Roster Attribute Update 2 Brings New Diamonds to MLB The Show 24! - Main Image

MLB The Show 24 Roster Attribute Update 2 is here, which means new Diamonds have arrived at Diamond Dynasty. These players saw their attributes and ratings boosted due to their great performances in real life.

If you have one of the new cards that were promoted to the Diamond tier you will be able to make a good amount of Stubs or use it to upgrade your squad.

7 New Diamonds Have Arrived at Diamond Dynasty!

As mentioned above, the MLB The Show 24 Roster Attribute Update 2 takes into consideration the players' real-life performances to either upgrade or downgrade their OVRs and attributes.

In this update we had seven new players reach the Diamond tier, with their ratings and attributes being significantly upgraded. Here are the new Diamond players in MLB The Show 24:

  • Gunnar Henderson
  • Cody Bellinger
  • Dylan Cease
  • Mason Miller
  • Emmanuel Clase
  • Pablo Lopez
  • Sonny Gray

Apart from the players listed above, a plethora of MLB and MiLB players were updated, with their attributes and ratings either receiving an upgrade or a downgrade.

Some saw their card tier downgraded together with their OVR and attributes, while most just had a small decrease in their rating and attributes.

The cards that went up a tier also saw their value go up, so you can make a good amount of Stubs by selling them. However, you can also use them to upgrade your squad, or to help you complete the Team Affinity Season 1 Chapter 3 challenges, collecting all the great rewards it includes in an easy and fast way.

However, many also went up a tier, with some players reaching the Silver, Gold, and Diamond tiers, for the first time since the game was released.

Homestretch Choice Pack

The Homestretch Choice Pack arrived at Diamond Dynasty on Friday 10 May at 12 pm PST (3 pm ET / 7 pm BST).

This choice pack includes seven incredible cards, with four of them having a 99 OVR while the remaining two have a 97 OVR. These cards are:

  • 99 OVR Trevor Story
  • 99 OVR Kodai Senga
  • 99 OVR Max Clark
  • 99 OVR Samuel Basallo
  • 97 OVR Sean Murphy

The base round is where you will find the three 97 OVR cards, while the mid and rare rounds only have 99 OVR cards. This pack costs 40k Stubs and players are limited to three packs.

All of the 99 OVR cards have some incredible attributes, especially the 99 OVR Trevor Story and Max Clark cards, which will provide your squad with a massive boost in the hitting and pitching department.

These cards can also be useful to complete the challenges of the Season Awards program or the Team Affinity Season 1 Chapter 3 program, making it easier to collect all of the program's rewards.

MLB The Show 24 has revealed The Show Classics series, a promo series that includes the most popular cards from previous years and diverse promos and programs.

The Show Classics series will include players from the previous Monthly Awards, Future Stars, and Postseason promos, among many others. It brings back some beloved players that players can once again use in their Diamond Dynasty squad.

So let's find out everything about the unique The Show Classics series promo.

Great cards are returning to Diamond Dynasty!

The Show Classics series promo arrives at Diamond Dynasty on 10 April, at around 12pm PT/ 8pm BST. As mentioned above, it brings some incredible cards from previous years.

It's expected these cards possess great attributes and quirks since they all have a high rating. Most of these cards will jump right into your starting lineup, while others can add some depth to your squad.

The players coming in the first The Show Classics choice pack are:

  • 91 OVR Logan Webb
  • 91 OVR Kyle Lewis
  • 91 OVR Miguel Andujar
  • 94 OVR Taylor Trammell
  • 94 OVR Mike Soroka
  • 95 OVR Nick Castellanos
  • 95 OVR Edward Cabrera

All of these players will be available in The Show Classics choice pack, which is expected to cost at least 40K Stubs, and can also have a limit of packs per player.

Unfortunately, there is no other way to acquire these players other than buying The Show Classics choice pack.

The community isn't happy about this new promo series

Despite introducing some great players, the MLB The Show community isn't exactly thrilled to see The Show Classics series arriving at Diamond Dynasty.

That's mainly because all the cards in the promo are expected to only be available on the choice pack. This means players will need to spend money to acquire these cards, which possess some great attributes, making the game more pay-to-win.

Locking great cards behind a paywall is something the MLB The Show community doesn't appreciate, especially when some of those cards are much better than the upcoming Team Affinity cards.

Players who want to be competitive feel like they are being forced to spend money on the game, especially since the cards that can be earned for free are nowhere near as good as the ones behind a paywall.

It seems MLB The Show 24 is going in a similar direction to NBA 2K24, introducing a plethora of content that is behind a paywall and making it impossible for no money spent users to be competitive or enjoy the game.

Hopefully, that is not the case and the best The Show Classics series cards will be available in a future program for free.

MLB The Show 24 is considered by many critics one of the best sports games of 2024, as it delivers an immersive experience, makes improvements to many features, and also introduces new ones.

One of the features most players wanted MLB The Show 24 to bring back was cross play. This feature would allow users to play against players from other platforms, making the game even more entertaining.

So let's find out if MLB The Show 24 is cross-platform, or if Sony San Diego Studio has thrown fans a curveball.

Is MLB The Show 24 cross platform?

For the second straight year, MLB The Show 24 is cross-platform. MLB The Show 24 supports cross-play on all consoles, both from the current and old generation. This means PS5 users can play with PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and even Nintendo Switch players.

The game also has cross-progression, which allows users to transfer their Stubs, cards, and XP, from one MLB The Show 24 account to another from a different platform. To do that, players only need to have their accounts linked to each other.

The cross-platform feature makes modes such as Diamond Dynasty and Co-op much more entertaining and also challenging. It allows players to play ranked with their friends, in a 2v2 or 3v3 setting which is highly entertaining.

Cross-platform also makes it possible to face friends from different platforms. This allows friends to battle it out and see who is the superior player in the diamond, which is incredibly fun but can also be very competitive.

How to activate cross play in MLB The Show 24

To activate cross play in MLB The Show 24, you will need to click your profile icon and then select the cross play option, which should already be active.

If that is not the case, simply change the Cross Play status to On and you are good to go. Then, you just need to enjoy playing ranked Co-op with your friends or facing off against users from other platforms.

We hope this article answered all of your questions about cross play in MLB The Show 24.

Speed is an essential attribute in MLB The Show 24 and players who are considerably faster than their opponents have a significant advantage. Fast players have an easier time stealing bases and reaching balls, and can even turn their teammate's mistakes into a great play.

Having fast players in your lineup can hugely benefit you, and it will certainly help you in your quest to lift the World Series trophy.

So let's find out who are the fastest players in MLB The Show 24 Franchise mode.

Fastest players in MLB The Show 24

As mentioned above, fast players can be difference-makers. In this article, we will only look at the player's speed attribute, so forget fielding or hitting attributes as they aren't relevant in this case.

However, it's worth noting that if you want to find success in Franchise mode fielding and hitting attributes are crucial. It's almost impossible to win with just fast players, so pay attention to your players' fielding and hitting attributes when building your squad.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the fastest players in MLB The Show 24.

Corbin Carroll (91 OVR)

Speed: 99

Team: Arizona Diamondbacks

Position: Outfielder

There are four players with a 99 speed attribute, but none of them is as good as Corbin Carroll. The Arizona Diamondbacks Outfielder had a historic rookie year, setting a rookie record of 54 steals.

So it's only natural that paired with 99 speed Carroll has a 99 steal attribute. This makes him incredibly fast and spectacular at stealing bases.

Bubba Thompson (91 OVR)

Speed: 99

Team: Minnesota Twins

Position: Outfielder

Bubba Thompson possesses an incredible 99 speed in MLB The Show 24, and the Minnesota Twins Outfielder is almost as fast as the Flash.

Thompson sits in second place on this list because of his equally impressive 99 steal attribute. So if you are pitching and Thompson is on-base be very careful.

Trea Turner (92 OVR)

Speed: 99

Team: Philadelphia Phillies

Position: Infielder

Another year another 99 speed for Trea Turner in MLB The Show. The Philadelphia Phillies superstar Infielder continues to be among the fastest players in the game, and rightly so.

Turner also has a great 92 steal attribute, making him one of the best base stealers in the game as well.

Jorge Mateo (76 OVR)

Speed: 99

Team: Baltimore Orioles

Position: Infielder

Similar to Turner, Jorge Mateo is also making the top five fastest players for the second year in a row. The Baltimore Orioles Infielder also boosts an impressive 99 speed and is the last player of the 99 speed club in MLB The Show 24.

Mateo's 91 steal attribute also makes him a dangerous base stealer and a player you always need to have your eyes on.

Esteury Ruiz (67 OVR)

Speed: 94

Team: Oakland Athletics

Position: Outfielder

Closing the top five fastest players in MLB The Show 24 we have Esteury Ruiz with 94 speed.

The Oakland Athletics Outfielder also has an incredible 99 steal attribute, making him a threat every time he is on base.

MLB The Show 24: Huge features are coming to RTTS and Franchise

MLB The Show 24: Huge features are coming to RTTS and Franchise - Main Image

The latest MLB The Show 24 Feature Premiere finally addressed the RRTS and Franchise modes. Fans had been waiting for some news related to these two game modes for quite a while, and MLB The Show 24 finally revealed everything about them.

This Feature Premiere introduced some new and exciting features coming to the Franchise and RTTS modes. However, it's still hard to say if these new additions will be able to revitalize both modes.

Without further ado, let's find out everything about the MLB The Show 24 RTTS and Franchise Feature Premiere.

A breath of fresh air for RTTS

The first thing this Feature Premiere revealed is that you no longer can add your RTTS ballplayer to Diamond Dynasty. This was something the MLB The Show community had been asking for quite some time, so Sony San Diego Studio decided to listen to its players and remove that feature from the game.

This Feature Premiere also confirmed that the defensive Impact Plays feature, which was revealed in the Derek Jeter Storylines Feature Premiere, is also coming to RTTS.

The defensive Impact Plays feature improves the player's chance of making great defensive plays and makes the RTTS gameplay feel more immersive and realistic.

MLB The Show 24 is also introducing new Quick Time Events for every defensive position. Players' performances in these events will be highly impactful in the outcome of the game.

The Feature Premiere also talked about the Women Pave Their Way mode, which for the first time ever allows players to create a female ballplayer and play through a unique storyline.

Finally some new Franchise features

It's true Franchise fans, MLB The Show 24 is actually introducing new features to the game mode.

The first feature introduced is called "Custom Game Entry", and allows players to set custom game conditions when simulating a Franchise game. When these conditions are met players will automatically jump into the live game

The prospect draft logic was improved in MLB The Show 24, especially regarding undrafted, unsigned and injury prospect players.

MLB The Show 24 is also introducing the PPI to the Franchise mode. It's based on a new MLB rule that encourages teams to promote their best prospect in exchange for draft pick compensation. This new feature allows you to do just that.

In this year's Franchise mode players will also finally be able to see awards in the player cards. This might seem like a small change but it makes a huge difference and is also something fans have been wanting for a long time.

Last but not least, players can finally start a save with a roster that contains all the latest real-life injuries. This makes the Franchise mode so much more realistic, and also saves players some time, as they no longer need to download custom rosters.

MLB The Show 24: RTTS introduces new career mode for female players

MLB The Show 24: RTTS introduces new career mode for female players - Main Image

MLB The Show 24 has just announced a huge new feature coming to the Road To The Show game mode. For the first time ever, players can create a female ballplayer and experience a unique story that evolves throughout their careers.

The Women Pave Their Way mode includes all the features of Road To The Show, but adds a special storyline that follows a lifelong friendship of two female ballplayers who want to break barriers and make history.

So let's find out everything about the Women Pave Their Way mode.

A mode that makes RTTS the most inclusive it has ever been

The addition of the Women Pave Their Way mode to Road To The Show is great news, as it finally allows female fans to create a female ballplayer, making their experiences much more immersive.

It adds a new storyline all players can enjoy and also helps shed some light on all the challenges that women in baseball face. Furthermore, it also helps revitalize the RTTS mode which has felt very stale in the last couple of years.

Women Pave Their Way storyline

As mentioned above, the Women Pave Their Way mode follows the story of two lifelong friends who are chasing their dreams. Your RTTS ballplayer friend is called Mia Lewis, and your relationship with her will develop as you progress in your career.

The Mia Lewis character represents the female baseball community, especially the great support that exists in that growing community. In the story, you will see all the challenges that female players face, as your ballplayer and Mia Lewis make your way to the MLB.

What makes this mode truly unique is that your career path might change with each playthrough, making the mode more interesting and enjoyable to play. This mode also introduces new MLB network segments and commentary.

MLB The Show 24: Huge changes coming to Diamond Dynasty revealed

MLB The Show 24: Huge changes coming to Diamond Dynasty revealed - Main Image

Today, the MLB The Show 24 developers released a blog post where they revealed all the changes coming to Diamond Dynasty, and what they mean to the game.

To the joy of most MLB The Show players, the Sets system is gone and was replaced by the In-Season Cards system. The Seasonal Diamond Dynasty feature was also introduced, while Wild Card Slots are returning but with a slight difference.

So let's go through all the changes Diamond Dynasty will undergo.

A new season format

In MLB The Show 24, the Diamond Dynasty seasons are 12 weeks long, and each season will have exclusive cards. This is done in an attempt to bring back the feeling of improving your squad from lower to higher-rated cards but in a more fast-paced manner.

The Team Affinity content drops will also be more frequent in MLB The Show 24, providing players with more ways to improve their squad.

Goodbye Sets, hello In-Season Cards

The Sets system is gone, which was something that MLB The Show players wanted to happen. To replace it, we have the brand-new In-Season Cards.

In-Season Cards are cards released during an active season that you can immediately add to your squad. As a new season begins, cards from the previous season can only be used in a Wild Card slot.

This means that when season 2 starts, cards that were released throughout season 1 can't all enter your squad. To add them to your squad you need to place them in the Wild Card slot, but you have a maximum of four Wild Card slots.

It's a way developers found to make Diamond Dynast feel fresh, as it forces players to rebuild their squads, and gives the chance to lower-rated cards to also shine.

Wild Card Slots are back

As mentioned above, the Wild Card Slots are back but with a slight change. In MLB The Show 24, you will be able to unlock Wild Card Slots, four in total, by progressing in the Season XP Reward Path.

This will only be possible starting in season 2. It adds another layer to squad building, and players will need to think carefully about which cards from previous seasons they want to place in their Wild Card Slots.

Cornerstone cards are making their debut

Cornerstone cards are captain cards but with special abilities, that players can use to build their team around. At the start of each season, players will get a Cornerstone Choice Pack where they can select one of the four cards included in it.

Each Cornerstone card offers different team boosts, but all of them have great attributes. The Season 1 Cornerstone Cards are Nolan Arenado, Byron Buxton, Kodai Senga and Greg Maddux.

Players will also receive a Seasonal Starter bundle that includes five packs. This will help players build their squads at the beginning of each season.

More Team Affinity content drops

Team Affinity is one of the favourite MLB The Show programs, and always delivers some great cards. In MLB The Show 24 we will have more Team Affinity content than ever before.

Instead of just releasing once per season, Team Affinity will now be released three times during a season. That means we will see new Team Affinity content arriving at Diamond Dynasty once every four weeks.

Each Team Affinity content release will bring 30 new player cards, one for each MLB team. Furthermore, new packs and other Team Affinity rewards will be added to the MLB The Show 24 reward path.

No more 99 OVRs at launch

The community spoke and the MLB The Show 24 developers listened. This year's title won't have any 99 OVR cards available at launch, with the highest-rated season 1 cards starting at 91 OVR.

As the season progresses, better cards will be released gradually, until they reach the 99 OVR cards.

More sellable rewards and free packs

MLB The Show 24 is making some significant changes to the Diamond Dynasty economy. Players will now receive free weekly packs, ranked programs now feature sellable rewards, the Battle Royale Flawless was reduced to 10-0, and events last for two weeks.

All of this gives players more time and more chances to earn rewards, get stubs, and improve their squad.

These changes are huge for Diamond Dynasty and I think will be able to revitalize the mode to a certain extent. They certainly make the game mode more enjoyable, exciting and immersive.

MLB The Show 24 has just announced a plethora of gameplay improvements, which aim to improve the player's gaming experience and make the game as immersive as possible.

These improvements include new animations, new throws, new base sizes and the addition of four new pitching gestures. Furthermore, AI is also smarter and more efficient in this year's title.

So, without further ado, let's find out all the gameplay improvements MLB The Show 24 is introducing.

MLB The Show 24 gameplay improvements

The MLB The Show 24 gameplay improvements aim to take the game to a new level, making it the most realistic and enjoyable gaming experience possible.

To do that, 400 new animations were added and others tuned, with logic improvements being made to all of them. The main focus is "fielder urgency", something the community has complained about for a long time and that MLB The Show 24 is finally addressing.

As mentioned above, plenty of first base throws animations were also introduced, making first base throws more efficient. Pitcher animations also underwent some changes, with more animations now allowing pitchers "to step off to fake throw and potentially nab the runner".

The base sizes were changed in MLB The Show 24, and because of that improved logic and tag animations were added. This was done to account for the extra coverage needed.

When it comes to the Pinpoint Pitching feature, the game is introducing four new pitching gestures and some changes to the sinker pitch. The sinker pitch is now substantially more difficult to perform, which was exactly what the MLB The Show community had been asking for.

It's also worth noting that, players will now be able to experience the Pinpoint Pitching feature from a lefty’s perspective.

Hitting will remanin untocuhed in MLB The Show 24

While pitchers underwent plenty of changes, with new throw animations and even four new pitching gestures introduced, hitting will remain unchanged.

According to the MLB The Show developers, they are quite happy with the current state of hitting, especially because they received a lot of positive feedback from the community regarding the changes introduced to the feature in MLB The Show 23.

If it ain't broke don't change it and developers decided to do just that. So you can expect hitting to feel the same in this year's title as it did in the previous one.

However, I'm not sure these small gameplay improvements are enough to captivate players to buy the game. MLB The Show 24 needs to announce some new and exciting features and do it as soon as possible, as the game launch date is quickly approaching.

We expect more information about the game, especially new features, to be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
