Stardew Valley’s Nintendo Switch 2 Version Now Available for Free if You Already Own the Game on Your Switch
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley just got shadow-dropped not long ago, and if you already own it on your Switch, you can get it for free!
This is after developer Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, confirmed back in September that he’s working on an update for the game on Nintendo Switch 2.
And on Christmas, the update got a surprise release, which you can find on the Nintendo eShop for only $14.99. As mentioned, existing owners on their Switch can get the update for free.

What the Switch 2 Version of Stardew Valley Features
That said, the Switch 2 version comes with a bunch of exciting changes that players can look forward to.
For starters, the Switch 2 version comes with a 4-player split-screen co-op, support for mouse controls, and an online multiplayer feature that can support a total of 8 players.
Talking about the mouse controls, this means you can now move your furniture around with ease, not to mention that organizing your inventory is now made more convenient. This allows you to make full use of the new Joy-Con’s features.
Apart from that, the Game Share feature available in Switch 2 means you can play a four-player co-op with your friends by using just a single copy of the game!

However, it’s worth noting that ConcernedApe noted that the Switch 2 version has some unspecified issues that he’s currently working on. He assures fans that these issues will be fixed as soon as possible.
On his tweet over at X (formerly Twitter), ConcernedApe said:
“I am aware that there are some issues with the Nintendo Switch 2 edition that just dropped. I take full responsibility for this mistake. We will fix this as soon as possible.”
As of this writing, it seems that Stardew Valley’s Switch 2 version is currently only available in certain time zones.
