomplish either of these things, and it was burdened at launch by bugs,…
