How to complete Knee-Deep in the Ground in Of Ash and Steel

3. Prosinec 2025 v 13:47

Player in Of Ash and Steel

The Knee-Deep in the Ground quest is one of the tougher ones to complete in Of Ash and Steel, and this guide will help you to finish all the key steps quite easily.

The quest begins once you reach Nerest's House. You'll encounter an NPC named Mix in the nearby ruins, who will tell you about digging three different spots. Let's look at where you can find all three treasures to complete the quest.

Of Ash and Steel Knee-Deep in the Ground quest walkthrough

As I mentioned above, there are three treasures to dig from the ground.

Treasure 1 location

Take the path that goes past Mix. You'll find a set of treehouses along the path. From there, go straight, and you'll find a cave on your left. There's a level 15 enemy inside the cave, so the best trick is to lure the enemy away. Alternatively, you can draw it towards Mix, and he can take out the enemy. The chest is at the end of the cave. Dig using a shovel, and you'll get Camp Supplies, three Torches, and 30 Gold.

Go back to Mix and continue until you reach the main path. Turn left and continue along the path to reach the abandoned village. Go to the back of the village to find a dark gray spot behind the windmill to find the chest. This chest contains two Lockpicks and 50 Gold.

Treasure 3 location

The third and final one can be quite tricky to find. The quickest way to reach the spot is by leaving the Abandoned Village and reaching the ruined stone bridge. Keep spamming the jump button, and you should be able to grab the ledge on the other end.

Follow the path that leads you to the Woodcutter's Camp, and then go left. Keep following the path, and this will lead you to the ruins. The dig spot is towards the right of the ruins, going past the metal doorway. Open the chest, and you'll find 5 Peasant Lass consumables and 100 Gold.

Once you find all three chests, return to Mix. While you can keep at least half or more cold (based on your INS), he will ask you for another favor. However, this task is separate from the Knee-Deep in the Ground quest, which automatically ends once you speak with Mix (after finding all three chests).

How to get the Meoran Rapier in Of Ash and Steel

28. Listopad 2025 v 06:46

Player exploring in Of Ash and Steel

The brutal combat system in Of Ash and Steel can be pretty tricky, but finding the Meoran Rapier will make things slightly easier.

The piercing weapon has decent damage, but it also offers 110% attack speed. Once you invest sufficient points in Dexterity, the Meoran Rapier should easily carry you to the latter chapters. This guide will help you find out the weapon, and its location can be quite confusing.

How to obtain the Meoran Rapier in Of Ash and Steel

To obtain the weapon, you've to clear all the quests in the lead upto the first chapter. Starting Act 1 will be necessary to find the weapon. We will begin from the starting point (your hut) that you use as your base for clearing the quests. Chances are that you won't have access to the map, so we will use different structures for navigation.

Take the path that goes straight from the main entrance (as shown above) and continue straight until you reach a point where the road divides. Turn left, and continue straight on the new path. You'll come across a few broken-down structures to your right. Go past those until you come across a bridge on a set of rocks. There's an enemy at this location, and try not to engage it.

There are a few treehouses at this location (three of them), and the Meoran Rapier is in the highest one. To begin our ascent, use the rocks to reach the bridge. Run straight and jump from the ledge to get the first house. This place doesn't have anything to offer.

From there, jump on the nearest rock, and then jump once again to reach the second tree house. You'll find a book inside, and a ladder in front. Use the ladder to reach a set of creepy-crawlies. Climb to get on a platform. You'll now find a house in front of you.

This will be the most dangerous jump out of all, and you'll need to have momentum. Once you jump successfully, you can then find the Meoran Rapier inside the house. Make sure you have sufficient Dexterity to actually wield the weapon.

As Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 winds down, this new RPG is ready to be your next medieval adventure

24. Listopad 2025 v 20:00

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is one of the best RPGs I've played - however, despite Warhorse having a huge hit on its hands, it's zoomed through the game's post-launch slate, taking roughly ten months to get from launch to its third and final DLC, Mysteria Ecclesiae. It's confirmed that there's no more KCD2 on the horizon, and that's sad, but here's a project that might help ease your pain a little. Taking things out to third-person, new medieval RPG Of Ash and Steel is remarkably ambitious, despite the size of its development team. After a small delay, the game is now finally out on Steam.

Hardcore Gamers Look Set For a Promising Adventure in Of Ash and Steel

24. Listopad 2025 v 11:43

It feels like we’ve had a huge amount of cozy games and roguelites over the past couple of years, and very few in terms of harder RPG-style games. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had our fair share of soulslikes, but what I mean is that we haven’t had many of those somewhere-in-between games.

Of Ash and Steel is one of those, straying closer to soulslike than cozy, with challenging combat and very little guidance. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, here’s the quick breakdown.
