VV Ultimatum Hollow Trait Tier List [RELEASE]
This Hollow Traits guide is in two parts where the first part is the overall tier list for the general power of each trait. Then, we’ll dive into the best traits for individual builds since a specific trait can be weak for one build and strong for another. Here’s my VV Ultimatum Hollow Trait tier list and guide.

Best Hollow Trait in VV Ultimatum
The best Hollow traits for each build are in the S-Tier and I would generally bring Iron Skin on all of them. Then, the A-Tier has some great third and fourth-slot options. The B-Tier is for situational traits that can be a filler for you build and I wouldn’t use the C-Tier traits since they’re much weaker than the rest. Check out the individual ranking reasons for all Hollow Traits below.

S-Tier Hollow Traits
| Hollow Trait | Ranking Breakdown | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Iron Skin Visual Effect: You gain thick iron-like skin, similar to an Arrancar’s Hierro. | • Great defensive tool for any build • Especially Hakuda, Speed and Strength | +4% Melee Defense +35% Posture Regen |
| Wings Visual Effects: Gain large wings | • Must-have for any Speed build • Great for Hakuda and Strength too | +3% Movement Speed +5% Shunpo Stamina +3% Shunpo Speed |
| Deadly Claws Visual Effects: Blunt attacks become sharp | • Must-have for Hakuda builds | +3% Hakuda Damage +0.1 Max AP |
| Tailbone Visual Effects: Long bony tail | • Must-have for Kido builds | Increased cero damage by 20% Cero is 25% thinner |
A-Tier Hollow Traits
| Hollow Trait | Ranking Breakdown | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Energized Visual Effects: Explosive power bubbles beneath your skin | • Great second/third trait for a Kido build after Tailbone | +2% Kido Damage Weapon damage slightly scales off your kido stat. |
| Dense Muscles Visual Effects: Increased muscle density. | • Great second/third trait for Strength, Hakuda and Speed builds | +1% Weapon Damage +1% Hakuda Damage Ressureccion duration increased by 45s |
| Exoskeleton Visual Effects: You get a stronger skeletal structure | • Exoskeleton and Giant serve the same purpose as your second tanking trait after Iron Skin • They’re not a must-have but an extra defensive option if you need it (Don’t take all three) • I prefer Exoskeleton due to the health pack and posture plus a lower speed reduction | +2% Melee Defense +5 Posture 15% Bigger healthpack from Resurrection -2% Movement Speed |
| Giant Visual Effects: Your model becomes slightly bigger | • Exoskeleton and Giant serve the same purpose as your second tanking trait after Iron Skin • They’re not a must-have but an extra defensive option if you need it (Don’t take all three) • Giant is more defense if you prefer it but you’re also slower • Still worthwhile as your second tanking trait | +5% Melee Defense +2% Kido defense -5% Movement Speed |
B-Tier Hollow Traits
| Hollow Trait | Ranking Breakdown | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Back Scales Visual Effects: Get an Insect-like vertebrae | • A decent fourth Kido build trait • It’s not as powerful straight-up as Tailbone and Energized though due to the drawback • The prolonged Resurrection is pretty good though | Cero Charges 12% Faster Resurrection duration increased by 45s Cero damage reduced by 5% |
| Skinny Visual Effect: Become a skinnier hollow | • Decent alternative for a Speed build to help you dodge AOEs and other moves • Much weaker than Wings and and Dense Muscles on a Speed build due to you taking extra damage | +7.5% Movement Speed -1.2% Melee Defense |
C-Tier Hollow Traits
| Hollow Trait | Ranking Breakdown | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Horns Visual Effect: Gain large horns | • Decent for Kido builds but not needed since the hitbox is already pretty responsive • Not worth over other Kido traits in the higher-tiers | Increased cero width of 35% Increased cero length of 10% |
| Tentacles Visual Change: Gain twin tentacles | • Overall, not as good as other damage traits since you’ll, on average, trigger it once in 6-7 hits which means those 5-6 hits that didn’t trigger it were with a damage debuff and the poison usually doesn’t make up for it DPS-wise | 16% chance to inflict poison damage on melee attacks -1% Weapon Damage |
| Innocuous Presence | • It’s great for avoiding PVP ganks but it’s not really a strong part of any build | Your name is hidden Your reiatsu signature is hidden Resurrection duration increased by 20s +5% Movement Speed |

How to Get and Change Hollow Traits
Hollow Traits are part of the Hollow progression and you can get them as a Gillian, Adjuchas or Vasto Lorde by eating dead hollows. All traits can be dropped by any hollow. You can refuse a trait if you don’t want it (Check the tier list and builds above for the ones you need). You cannot gain traits as an Arrancar. After evolving to Arrancar, Hollow Traits will only be active during your Resurrection mode. The amount of traits you can have depends on your current stage:
- Base: 2 Traits
- Adjuchas: 3 Traits
- Vasto Lorde: 4 Traits
