Back on July 10, 2024, Pocketpair announced on social media that Palworld Discord Shop animated avatar icon and profile cosmetic effects would be sold until July 24, 2024. On August 5, 2024, the company again took to social media to extend the run of the items in the official storefront until December 31, 2024. 

Here’s the announcement, which confirmed that the items will remain in the Discord Shop. It included official art of the Discord Wumpus mascot with the Pals Chillet, Cattiva, and Lamball. The reasoning for the extension is that fan demand showed a desire for the items to remain available for an extended period.

We ended up seeing nine Palworld avatar and profile items appear in the Discord Shop as part of the promotion. There’s also a Best Pals Forever Bundle that pairs the Wake Up profile design with Cattiva, Chikipi, and Lamball with the Chillet avatar cosmetic for $17.99. 

Here’s the list of all of the items in the storefront until the end of 2025. Some of them are inspired by the Sakurajima update that launched in June 2024, such as the cosmetic with Saya on it.

Since we first introduced Discord voice chat on PS5, players have joined a Discord voice chat on PS5 more than 290 million times to hang out with friends in Discord voice channels while gaming.

Today, we’re pleased to share that we’re starting to roll out the ability for PS5 players to join Discord voice chat directly from the PS5 console, without relying on the Discord PC or mobile apps to initiate the connection.

How to join Discord voice chat on PS5

To start, select the Discord tab in Game Base within the PS5 Control Center and choose the Discord server or DM group you’d like to join. Then, select your preferred voice channel. This will reveal more details, such as who is already in the channel chatting. You’ll also receive a PS5 console notification when another Discord user calls you, allowing you to join right away.

This update will make it easier than ever to quickly hop into Discord conversations with other gamers. It will gradually roll out over the coming weeks, starting with players in Japan/Asia, followed by Europe, Australia/New Zealand, and the Middle East, and finally the Americas.

Please note that you will need to update your console to the latest system software, and your accounts for PlayStation Network and Discord must be linked. If you haven’t yet linked accounts, you can learn how to do so here.

Profile Share also begins rolling out next week

Discord has taken action after a report earlier this month detailed a web of accounts that were tracking users and archiving messages on a massive scale.

The report, by 404 Media, claimed that over 4bn public messages - including voice data - of up to 620 million users had been scooped up by bots across some of Discord's biggest servers, including for games such as Minecraft and Among Us.

This data had then been packaged up for sale - for as little as $5 (£4) - by the now-defunct website Spy.pet, which advertised the data as a way for companies to train AI models or for "federal agents looking for a new source of intel".

Senior viceprezident společnosti Discord pro produkty Peter Sellis uvedl, že hráči budou mít možnost personalizované propagační akce vypnout tím, že se z nich odhlásí prostřednictvím nastavení služby Discord. Tyto propagační akce však budou stále viditelné prostřednictvím specifických oken v aplikaci Discord.
