Pirates VR: Jolly Roger
Aspiring buccaneers will soon be able to explore tropical islands and hunt for buried treasure from the comfort of their living rooms, as Pirates VR: Jolly Roger prepares to dock on Meta Quest 3 and 3S platforms on 5th February. The immersive pirate adventure, originally developed by Split Light Studio and brought to Meta Quest through a collaboration with Incuvo, promises players a chance to live out their swashbuckling fantasies in full VR.

The announcement came during today’s Upload VR Showcase, where Incuvo, the studio behind Green Hell VR and the recently released TRACKED: Shoot to Survive, revealed the upcoming Meta Quest release. Players on Steam and PlayStation VR have already had the chance to experience the game, but this marks its debut on Meta’s standalone headset platform.
Pirates VR: Jolly Roger drops players onto a sun-soaked tropical island where they’ll pursue the legendary treasure of Davy Jones whilst battling cursed pirates and undead skeletons. The game emphasises physical interaction, requiring players to light dark corners with lanterns, reload flintlock pistols, and navigate ziplines. A sarcastic parrot companion will join players on their adventure, because what self-respecting pirate would sail without one?

The VR experience has been specifically rebuilt and optimised for Meta Quest hardware, featuring exploration across beaches, rocky cliffs, and mysterious caves. Players will need to solve puzzles, avoid traps, and engage in combat whilst uncovering the island’s secrets. The developers promise that the immersive mechanics will require genuine coordination, with players potentially needing to duck, dive, or jump aside to avoid dangers.
Pirates VR: Jolly Roger will launch on 5th February for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, priced at $14.99. Early birds can secure a 13% preorder discount, bringing the price down to $12.99 for those ready to hoist their sails ahead of launch.
