Does Black Myth Wukong have difficulty settings? Explained

Black Myth: Wukong is oftentimes compared to Soulslikes because of its difficulty and grand bosses, but are there settings to change that? If you want to get into the game but are scared of it potentially being really difficult, here’s what you need to know.

Can you change difficulty settings in Black Myth: Wukong?

Unfortunately, Black Myth: Wukong does not have difficulty setting options at this time. While the game might not be as difficult as Bloodborne, Sekiro, or Elden Ring, it’ll still pose quite the challenge.

The only way you can really alleviate the game’s difficulty is to farm up levels, or Sparks. Use them to further enhance your character’s abilities and you should hopefully turn the tide in battle against the dozens of bosses you’ll face ahead.

Also, you can skip a handful of bosses if you want, but it’s recommended that you don’t because they drop new items that can help you later down the line. They’ll also drop crafting materials for better gear and give you huge XP boosts upon beating them.

You can also upgrade your abilities like your spells and transformations so that you can deal more damage or have more use out of them, so use all you can if some of these battles are too tough.

Can you summon NPCs or other players in Black Myth: Wukong?

If you were hoping that you could summon an NPC to take the aggro off of you in boss battles, you can’t do that. You’re mostly alone in this game.

With that said, you also can not summon other players via any sort of co-op or multiplayer session. It’s up to you to take on the game with the tools you have.

Since Black Myth: Wukong is solely a single-player game, it can deter many who need a partner or a leg up against these tough bosses. No way are they in the same realm as actual Soulslikes, but they can still be a headache for many.

To say that Elden Ring’s open world is big is an understatement. The map is so huge it can’t even fit on the entire screen. It’s easy to get lost between the Catacombs, field bosses, and anything else in the Lands Between. FromSoftware basically said, “here’s the game – now you figure out the way.”

That’s a good thing, of course, but some players are having trouble figuring out some things about the map. More specifically, many new players have been wondering what the gold and yellow lines are on the map near the Sites of Grace.

What Do the Gold Lines Mean Near a Site of Grace?

Elden-Ring-Halo-Scythe

The gold lines on the map in Elden Ring point toward your next objective. They’re called the Guidance of Grace in the lore, and they guide the Tarnished on their journey. If you ever find yourself stuck, just follow those lines and you’ll be back on track in no time.

It’s not just limited to the map, either. When you rest at a Site of Grace, some of them will emanate a sort of golden trail of dust through the sky. Not all of them do that, only those that indicate a certain landmark in the game that leads into a possible quest or dungeon ahead will have them. The game doesn’t hold your hand too much in outright giving you some sort of quest log or something in the UI to show you your next destination.

The tradeoff here is that there’s a sense of exploration you should fulfill for tidbits of lore, new wares to collect, and bosses to conquer. These gold lines serve as a bare minimum of leading you in the direction you should go. The choice is yours. You’re not locked out from progressing any further if you don’t follow the lines either.

Elden-Ring-Map-example

Admittedly, it can get confusing if you’re traveling east towards Caelid and start seeing the Sites of Grace show the lines too. The correct way to through the main story of the game is to make your way north from Limgrave, through Stormveil, then the Raya Lucaria Academy, and so forth.

Even when you complete an entire area, those lines will still appear. The only way to really keep track is to use the map’s marker options to indicate if you have cleared an entire area of its boss and one-time pickups.

Elden Ring is out now for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and PC.

Blizzard seems set on releasing a steady roster of new heroes to help keep the game fresh. It’s hard to complain; Overwatch isn’t the competitive, acclaimed FPS that it used to be. Now, most of its playerbase is looking for ways to invent fun team comps and having a good time with their friends.

Don’t get me wrong, the game needs balance, and the characters should be fun without being broken. But, it’s gonna be a while before Overwatch 2 gets back to where the franchise once stood, if it ever gets as popular as the original. It’s hard to tell if the devs can keep the characters diverse in terms of mechanics, but they’ sure’ve hit the mark with recent support heroes like Illari and Lifeweaver that challenge the game’s norms and elevate the FPS title’s skill ceiling.

What Order Do You Unlock Overwatch Characters?

Illari-Healing-Pylon-Overwatch-2
Image: Blizzard

You can unlock characters, including some of the new heroes released after Overwatch 2, in a specific order that’ is’s not tied to the hero release order of the first game. The characters will be unlocked as you’re playing the game. The more you play, the more heroes you unlock. However, some Overwatch 2 characters can only be unlocked by completing a special challenge or buying them from the shop.

I find this an effective strategy to keep players invested in the game. The process of unlocking each character doesn’t take long, providing players with constant goals. By the time all characters are unlocked, players are likely to have developed a liking for the game and continue playing. This approach helps Blizzard expand the game’s player base, even if it’s temporary, thereby enhancing the experience for dedicated players.

Is Valorant crossplay between PC and PS5?

With Valorant being in open beta now, console players can get in on the fun that PC players have been experiencing for years. That being said, is Valorant crossplay compatible between PC and PS5? Here’s what we know.

Is Valorant crossplay compatible between PC and PS5?

Unfortunately, Valorant does not support crossplay between PC and PS5, nor does PC have that option with Xbox consoles. Due to the nature of the game, PC players do have a massive advantage over console players. This isn’t a game like Overwatch or recent Call of Duty games where the TTK (Time to Kill) is high enough so that those playing on a controller can have a fair gunfight.

The good news is that if you have a friend who plays on PC and you wish to play with them, cross-progression is an option. Whether you want to bring your console account to PC or they bring their PC account to an Xbox Series X/S or PS5, it’s possible.

Is Valorant crossplay between PS5 and Xbox?

Luckily, PS5 and Xbox players can match up and squad up together on Valorant. Since players on both consoles are on the same playing field, there are no advantages or disadvantages over the other.

Just make sure you actually have the feature enabled so you can broaden your search pool when matchmaking.

How to enable crossplay on Valorant (PS5 and Xbox only)

By default, you should have crossplay enabled on Valorant if you’re playing the open beta on PS5 or Xbox. However, just to double-check that it’s on, press your menu or options button on your controller to bring up the Options menu.

From here, select Settings. In the General tab, find the Privacy section and see that “Allow Crossplay” is set to on. You can also set other important options like limiting friend requests and hiding names.

So, unfortunately, you can’t match or link with PC players if you’re on PS5 or Xbox, but you can with other console players.

Warframe status rework in Jade Shadows

Jade Shadows is the next known update coming to Warframe, revisiting the Stalker, introducing the new frame, and significant reworks in the game’s mechanics. In the 180th DevStream, we had a good look into what’s to come in the update.

Warframe Jade Shadows release date

The Jade Shadows update will be coming to Warframe on June 18 on all platforms. It’ll be in the style of a typical update where we get a quest, a new frame, a new game mode, new weapons, balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and several tweaks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wvtic5hMEd0

What to expect in Jade Shadows

While this may be a traditional Warframe update, Jade Shadows will be a cinematic quest that will last roughly up to 25 minutes. It’ll focus on what happens to The Stalker post-New War while introducing Jade.

Because of this, you will have to progress through the game’s questline up until the completion of The New War. The dev team at Digital Extremes also requests that players be mindful of spoilers when this is released, so it’ll be important for upcoming expansions.

Status rework

One of the bigger tweaks coming in this update has to be the rework to the Blast, Cold, and Magnetic status effects. Right now, the elements pertaining to Toxin and its combinations reign supreme along with Fire. The aforementioned procs are to be reworked in a way that brings them up to snuff.

It’s too soon to tell if this will flip the meta entirely, but it does already sound like it’s making every elemental combination viable in the endgame.

Warframe Jade Shadows new game mode

Along with the quest and status rework, there will be a new game mode coming to Warframe called “Ascension”. It seems to be a multiple-phase game mode where you first defend an objective, then go into an elevator and escort an objective with you.

From this elevator part, you have to power the mechanism up with batteries while avoiding a bunch of hazards and hard-hitting enemies. Should you fall or mess up, you must climb back up and maintain the energy of the elevator going upward.

Warframe Ascension game mode
Image via Digital Extremes

The final part seems to borrow from the mechanics of the Hijack mode where you then have to escort a moving payload and prevent it from being destroyed.

So, in short, this game mode will require players to be very mobile, utilizing all the movement techniques in Warframe. At the same time, they have to sport a decent build that can take down tough enemies.

There will also be an event tied to this mode as the update comes out called Belly of the Beast. Rewards include Arcane Enhancements from previous events and more.

Additional things coming with Jade Shadows

There will be huge UI improvements coming to Jade Shadows like missions depicting enemy resistance and weaknesses. You’ll also be able to edit your loadout while at the Star Chart menu for a more streamlined mission approach.

Many more improvements to the new user experience will be made that will benefit veterans too. Such things include damage numbers and how they’re displayed, polarity matching, fast travel menus, and more.

Finally, we’ll be getting new Augment mods for Protea, Qorvex, Dagath, and Sevagoth. There’s so much to unpack for fans of the upcoming frame and those who will be affected by the status reworks.

There's a new infinite grenade glitch in Helldivers 2

It seems that every time a new update rolls out in Helldivers 2, something else breaks. Whether it’s crashing, weird clipping issues, or a more favorable exploit, defending democracy reveals the issue fast. And it looks like, as of May 10, there's a new infinite glitch that gives players limitless grenades in Helldivers 2.

If you're running into players blowing up the entire playing field with an endless supply of grenades, that's not a hack, but it’s an exploit using the Stratagem menu. It works similarly to when there was an earlier instance of this exploit before the Polar Patriots Warbond came out.

When Helldivers 2 launched, one exploit allowed players to carry four of the same Stratagem and call them in over each other during a mission. For example, you could bring in four 380mm HE Barrages to a game and have four of them active in one session. Unfortunately, that was patched.

Then we had the infinite grenade glitch that was patched in late April where Arrowhead “fixed an exploit that allowed overly eager Helldivers to use grenades excessively”. The party had to end at some point because it got ridiculous to have an infinite amount of 'nades for all missions with such an easy exploit. So with a new infinite grenade glitch out there, how do you perform this?

How to perform the infinite grenade glitch in Helldivers 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

How to perform the new infinite grenade glitch in Helldivers 2

To perform the new infinite grenade glitch, do the following:

  • Press and hold the button to swap to your grenade
  • While holding the button, quickly tap your Stratagem menu a few times
  • Spam all of your grenades until reaching zero
  • On your throw for the last grenade, quickly tap the Stratagem menu a few times and press the button to toss a grenade

If done correctly, your grenade count should be at some ridiculously high number like 4,294,967,296. Every time I tested it, my grenade count somehow went close to 4.3 billion.

Can you get banned for this glitch?

Technically, you can’t get banned for using the grenade glitch. This is just based on it being used quite a lot in the previous patch. It is a PvE game, so there is no competitive advantage for doing this.

However, it’s advised that you do not go around doing this in public lobbies. With there being a possible lack of communication, you run the chance of killing other teammates. If you get reported for griefing and they see a ridiculously high grenade count in your inventory, it’ll be easier to make an example out of you.

So, if you want to once again be an “overly eager” Helldiver, do this only in solo or private lobbies to be on the safe side. This is definitely going to be patched soon.

How to get Temporal Erosion in Warframe

Temporal Erosion is an interesting Augment Mod for Protea in Warframe. You hear "armor strip" and think this could be the thing to turn the time-defying gadgeteer into the meta.

In any case, here is what you need to know about her Temporal Erosion mod and if it’s worth using in your builds in Warframe.

How to get Temporal Erosion in Warframe

To get the Temporal Erosion mod in Warframe, you must reach the final rank in either the Arbiters of Hexis or the Perrin Sequence Syndicates. The mod will cost 25,000 Standing and will come unranked.

The reason why you have to progress to the maximum level in those respective Syndicates is because Warframe Augment Mods become available at that rank. This applies to the four other pledge-able ones in the game too (ex. Steel Meridian, Red Veil, New Loka, Cephalon Suda).

If you are in neither of the Syndicates where this mod is purchasable, you can seek out other players via the Trade chat who are. Typically, a Warframe Augment mod from the Syndicate vendors costs about 15 Platinum.

With the boost in Protea’s popularity given her recent release of the Prime version, people might bump up prices. In any case, look for 10 to 15 for an Unranked version of this mod. Don’t get scammed.

Protea Prime Warframe
Image via Digital Extremes

Is Temporal Erosion worth it?

In some small cases, Temporal Erosion could be worth it. However, in our Protea Prime build, you can do just fine without the added armor strip.

The reason for that is her Blaze Artillery does Heat damage. This damage type already strips armor and is strong across all enemy factions in the game. Her Grenade Fan ability does Slash damage, so you have two of the strongest damage types in the game in one Warframe.

Protea’s Temporal Anchor is a bit of a niche ability in the game and doesn’t last too long, even with proper modding. So you’re creating a heavily energy-dependent build just to get a few extra stacks of armor strip.

That said, Temporal Erosion does have its uses, but as you reach higher levels in the game, energy upkeep will be the difference between life and death. You’re better off leaving that free slot for something more practical.

S-Tier

The weapons on this tier are perhaps the best of the best and can be taken to almost any scenario in Helldivers 2, including the harder difficulties like Suicide Mission and higher.

  • Arc Thrower (Stratagem) - This charge rifle is hands down one of the best all-rounders in the game. It can clear enemy waves easily thanks to the chain lightning and even ignore armor. The only downside is that it’s easy to kill teammates if they are close to the chain lightning.
  • Railgun (Stratagem) - Despite the recent nerfs to armor penetration, this gun is still very solid for what it does. Gone are the days of cheesing Bile Titans with one to two shots, but it’ll still outclass most single-target weapons in the game.
  • SG-225 Breaker - This is another weapon that was recently nerfed, but still can hold its own. You’ll find yourself reloading more and maybe missing a few shots from recoil, but this thing can melt enemies that get too close to you.
  • Plas-1 Scorcher - Once players start reaching the harder difficulties and getting to the final page of the Warbond Progression, this is going to help so much. Think of this as being the Arc Thrower but as a primary. It chews through armor and has risky AoE.
  • Spear (Stratagem) - If you need to take down a big target like a Tank, Hulk, or Bile Titan, the Spear is an awesome choice. It’s basically a Javelin and can deal devastating damage to armored targets.

Helldivers 2 weapon tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

A-Tier

The weapons in this tier are quite versatile and can be used against both factions. They aren't as strong as the S-Tier picks, but they can definitely hold their own even as you get into the harder content.

  • AR-23 Liberator - The starting assault rifle in the game is serviceable and very versatile. It isn’t as powerful as other weapons, nor is it weak. It’s just balanced.
  • Laser Cannon (Stratagem) - This was one of the weapons that was buffed in the latest patch and it can pack a serious punch. Especially in earlier levels as you’re still unlocking stuff, you won’t be disappointed with this. Just try not to overheat the thing.
  • Grenade Launcher (Stratagem) - When you want to plug the bug holes and destroy the Automaton fabricators, you’re going to need some explosives. To complement your grenade inventory, nade launchers can do the trick and deal exceptional damage outside of these objectives. Just warn your teammates about danger close.
  • Anti-Materiel Rifle (Stratagem) - This is a good heavy sniper in the earlier game as you won’t have access to something like the Railgun or Spear. Of course, it’s optimal to use this on large, armored enemies instead of small fries.
  • P-19 Redeemer - When reloading your other weapons takes too long and you’re in a pinch, this pistol is going to save you. As the saying goes, “switching to your pistol is faster than reloading.”
  • SG-225SP Breaker Spray & Pray - This is almost as good as its earlier counterpart, especially with recent buffs. It just lacks a bit of firepower compared to the normal Breaker.
  • Expendable Anti-Tank (Stratagem) - This is an alternative to the Recoilless Rifle. If you don’t like the backpack reloading of that weapon, then this is it. The Expendable Anti-Tank also cools down a lot quicker.
  • Autocannon (Stratagem) - Similar to the Recoilless Rifle, this does have the backpack reload thing to worry about. It’s very strong against single-target armored enemies, so don’t write it off as a pointless two-person weapon.

Best weapons in Helldivers 2 ranked
Screenshot by Destructoid

B-Tier

The weapons in this tier are good in their own right. They are a bit more niche, but can still get the job done.

  • Stalwart (Stratagem) - This standard-issue machine gun is good when you’re starting out in Helldivers 2. Since you won’t be facing off against too many armored targets at first, this can easily replace your assault rifle and clear tons of small fries. It falls off in harder difficulties.
  • LAS-5 Scythe - This is a strong primary if you’re good at targeting weak spots and enemy heads. With no recoil, it’ll be absolutely devastating. If your marksmanship isn’t that great, the Scythe won’t do much for you.
  • Machine Gun (Stratagem) - This is the default Stratagem you get when starting out in the game and it can mow down mobs of enemies easily. The big downside is that you have to stay in place as you reload, so don’t get caught with your pants down as a wave of enemies comes at you.
  • G-16 Impact - This is a standard grenade that will detonate on impact. You won’t be using this to clear nests and fabricators, but it can deal a decent amount of damage against enemy groups and armored targets.
  • Recoilless Rifle (Stratagem) - In a cooperative setting, this can deal some serious damage against big, armored targets. If you’re using this solo, it can still do fine but will be a lot less efficient in terms of reloading.
  • SG-8 Punisher - This shotgun is good if you’re someone who has the bad habit of wanting to reload every few shots. Helldivers 2 punishes players by dumping an entire mag if you reload when the clip isn’t empty. It also packs a decent punch up close, so don’t sleep on this.
  • R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper - This is a stronger version of the R-36, but requires you to be crouched or prone to really do some good damage.
  • R-36 Diligence - Only use this against against the Automatons since most of them are ranged attackers. It’ll do great work, but you may also want to go prone or be crouched so you won’t miss any shots.
  • SMG-37 Defender - This is a good upgrade from the starting pistol you get. It’s good in a pinch when you run out of ammo from your primary or support weapon.

C-Tier

The weapons in this tier aren't necessarily bad per se. They just get outclassed by other weapons in their own classes.

  • Flamethrower (Stratagem) - With the recent buffs to this weapon, it can definitely clear waves of smaller enemies up close. However, there’s too much of a risk to use this because of the mobility and high chances of igniting yourself and your teammates.
  • SG-8S Slugger - It’s a decent shotgun but gets eclipsed by other weapons in its own class.
  • G-6 Frag - This standard issue grenade is just serviceable. You’ll most likely only use this to clear up nests and fabricators. It can destroy clusters of enemies just fine, but you won’t see yourself doing that too often.
  • P-2 Peacemaker - The starting pistol you get for your loadout is fine and can be a good sidearm when in a pinch. However, it’ll easily be outclassed by other secondary weapons you get as you level up.
