  • Each line of a group plan has the same $20-per-month cost as an individual plan.
  • Unfortunately, each person added to a group needs to be a new member, although this will change in the future.

Late last year, a young company called Helium Mobile stepped out of early access and into nationwide coverage. The company is a decentralized mobile network, meaning it is designed to work on individually owned and operated nodes rather than traditional cell towers. As a fallback solution, users connect with T-Mobile towers when Wi-Fi and the decentralized network aren’t available.

Helium’s entry to the scene was exciting, but it lacked a core tenet of mobile service: group plans. Today, the company is rectifying that by rolling out group plan support for up to eight lines.

Comcast is adding to its portfolio by introducing new mobile and internet services that can go up against the likes of prepaid carriers like Mint Mobile and others. These services will join NOW TV and NOW WiFi Pass under the NOW brand.

Today, Comcast announced it will be launching new Xfinity network-backed services called NOW Internet and NOW Mobile. These services are prepaid plans that you pay month-to-month and are said to include all-in pricing with no contracts or credit checks.

NOW Internet is described as a low-cost, flexible service that provides more reliability than existing fixed wireless options. Meanwhile, NOW Mobile offers unlimited 5G data, which is bolstered by access to over 23 million Wi-Fi hotspots.

As for pricing, NOW Internet offers 100 Mbps for $30 per month, while 200 Mbps will cost you $45 per month. Despite what plan you choose, you’ll also be given unlimited data and an Xfinity gateway. For NOW Mobile, you get unlimited 5G data, talk, and text for $25 per line.

While these services aren’t widely available yet, Comcast has been testing them in a few areas including Hartford, Houston, and Miami. The full-scale national launch is expected to occur in the coming weeks. When the official rollout happens, the two services will be available everywhere Comcast operates.

  • Visible has introduced its annual prepaid plans, allowing you to lock in a year of service and save on your monthly bill.
  • The Visible Plus annual plan costs $395 upfront, saving you $145 over the year.
  • The standard Visible annual plan costs $275 upfront, saving you $25 over the year.

Visible, the value-oriented wireless carrier, today announced the addition of annual payment plans for its Visible and Visible Plus service tiers. This expansion gives customers increased flexibility in how they pay for their cell phone service, with the potential for significant savings — particularly on the Visible Plus plan.

Both the Visible and Visible Plus annual plans offer cost benefits for those willing to prepay for a year. The Visible Plus annual plan is priced at $395, a $145 (26%) discount compared to the monthly rate of $45. The Visible annual plan is priced at $275, delivering a $25 savings over 12 months. New customers can sign up starting on April 17th, while existing customers will have the option to switch in May.

It’s clear that Visible is incentivizing customers to consider its Visible Plus plan with these new annual options. The higher-tier plan boasts unlimited talk, text, data, and hotspot capability while leveraging Verizon‘s 5G network. It also includes access to super-fast 5G Ultra Wideband (UWB) and a premium network experience. The standard Visible plan offers the same unlimited core features on Verizon’s 5G network, minus the UWB access.

Prepaying for a year of service might be a worthy consideration for Visible’s longstanding customers looking to switch to the Visible Plus plan or those confident they’re seeking an affordable long-term service provider.
