Rebecca Hanssen, the actor who provided the voice for Stellar Blade‘s Eve in the English localisation, has admitted she was taken aback by the game’s success.

Speaking with GamesRadar+ during the Golden Joystick Awards 2025 last week, Hassen described the game’s ongoing success as “surreal,” having no idea just how big the game would get when she was recording her dialogue.

I don’t think – in fact, I know that – when I was recording it, I had no idea how big it was going to become. It’s totally wowed me and continues to. I think being part of it, now, is lovely. I get messages every day from people telling me how much the game means to them and how many playthroughs they’ve done. I think Eve stays with me pretty much every day, which is lovely to have.

While we’re on the subject of Stellar Blade, developer Shift Up revealed last week that it was hiring for a number of positions for what it called Stellar Blade’s ‘next work,’ having previously stated that it would be working on a sequel to the game.

Stellar Blade was released for PS5 in April 2024 before seeing a PC release in June of this year. That same month, it was confirmed that combined sales of both versions of the game had reached three million worldwide. You can read our full review here.
