Chrysolite Now Available on Xbox Series

The highly anticipated narrative-driven platformer, chrysolite, has made its debut on Xbox Series, alongside its release on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. This pixel-art 2D platformer, developed by solo developer José Manuel Conesa Hernández and published by Firenut Games, offers players an engaging experience filled with challenging gameplay and a captivating story.

Chrysolite stands out as a lovingly crafted game, combining elements of Metroidvania with a narrative that draws players into a world of mystery and danger. The game follows a young thief exploring the perilous remnants of a once-prosperous kingdom, uncovering clues to piece together the dark story of its downfall. The player’s journey is marked by encounters with terrifying monsters and intricate platforming sections, all depicted through beautiful hand-drawn illustrations.

Indie Arena Booth Showcases Top Indie Titles at Gamescom 2024

The Indie Arena Booth (IAB) at Gamescom 2024 is set to deliver an impressive collection of over 160 indie titles from 37 countries, ensuring that every visitor finds something to enjoy. Located in hall 10.2, booth F010g – E019, this year’s line-up promises a diverse range of games, from high-octane action to cozy, narrative-driven experiences.

Action-Packed Adventures and Cozy Escapes

For those seeking adrenaline-pumping action, games like Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, a Diablo-style hack-and-slash, and Sacre Bleu, a bullet time platforming shooter set during the escape from the Bastille, are sure to deliver. Somber Echoes offers a Metroidvania experience set in a Greco-Roman spaceship.

On the other hand, visitors looking for more relaxed gameplay can enjoy managing a fantasy pub in Tavern Talk, causing chaos as a chunky pomeranian in Doronko Wanko, or building a home as a small rodent in Winter Burrow.

Artistic and Narrative Masterpieces

The Indie Arena Booth also features games known for their unique art styles and storytelling. Keylocker combines anime design with cyberpunk aesthetics, 30 Birds draws inspiration from Persian art, and Hieronymus is influenced by the surreal fantasy world of Hieronymus Bosch.

Narrative enthusiasts can look forward to Moses and Plato – Last Train to Clawville, a detective adventure with fox detectives, The Darkest Files, a historical courtroom drama, and Goodbye Seoul, which offers a melancholic journey through a post-apocalyptic city.

This year’s “Games that defy categorization” category includes the quirky Henry Halfhead, which explores the life of half a head, and Netherworlds, featuring the bizarre adventures of a jellyfish guided by a drug-addicted magician. ANTRO, a rhythm puzzle platformer, has players running parkour to hip hop and electro beats.

The booth also hosts several world premieres, such as ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard, Morriton Manor Stories: Nordic Whispers, The Merlies, and Usual June. Fans can also try out highly anticipated titles like Slay the Princess – The Pristine Cut and Yes your Grace: Snowfall.
