You've survived starvation, wolves, those rolling rock monsters, and so much more to build your perfect village in Lego Fortnite. It sure would be a shame if an evil empire rolled up and started blasting. Luckily for you, a rebel fleet is ready to back you up against the dark side of The Force.

A new Star Wars update is launching for Fortnite on May 3, and with it comes a massive expansion to Lego Fortnite. We'll investigate the crash site of an Empire vessel after it rifts into our Lego Fortnite world. There's a ramshackle rebel village that we'll help build into a Level 10. From there, we can launch assaults on Empire encampments throughout the island. All of this looks to be adding a much more focused narrative hook to the otherwise free-reign of Lego Fortnite.

This event will also include the addition of a Lego Pass. With a free track and paid track, you can unlock various structures and items by completing quests. Purchasing the premium track for 1400 V-Bucks immediately gets you Chewbacca skins for Lego Fortnite and Battle Royale. At the end of each track is a large construction unlock. For the free path, you get the Mos Eisley Marketplace. The paid path gets you the Dusty Durrr Burger Build. It combines the Star Wars aesthetic and a Fortnite classic.

Along with all the Star Wars excitement, this update also comes with a lot more Fortnite skins getting a proper Lego version. 90 skins will have new models, including Darth Vader, Krrsantan, and The Mandalorian.

Forget all the Star Wars; the biggest feature of this update is that you'll finally be able to view Lego Fortnite Quests without having to return to the Lobby. Thank the Force for that one.

The earth trembles in anticipation of Deathwing's re-emergence of Cataclysm Classic. The re-launch of the World of Warcraft expansion that literally changed the world is now available in closed beta. You can experience all the fun of a dragon-fueled apocalypse now by signing up at Blizzard's portal.

Cataclysm was a huge expansion, and WoW's most monumental undertaking. The entirety of the main world was rebuilt for new stories, quests, locations and more. The expansion also saw the introduction of the Worgen and Goblins as playable races, the Archeology skill, and transmogrification. The ability to change your gear's appearance continues to be one of the most important features for style-savvy players.

It's interesting to be in this position. Ever since World of Warcraft Classic launched in 2019, the handling of future expansions has been a curiosity. Then, Burning Crusade happened, and we knew we'd see more content added. However, Deathwing's debut remains a pivotal point in WoW's history.

The 2024 Roadmap for World of Warcraft, outlining Cataclysm classic

For many people, World of Warcraft Classic was about revisiting an older Azeroth. When Cataclysm launched in 2010, it became impossible to do old quests or visit earlier versions of the game. Deathwing's globe-spanning tantrum changed more than the landscape. It also brought about the biggest single engine change for WoW.

The most immediately obvious change was flying. Players could fly in The Outlands and Northrend, but were grounded in the main game. Cataclysm added flight to the old world, plus introduced zones like Gilneas and Uldum.

Where does that leave us with World of Warcraft?

It feels a bit strange as we gear up to stand in the fires of Deathwing once more. This content is still currently available in retail World of Warcraft. Granted, so is the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King content, so it's not totally weird. The appeal of this Classic run is to play the game as it stood in 2010. While you can still do this story content in retail, the game doesn't quite play like it used to.

But, if you don't feel like moving forward with expansions, good ol' Classic is still available. The next phase of Season of Discovery and a new Hardcore mode are both live. And if you're not feeling nostalgic, The War Within is looming just over (under?) the horizon.

Cataclysm Classic is planned to launch on or by August 31, 2024.

We recently learned a lot more about The Dreadlords in the previous WoW expansion, Shadowlands. What we thought was another group within The Burning Legion turned out to be a faction from the realm of death. They've managed to infiltrate virtually every organization in the known cosmos. At least, according to a report of theirs.

These vampire-adjacent monsters are responsible for some of the most terrible atrocities on Azeroth. They guided the invasion of The Burning Legion, the creation of The Lich King, and even The Jailer's attempt to remake reality. The Unseen Guests, as they're also known, have been a thorn in players' sides since WarCraft III.

While it might be easy to think we've put an end to their sprawling, chaotic schemes; celebrations may be premature. For what better way to hide from your enemies than by having them dress like you? A truly cunning idea, is it not? Beware what you wear...
