Ubisoft close a studio weeks after the workers vote to unionise

Ubisoft, which received €1.16bn investment in 2025 from Tencent,  have closed its studio in Halifax, Canada, with the shutdown coming just a few weeks after the employees voted to unionise.  The studio had been running for over ten years.

“Over the past 24 months, Ubisoft has undertaken company-wide actions to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs,” said a Ubisoft spokesperson. “As part of this, Ubisoft has made the difficult decision to close its Halifax studio. 71 positions will be affected. We are committed to supporting all impacted team members during this transition with resources, including comprehensive severance packages and additional career assistance.”

Employees at Ubisoft Halifax formed a union under CWA Canada, which also includes employees from Bethesda Montreal, on December 18th, 2025. 74% of the staff voted in favour of the move.

“In an era marked by industry-wide uncertainty, studio closures, layoffs, and increasing instability, we want to make clear our commitment to one another and to our craft,” they stated at the time.

CWA Canada has not made any official comment about the timing of the two events, but is “demanding information”. “Today’s news is devastating,” commented CWA Canada president, Carmel Smyth. “We will pursue every legal recourse to ensure that the rights of these workers are respected and not infringed in any way.”

Rockstar Games was recently accused of ‘union busting’ after firing 30 employees who belonged to a union, stating that the employees were fired for sharing company information in a public forum. This has been denied by the staff.

Following the dismissals last week, the IWGB branded it as “a brazen act of illegal union busting”, with IWGB president Alex Marshall calling it “a calculated attack on workers organising for a collective voice and to improve their difficult working conditions.”

The Sims 4 final expansion has been leaked

The alleged last expansion pack for The Sims 4 has leaked thanks to the ever-reliable South Korean ratings board. The pack is titled Royalty & Legacy, and the brief description states that “The 21st expansion pack for The Sims 4 allows players to become nobles and build a long-lasting dynasty.”

The pack is rumoured to launch in February 2026 and may well be the last ever expansion for The Sims 4 as EA focus on their new Sims game, The Sims Project X.

The Sims Project X is said to be a standalone game but EA are also working on The Sims Project Rene, a multiplayer instalment.

The Sims 4 has been a long-running hit for EA and developer Maxis, launching in September 2014 on PC and subsequently ported to mobile, Mac, and consoles. The game went free-to-play in October 2022 and has gained over 85 million players in its lifetime, with over 30 million of those added since it went free-to-play.

The most recent pack, Adventure Awaits, introduced the Getaway Planner, a system that lets Sims schedule and customise trips and holidays, and also expanded the childhood gameplay.

The Sims are also headed to the cinema with Electronic Arts partnering with LuckyChap – the production company of Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerly, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr – and Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment to make it happen.

Kate Herron, who’s best known for directing season one of Loki, is set to tackle the transformation from computer to big screen, and she will be co-writing the screenplay with Briony Redman.

What’s pretty likely is that The Sims will end up following a similar template to Barbie and The Lego Movie that went before, bending the game/toy world in a self-referential way and snapping it out into the real world.

Expect there to be references to the aforementioned “woo-hoo!”, perhaps some kind of reverence to or fourth wall breaking surrounding the iconic green control jewel that hovers over a person’s head, and the inevitable incident where someone gets stuck in a swimming pool because the ladder suddenly disappears or wets themselves because the toilet was deleted.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced domain registered

It appears Ubisoft have settled on a name for their heavily leaked remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag as a domain has been registered with the game’s name and “Resynced” added to the end.

The Black Flag Resynced domain was registered 25 days ago by a company Ubisoft has used previously, including for the registration of the latest Prince of Persia game.  Ubisoft have said they would be plundering their back catalogue for remakes and remasters but they have yet to officially announce this remake. That has not stopped lots of details leaking out.

It seems like the remake, which will use Anvil Pipeline engine, is going to feature some fairly big changes. The most notable change will be the removal of all the modern-day sequences so we will not see Rebbeca, Shaun and the others. The modern-day plot, which worked really well in the first few games with Desmond, has gradually been side-lined and only appears as text in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Replacing it will be “a few extra hours of content” including content that was cut from the original release, such as parts of Mary Read’s story.

Gameplay is said to be closer to the RPG style of the more recent games, with loot, stats for weapons, and a new inventory. The combat is is also said to lean more towards the style of the recent games. The map is the same size but will have more things to do, and modern systems mean there will be no loading screens when docking your ship and heading to land.

The report from the respected Jeux Vidéo Magazine suggests the game will now launch in early 2026, probably in March, which is a little later than previous reports. Ubisoft Singapore, Belgrade and Bordeaux are working on it, and some assets from Skull & Bones may be reused to save costs.

Sony had previously announced that from January 2026, PS4 games will no-longer be a guaranteed part of the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup. Cross-gen games that have a PS4 version could certainly still be included – and there’s still tons of PS4 games being released – but it’s not going to be a requirement anymore.

Here’s Sony’s statement from the PS Blog:

As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026. As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026. We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date.

Please note, this won’t affect the PS4 Monthly Games that you have already redeemed from PlayStation Plus. You’ll continue to have access to games you’ve already redeemed as long as you remain a member.  For Game Catalog, PS4 games will still be available to play until it leaves the catalog as part of our monthly refresh.

We’ll continue to evolve the experience of PlayStation Plus and optimize the benefits you receive, including exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, online game save storage and more. As we shift our focus to PS5, we look forward to adding new PS5 titles monthly for you to enjoy.

The PS Plus January 2026 games should be officially revealed later today on the PlayStation Blog.

What are the PS Plus December 2025 Monthly Games?

There’s a big bundle of titles for PS Plus this month, available from Tuesday, 2nd December until January 6th, 2026

Rainbow Six Siege is back online – Ubisoft says “no indication” of personal data being stolen [Updated]

Update 30/12/25 – A Ubisoft spokesperson has issued a statement with some further details and reassurances over the reports of hacking affecting Rainbow Six Siege X over the weekend.

With the game back online, Ubisoft’s investigation is ongoing, but notes that actual effects were able to be rolled back and that neither personal data or game source code was compromised.

Here’s the statement:

Rainbow Six Siege recently experienced a cyberattack causing limited disruptions, including fake ban notifications and unauthorized credit grants. While we are continuing our investigation, as of this time, there is no indication that any personal data nor source code was compromised as a result of this incident. To help resolve the issue, we initiated a temporary server shutdown and rolled back the unauthorized credit grants. Rainbow Six Siege is currently back online and players are returning to the game.

The original story follows.

Rainbow Six Siege X is now back online after the servers were shut down for over two days while Ubisoft dealt with a massive security breach.  In the evening of 26th December players began to notice billions of in-game currency being added to their accounts and super rare skins being dropping into their inventories. Other players were banned, and some were unbanned.

Ubisoft have now rolled back all the data so players should have the correct amount of in-game credit, known as Renown. They state that players may find themselves in a queue to get back in to the game.

The event has kicked off a war of words between various hacking groups who are claiming they are responsible, and also that one groups have stolen the source code for every Ubisoft game. These claims seem to be an exaggeration and probably not true.

However, there is evidence to suggest that Ubisoft were not hacked at all. It is reported that Ubisoft had outsourced helpdesk support to a company in India and that an employee there was bribed to give “Panel Access” to a third party. This then gave the third party access to user accounts, ban functions and other facilities. If this is true then Ubisoft were not hacked, it was bribery and human corruption that caused the issues.

It is also reported that another group is contacting people on Telegram claiming they have their personal details from hacking Ubisoft, and they are demanding money. This appears to be a scam and they have no connection to the group that breached the Rainbow Six servers. Ubisoft have, so far, not stated that any user data was breached.

Ubisoft overhauled the decade-old tactical shooter in June of this year, renaming it Rainbow Six Siege X, and added a whole host of technical improvements, as well as transitioning the game to a free-to-play model.

Rainbow Six is also one of three games hived off to a separate Ubisoft company, along with Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry.

Konami want to release one Silent Hill game every year

Konami’s Motoi Okamoto, producer of the Silent Hill franchise, has said that the company hopes to release a Silent Hill game every year.

“Following the release of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024, we were able to deliverSilent Hill f  in September 2025, and the Silent Hill series is now back on track,” said Okamoto (via Google Translate). “We aim to release about one title per year, including both announced and unannounced titles. We’re not sure how far we can achieve this, but we’ll do our best as the producer of the Silent Hill series. Ideally, we’d like to keep the buzz around Silent Hill constant. We’ll do our best to provide you with new updates, so we hope you’ll wait a little longer.”

The announced games are Silent Hill Townfall, which is in development at No Code, and a remake of the original Silent Hill by Bloober Team is also in the works. There’s also the new Silent Hill film that was meant to be out in 2025, but that seems rather unlikely now.  Bloober Team announced the remake of the first Silent Hill game in June 2025 and at the time said they had been working on for three years. Quite why Konami remade Silent Hill 2 first is a bit odd, but they must have had their reasons.

It seems that Konami are going to farm out the Silent Hill IP to different development teams to create games, so they may not all be in the classic Silent Hill mould.

Nick loved Silent Hill f and gave it 10/10 in his review. “Silent Hill f isn’t just a return to form, it’s a landmark entry in the series. Konami. NeoBards and Ryukishi07 have knocked it out of the park. For me, this isn’t just Game of the Year material, it’s an integral piece of Silent Hill history.”

Rainbow Six Siege remains offline after hackers give players billions of credits

This story has an update which you can read here.

…..

The servers for Rainbow Six Siege X have been offline for over twenty-four hours after hackers managed to get into the hardware, gifting billions of in-game currency and unbanning players.  The official Rainbow Six Siege  server status page is rather coyly calling this an “unplanned outage”.

The issues began late on the 26th December when players started noticing billions of currency, known as Renown, dropping into their accounts. Ubisoft’s anti-cheat software then started suspending accounts. Others found strange messages appearing on the side of the screen, or super-rare skins in their inventory.

Ubisoft have shut down all servers for all platforms and have posted a couple of updates. Firstly they say that no one will be banned if they managed to spend any of the credits they received, but a rollback of accounts is in progress to remove the pirate treasure.  They also say the ban ticker that was turned off in an old update had been reinstated, but will now be removed again, and “an official R6 ShieldGuard ban wave did occur, but it is not related to this incident.”

“A rollback is currently ongoing and afterwards, extensive quality control tests will be executed to ensure the integrity of accounts and effectiveness of changes,” posted Ubisoft on X  “The team is focused on getting players back into the game as quickly as possible. Please know that this matter is being handled with extreme care and therefore, timing cannot be guaranteed. We will provide another update as soon as we know more.”

The God of War TV show snags an Emmy-winning director

1. Prosinec 2025 v 22:35

Amazon’s TV adaption of Sony’s God of War games has landed an Emmy award-winning director for the first two episodes. Frederick E.O. Toye has signed up and should be familiar with historical violence having directed Shogun for Disney, and also The Boys for Amazon.

He joins Ronald D. Moore, creator of the highly acclaimed Battlestar Galactica remake, who will be the showrunner for the two seasons that have been ordered. The series was announced in 2022 with Rafe Judkins as the showrunner, but he left the project in 2024 due to creative differences.

“’God of War’ is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich storytelling,” Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios, said. “We are honored to share in the adventure of exploring the God of War mythology in such a momentous way with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Santa Monica Studio.”

Sony has a Horizon Zero Dawn movie in the works and a sequel to the Uncharted movie was announced years ago, but that seems to be dead in the water, perhaps due to Tom Holland’s busy schedule.  Sony Pictures are also producing the Metal Gear Solid movie.

For Liberty! The fan made Helldivers film is well worth a watch

30. Listopad 2025 v 13:07

If you like Helldivers then I recommend you keep an hour free to watch For Liberty! which is a new fan-made film based on Helldivers 2. It is exceptionally professional with spectacular animation and a rousing score that features familiar-sounding riffs.

It’s also very funny and captures the expandability of the Helldivers along with the fascist regime hiding under the name of Managed Democracy. There’s even a little Drag Race reference which I was not expecting.

For Liberty! finds the Helldivers on a planet where the Automatons are conducting experiments on the Terminids and creating cyborg bugs, but for what reason? The plot follows a female Helldiver as they investigate what is going and, of course, kill an awful lot of robots and bugs. It also cleverly uses the first person perspective from the game for a dramatic key moment, and like all good franchise films, teases a sequel right at the very end of the credits.

You can watch the entire movie below, but if you like it go and give them a like and follow on YouTube where you can find out more about the film.

Helldivers 2 has been a huge hit for Sony with an Xbox X|S version launching this year. On December 2nd 2025 the Python Commandos Premium Warbond will launch with three brand new stratagems and a new primary weapon. The new gun, a combination assault rifle and grenade launcher called the AR/GL-21 One-Two. It’s “heavy to wield, but the damage dealt is heavy too, making your primary slot more versatile than ever with two guns in one!”

You will also get the M-1000 Maxigun is belt-fed with ultra-high ammo capacity, and there’s a new Guard Dog assistant, this one is armed with a flamethrower. There is new armour, new emotes, new capes and all the usual cosmetic bobbins.

Alongside For Liberty! there is also an official Helldivers film on the way. The Helldivers movie will be based on Helldivers 2, but there is no confirmed release window, cast, or even what story will be told through the movie.

ARC Raiders Review

26. Listopad 2025 v 14:10

Robot apocalypses are two a penny in video games, and ARC Raiders follows this fine tradition of having the world dominated by deadly machines who will attack and kill humans on sight. We’re a fairly hardy bunch, though, so we’ve burrowed underground to found the city of Speranza, with a select few coming out to the surface to scavenge from what remains of our civilisation. These fearless individuals, known as Raiders, are risking their lives and their possessions every time they head to the surface, with danger coming from the robotic ARC as well as the other Raiders who are fighting over the scraps.

At least, that’s what the developers wanted to happen; in reality, something rather more wonderful has occurred. Strangers are working together, sharing loot, and helping each other out in firefights against the ARC. You can go and shoot someone in the head if you want to be a dick, and there are still players who do that, but from my experience, most players are friendly and want to work together.  This is even more impressive when you consider just how fractured and divided the real world is. It also makes the times when some butthead with a sniper rifle picks you off from a roof 500 metres away even more depressing. Welcome to the future.

ARC Raiders is an extraction shooter, so you get to keep anything you can carry back out of a mission, and if you die? Well, you’ll come back empty handed, an even loose whatever kit you took in. That makes setting your loadout for a run on the surface and how much you’ll risk a key decision point.

There are two weapon slots with twenty weapons available, some of which can be bought and some which can be crafted, and its the usual mix of shotguns, pistols and rifles.  Each weapon can be upgraded three times to improve its performance, and you can further customise it with stocks, larger magazines and sights. Guns chosen, it’s time to select an Augment which increases carry space, weight capacity, and shield compatibility. Yes, despite wearing rags and having to recycle ice cream scoops for metal, you have a Dune-style full-body shield to absorb damage. Grab some appropriate ammo, of which there are four types, and your final job is to add some grenades and healing items into the quick access slots.

There are five playable maps in ARC Raiders: Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, The Blue Gate, and the new Stella Montis map, which was unlocked after the game launched. While it’s hard to make an apocalyptic landscape visually exciting, there is enough difference between them all to make them interesting.

ARC Raiders spaceport environment

The gameplay loop consists of sneaking around and scavenging items from buildings whilst avoiding the larger ArC enemies. For the first few runs, the smaller enemies are quite a threat and can end your scavenging run very quickly but you soon learn their weak spots or how to evade them altogether. Initially, I did think this was rather boring; you are essentially opening loot boxes under duress. It’s like ripping apart a pack of Pokémon cards while a stick of dynamite fizzles nearby, and most of the time, all you get is a garlic press. Thankfully, the team back at your base has a constant supply of missions which encourage you to go to new areas, and there are remixed versions of each map with modifiers that reduce the number of exits or add fierce lightning storms to spice things up.

ARC Raiders also has a couple of Destiny-style world events such as the Harvester, which requires you to sneak past a Queen – that’s a giant crab robot, not a contestant on Drag Race. Inside the Harvester there’s puzzles to solve while under the threat of being toasted alive, so you need good timing as well as a good aim. It’s a nice little diversion but the game really could do with more of these, and hopefully Embark can add some soon.

ARC Raiders Queen

Extract successfully from the map via one of the exit stations, and it’s back to your home base to sort through your loot of toasters, ARC parts and rags. There appear to be hundreds of items you can find, some of which are useful, some of which can be recycled into parts, and some of which can be sold. If you enjoy flicking through pages of junk and deciding what to keep, then Arc Raiders is definitely the game for you. Managing your stash and working out what to do with each item is a painfully slow process on a console and the impatient among us – it’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me – would benefit from three nice buttons labelled “Sell the trinkets”, “Recycle the junk” and “Keep the good stuff”. Of course, this is less of a problem on PC, where you can zip around menus and sort your stash much more quickly thanks to having a mouse. It’s just much slower and more fiddly on consoles with a gamepad.

On top of your stash you gradually unlock six workbenches that can be used to craft new weapons, health items, shields and other useful tools, all of which require specific materials to upgrade, and tasks from vendors that require specific objects. Tracking what you need for each task is a chore at best and like all apocalyptic games, none of it makes sense. Your chicken – yes, chicken – that scavenges extra resources for you while you are out needs a dog collar and then a cat bed as upgrades. As you only get to see the next step of the upgrade path after your completed the current one there is a good chance you recycled that cat bed to make a bandage a couple of hours ago, which is very frustrating.

ARC Raiders Scrappy the chicken rooster

After wading through your stash, redeeming some XP in a skill tree, upgrading your weapons and buying a few extra supplies, it is time to head back out to the fun part of the game. How that plays out really depends on if you are going solo or as a team, with the game prioritising matchmaking within those queues. Matched in with solo players I have found the game to be slower and more reliant on stealth, but almost every player I met was friendly and helped out if needed. Go in with two friends as a team and the game plays rather differently, there seems to be many more PvP battles, though there are still some friendlies. Going in as a team also makes the game so much easier, as you can cover each other’s back and the smaller ARC bots really don’t stand a chance when taking fire from multiple directions.

I rather liked the two seemingly unintentional game modes that this created. Jumping in with team gives you are more gung-ho approach where you can be rather more brazen in your exploits, while scurrying around by yourself and meeting the occasional strangers who are also trying survive really enforces the apocalyptic feel of the game.

ARC Raiders Ambush

However, that sense of camaraderie with other Raiders is doing a lot of the heavy lifting as without it, ARC Raiders is fairly generic. The ruined wasteland and scrappy costumes have been seen in a thousands games since Fallout, the crafting and item degradation is nothing new and has been around since, well, Fallout, and the enemy design is really lacking in imagination. Three of the ARCs are just balls that roll around, another three are flying drones, and there are four variants of crabs, ranging from small scuttling creatures to house-sized behemoths who constantly launch missiles at your face.

I have also encountered a couple of technical issues on PS5. Most notably is the pop-in which is really quite noticeable as objects and textures do just appear from thin air even when you are quite close. I have also had a couple of runs where the game either refuses to accept half of the button presses on the DualSense, or decided my character is going to walk in a certain direction no matter what. Quitting out the game completely is the only way to solve these issues, which is really annoying if you have spent ages building up a decent loadout and then have to lose it because of a bug.

ARC Raiders encountering another player

Finally, a quick word about Embark’s use of AI voices for the vendors in the game. Your opinions on AI are your own, and I’m not going to tell you otherwise, but I can tell you that, even with Embark hiring actors to create their AI voice banks, the NPC’s sound rubbish. Embark may have saved a few krona using AI, but the end result is nowhere near as good as getting people back into the recording booth.

F1 26 is a DLC – the next full F1 game will be in 2027

EA have announced that there will not be an F1 game launching next year and instead, F1 25 will be getting paid DLC to replicate F1 26.  “The decision to offer a premium content update for F1 25 is part of a strategic reset for the F1 Franchise,” they explain.

The 2026 DLC will “bring players closer to the sport’s major changes for 2026 that includes new cars, sporting regulations, teams, and drivers,”  but no other details have been revealed. The next game in 2027 is then going to refresh the franchise so that it “looks, feels, and plays differently, delivering more gameplay choices.”

Here’s Tef to tell you why this actually matters:

This is a pretty major deal for fans of the sport and the racing genre. 2026 is the start of a whole new set of regulations that changes the aerodynamic focal points away from ground effect and instead embraces movable wings, which will make cars suddenly much lighter and faster down the straights, before wings snap into place for better cornering. You would hope and expect that Codemasters’ physics model is capable enough to accommodate the change – there are Formula 2 cars in the game, for example – but it could end up feeling like a basic stepping stone.

“F1 25 has been an incredible success, fueled by the passion of fans and the energy of the sport. With Formula 1’s momentum on and off the track, now is the perfect time for us to look ahead and build for the future. We’re fully committed to the EA SPORTS F1 franchise. Our multi-year plan extends this year’s excitement with the 2026 expansion and reimagines the F1 experience for 2027 to deliver even more for players at every level around the world,” adds Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.

We rather enjoyed F1 25’s entry in the yearly sporting franchise, which brought its own fictional F1 story to the table with the third Braking Point tale. Dom saying in our review, “F1 25 is a clear improvement over last year’s entry, with improved handling, the returning Braking Point story mode and more all coming together to create an excellent F1 racing experience.”

F1 25 was enhanced with a DLC pack that was inspired by F1 The Movie, the content comes in the form of six Chapter Scenarios, which are available either as part of the Iconic Edition or to be purchased separately. These events take you to key moments from the movie, tackling dramatic weather, strategic moments and overcoming the odds at Silverstone, Monza, Zandvoort, Mexico City, Spa-Francorchamps, and Abu Dhabi. Completing these scenarios unlocks Sonny Hayes’ helmet for use in F1 World and Driver Career.

Bungie finally admit they messed up Destiny 2 and are going to make changes

After a lot of negative feedback and tumbling player counts, Bungie have acknowledged that they made some poor decisions with Destiny 2. Here is their statement from this week’s TWAB.

“With Edge of Fate, we presented a different vision for the future of Destiny 2’s core game. One intended to refocus our releases and player call-to-action on a familiar but deeper pursuit of Power and ascending to higher Tiers of gear across a wider range of activities supporting customizable challenge and commensurate rewards.

Very quickly, the feedback made it clear that this was the wrong path for Destiny.

Even if our execution had been perfect, and we see plainly that it was not, it is clear that grinding Power will never be a substitute for earning a trophy. Climbing through throwaway tiers en-route to the gear you want to build around isn’t aspirational. And the Portal itself surrenders too much of Destiny’s feeling of place and exploration. These lessons, and many others besides them, have been taken to heart by our team over the last three months.

From 9.0.0 on through 9.1.5, our focus across the entire team has been response to player feedback, starting with the fastest changes and working through the more challenging ones. Our focus was on faster, better Rewards, more player agency in activity choice, and removing barriers to playing with friends.

Since Destiny launched over ten years ago, it has always been a living, reactive world. Through our successes and failures, we are grateful for the opportunities to explore different paths, learn from them, and with that clarity, build an inspiring new vision with, and for, our players. As we work on our plans and communications to address your feedback, thank you for being on this journey with us as we reshape our strategy for the long-term future of the Destiny franchise. “

The Portal and the associated power grind had come under heavy criticism as it required players to play the same few activities over and over again just to raise their power levels up before they could start getting decent weapon drops. This meant playing other activities, such as Dares of Eternity was completely pointless, and if you did, the matchmaking was unlikely to find any other players.

Updates 9.5.0 (December 2) and 9.5.0.1 (December 9) will begin to make changes to how the game works.

  • Wider access to Power progression, especially in Expansion content.
    • Players will be able to reach the Power cap directly through Renegades activities if they wish.
  • Seasonal Power and Featured Gear carrying across Seasons.
    • All Exotic weapons and armor are now featured.
    • Additionally, we’re moving Power catch-up from a chest needing manual pickup to organic drops: sign in, play Renegades, catapult to 300 Power, and play with your friends.
  • Vault capacity and upgrades to ease collection pressure.
    • We have increased Vault capacity by an additional 300 slots to 1000, and we’re working on more.
    • In addition, the Vault now has a revamped filtering system to help find what you’re looking for faster.

Renegades looks fun so I will be re-joining the Guardians when it launches, will you?

Let’s talk about Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate

The Fallout Season 2 trailer shows us more of New Vegas

Amazon had dropped a new trailer for season two of Fallout, based on the Bethesda franchise of the same name.  We get to see more Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) as they travel to  New Vegas, plus our first look at two of the new additions to the cast,  Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani.

The Fallout Season 2 trailer also reveals Moisés Arias returns as Lucy’s brother Norm and it will be interesting to see where his story goes, as at the end of Season 1, he discovered the real purpose of the Vaults.
Fan favourite Mr. House will join the show, played by Justin Theroux, Barb Howard, the Ghouls wife from his previous life, is also shown a long with other returning characters such as Woody Thomas (Zach Cherry) and Lucy’s dad, Overseer Hank MacLean who is played by Kyle MacLachlan.

Amazon previously announced that Season 2 of Fallout will drop an episode a week, rather than all at once, which is how Season One arrived. The second season, which was commissioned just a week after the first had aired.

The logline for season two does not reveal anything,  “The new season will pick up in the aftermath of season one’s epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.”

If you missed the first series, then we highly recommend it. You can check out my review here. Season 3 has already been commissioned, so the story will continue. The Fallout television series is canon within the franchise so Fallout 5, whenever that gets round to being made, may incorporate characters and locations from the show.

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,” said  Jonathon Nolan during the show’s 2020 announcement. “Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

The first episode of Fallout Season 2 will be released on Amazon Prime video on 17th December 2025, with a new episode following on the same day for the next seven weeks.

Names, names, names sweetie darling! Balenciaga joins PUBG Mobile

Darling, listen up because I’m only saying this once,  from today until December 14th, Balenciaga has swanned into PUBG Mobile and turned the whole battlefield into a catwalk for people who like their couture with a side of carnage.

It’s all terribly now, sweetie.

Exclusive items, special rewards, a whole World of Wonder map smothered in Balenciaga. It’s like Paris Fashion Week got drunk and wandered into a warzone.

Models… I mean, players, can unlock all these divine little Balenciaga numbers, the sort of pieces that whisper “high fashion” and scream “don’t touch me, I’m expensive.” There’s the Couture Armor look, inspired by that delicious 3D-printed armour couture moment from Balenciaga’s 52nd show. Very sculptural. Very futuristic. Very “I’m going to obliterate you but make it fashion.”

Then there are all the Winter ’25 bits — the corseted hoodie, the pink puffer, the standard look, it is Balenciaga saying, “Yes, we know you’re in a firefight, but do try to look couture”

And it doesn’t stop there, sweetie. You can also get the Invisible Rectangle Sunglasses (perfect for pretending you haven’t slept in three days), the Faux Fur Helmet (lush), and a Balenciaga Backpack in three upgradeable levels — because even your virtual luggage should be aspirational. Parachutes, avatar frames, graffiti, space gifts, so much to buy!

In World of Wonder, there’s a whole official Balenciaga map, where you can faff about expressing yourself — ghastly concept — but at least there’s a chic snowboard involved.

Balenciaga

And of course, because Balenciaga never misses a chance to dress you.. normal.. people, there’s a real-world merch capsule too: T-shirts, caps, keychains, all that “I holiday in Monaco” nonsense. You can pick it up at select Balenciaga stores and online in Australia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the UAE, and the US.

Now, where’s the Bolly?

Square Enix announces staff redundancies alongside increased use of AI

Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu has held a video call with staff outside Japan and announced a “fundamental restructuring of the overseas publishing organization”. Jobs will be cut and those left will be expected to spend more time working in the office. The move is part of a cost-cutting exercise to save 3 billion yen ($19.6 million), although the last attempt at restructuring the company ended up costing the company 9.8 billion yen.

Square Enix has not announced how many people will be let go and said that affected staff will be notified today. VGC are reporting that over 140 people are at risk in the London office, including those working in marketing, QA, and sales.

Alongside this, the company also released a financial statement along with a commentary that stated that they are working with the Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo on a project “aimed at improving the efficiency of game development processes through AI technologies”. Their goal is to “automate 70% of QA and debugging tasks in game development by the end of 2027”.

The financial report shows that game sales for the company are down 15% year-on-year but despite this, operating income has increased by 28.8% due to reduced marketing and development costs.

The file size for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been revealed

Call of Duty games have gradually been increasing in size over the years and now take up a significant chunk of your hard drive.  Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is not expected to buck the trend, as it is going to land somewhere between 130GB and 166GB on PS5.

The back of the physical box states the game requires 166GB, but a report from PlayStation Game Size, who dig about in the back end of the PSN, reveals that the main game is 96.677 GB, with the co-op campaign adding 15.594 GB and Warzone an additional 19.734 GB. There is no mention of Zombies, which may be part of the main file or an additional download that has yet to be listed.

The Xbox download size has not been revealed, but PC gamers are going to need a minimum of 116GB. By comparison, the rather good Arc Raiders is 16Gb on PlayStation 5.
