Samsung has announced that its flagship robot vacuum cleaner, the BESPOKE AI Steam, will get even better at mopping. The company has released a new update that emphasizes cleaning the mopping pads, making the whole process even more hygienic.

BESPOKE AI Steam gets longer mop pad cleaning time

The BESPOKE AI Steam is Samsung's flagship robot vacuum cleaner for the South Korean market. Its closely matched US variant is the Jet Bot Vacuum with AI, which costs $1,700. The BESPOKE AI Steam is getting a new feature to make mopping even more hygienic. Samsung said it has released a new update to the BESPOKE AI Steam that will increase the steam concentration mode from 160 seconds to 240 seconds, an increase of 80 seconds.

The robot vacuum has a three-step mop-cleaning process. It includes mop washing using high-temperature water, mop sterilization using steam, and mop drying using hot air. The time it takes to complete this process was 180 seconds earlier, but it has been increased to 240 seconds to increase sterilization and deodorization.

Samsung claims the BESPOKE AI Steam can remove three types of bacteria from the floors: E. coli, Staphylococcus Aureus, and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. The robot vacuum is claimed to have a 99.99% sterilization effect and a 95% deodorization effect. Moreover, the UV LED installed inside the vacuum cleaner stops bacterial growth inside the dust collection bag.

The company says it plans to release an update to the BESPOKE AI Steam in the fourth quarter of this year. The robot vacuum would be able to detect if a person has collapsed on the floor and send a notification to their family members.

Thanks to all its cleaning, mopping, and sterilization features, the BESPOKE AI Steam is gaining popularity. Samsung says its sales have increased by 4x compared to last year.

Yoo Mi-young, Vice President of Samsung DX, said, “For consumers who are concerned about the hygiene and odor of mops during the hot and humid summer, we have updated the steam concentration mode to enable safe sterilization and deodorization without detergent,” adding, “We plan to continue to provide functional updates that reflect the needs of consumers in the future.“

Samsung has announced that according to a new analysis by Euromonitor, it sold the highest number of microwave ovens among all the brands in Europe last year, making 2023 the ninth consecutive year where the tech giant ranked first in the sector.
