This new FPS game uses your frame rate as your health bar, so I'll brb after I've bought a 240Hz monitor

6. Leden 2026 v 18:14

There's nothing worse than a stuttering frame rate. Whether you can't afford a modern graphics card because AI tech bros are hoarding them in data centers, that big new release isn't quite optimized, or you're just trying to play Crysis in the year of our lord 2026, poor performance is infuriating. However, it's something you may have to suffer through while playing FPS Quest, a meta game which uses your frame rate as your health bar. If you want to survive, you'll have to break the game itself and stutter to victory.

Arc Raiders has had offers for a movie adaptation, but Embark insists it must "be done in the right way"

6. Leden 2026 v 16:43

Have you ever experienced a moment in a game that's made you think, "That could be a movie?" I'm not talking about a cutscene from The Last of Us or any of Sony's wannabe movie games, I mean when you're getting stuck into one of the best multiplayer games and pull off a trick that's worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster. If you immediately think of taking down a Matriarch in Arc Raiders, you're in luck: Patrick Soderlund, CEO of developer Embark Studios, says that he has received "many" offers to adapt the hit game into a movie or TV show.

Apex Legends' latest update adds fan favorite Titanfall mechanic, but there's a catch

6. Leden 2026 v 15:12

Have you ever wanted an Apex Legends x SSX crossover? Me neither. Who would ever come up with a concept like that? Respawn, apparently. But I've seen Lifeline snowboarding across World's Edge, there's nothing I want to do more than pop Misty 900 no-scope headshot from across the map. With the addition of pseudo-wall running and buffs for some fan favorite characters on the cards, too, there's only one question left on my lips: where's the snow?

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 developer seems to be working on a secret Unreal Engine project

6. Leden 2026 v 12:52

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 may have been the most underrated game to release in 2025. It's difficult to say that about a title that came fourth in our own Game of the Year 2025 list and picked up awards at other, inferior, websites. It even got nominated for the big gong at the Geoffies. But when I talk to my friends , colleagues, or strangers online, it rarely enters the conversation despite being one of 2025's biggest hits and arguably the best medieval game ever made. However, the next game from developer Warhorse Studios could be very different, thanks to job listings that suggest a change in engines.

Roblox player succeeds in quest to pry Guinness World Record from the hands of cheaters

5. Leden 2026 v 18:09

Every game has cheaters. However, there are varying levels of acceptability. It's fine to motherlode on The Sims, as it's a single-player game and you can play it however you want. It's not fine to use aimbot in a multiplayer shooter, because you're ruining other people's fun. The worst of all, however, is cheating in a competitive environment, whether that be at an esports tournament or on a speedrunning leaderboard. That's exactly what Roblox speedrunner Quinten, who goes by 'kannotlogin' on Reddit, encountered.

Streamer becomes the first person to actually Escape from Tarkov, and it only took them two and a half weeks

2. Prosinec 2025 v 16:51

Escape from Tarkov is a game of patience. It's about waiting as much as it is shooting. You want to gather as much loot as you can and scurry back to your base to rebuild and recuperate. But nobody actually escapes. Not until now. Developer Battlestate Games only added the ability to escape from Tarkov entirely when the hit extraction shooter launched on Steam with version 1.0 last month. In just two and a half weeks, a streamer by the name of 'Tigz' has put 150 hours into the game and has seemingly become the first to make it out of the eponymous city.

Where Winds Meet's toughest enemy isn't a legendary warrior, it's a particularly aggressive goose

2. Prosinec 2025 v 15:01

It's a lovely day in 10th-century China, and you are face to face with a horrible goose. You've sliced up legendary swordsmen and gone sword-to-staff with ferocious witches, but this foe strikes true fear into your heart. Yes, a large percentage of the Where Winds Meet community, myself included, are struggling to defeat a simple goose. The white-browed goose can be found in Qinghe, close to the Moonveil Mountain fast travel point, but make sure you're prepared for battle if you head on up there.

Steam's most widely used GPU is less powerful than you'd think, but new survey shows RTX 50-series is catching up

2. Prosinec 2025 v 12:43

What graphics card do you use? I'm looking to upgrade at the moment as my old 30-series is starting to show the telltale signs of age when I'm trying to hit the top settings on triple-A games. However, prices never seem to come close to RRP, even in Black Friday sales and the like. A recent Steam survey has shown that I'm not alone, and plenty of others are also playing on older hardware. But the biggest surprise of all is that most users aren't rocking the best graphics card, and are instead opting for an Nvidia GPU made specifically for laptops.

Cyberpunk 2077 hints at new update for fifth anniversary, so here's when you'll need to tune in for more

1. Prosinec 2025 v 16:48

Cyberpunk 2077 is a comeback story for the ages. While I still don't think it has lived up to the pre-development hype, there's a really solid linear adventure to be found in the gargantuan open world of Night City. The game is now touted as one of the best RPGs ever made, rivaling developer CD Projekt Red's previous effort, The Witcher 3. I still think the Continent has a more believable, living, breathing world and Night City feels a little like a façade at times, but that doesn't stop me from hoping for more adventures in the studio's sci-fi offering.

New Manor Lords update leaves players "seriously impressed" as beloved city builder drops to lowest-ever price on Steam

1. Prosinec 2025 v 16:12

It's easy to forget that Manor Lords was created by just one man. When it first started, developer Slavic Magic was the name for Grzegorz Styczeń's solo studio. Since the game's success - it's a regular feature on our list of the best city building games - he's expanded to hire more developers, but the team remains small. However, Styczeń excels in listening to the community, and the latest update is no different. It makes numerous quality of life improvements and fixes so many bugs that I barely know where to start.

We've been waiting for Ubisoft's Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake for four years, and now it might be round the corner

1. Prosinec 2025 v 13:37

The Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake has had a troubled existence. After being first announced back in 2020 with a speculative January 2021 release date, it has since been moved from Ubisoft Mumbai to Ubisoft Montreal and been stuck in development hell for the past four years. However, industry insider Tom Henderson suggests that the game will finally be releasing next month, four years after its intended launch window.

Fortnite Chapter 7 launches with apparent "AI slop," days after Epic CEO Tim Sweeney suggested Steam should bin AI disclosures

1. Prosinec 2025 v 12:14

Fortnite Chapter 7 launched with a bang this weekend, following a strong Simpsons-themed season with a surprising Tarantino crossover and sci-fi legend Marty McFly. However, the news isn't all good. As you wander Classified Canyon and Battlewood Boulevard in search of one of the new driveable Reboot Vans, you may see in-game adverts that have a whiff of generative AI about them. While Epic hasn't confirmed it used the contentious technology when creating these ads, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney's recent comments about AI disclosures might suggest the company isn't averse to its use.

Apex Legends' new gun may be the most broken weapon in its history, but boy is it fun to shoot missiles from an SMG

24. Listopad 2025 v 18:17

My favorite Apex Legends weapon is probably the 30-30 Repeater, and not just because of the buffs that marksman rifles have received in recent seasons. After that, I've always loved the sound of the Volt SMG, as well as the baroque Dreamweaver skin that I will never change. As you can tell, my tastes are based more on look, feel, and sound more than power, but it's still fun to run about with something completely broken whenever it appears. The latest overpowered weapon is a special R99 variant known as the Bird of Prey, and I can't remember ever seeing something this busted in Apex before.

You've seen Doom on a fridge, now here's Minecraft running at 0.5fps on a device you'd never expect

24. Listopad 2025 v 17:12

People always find ways to challenge themselves in games, whether the developers intended it or not. I've Nuzlocked more Pokémon games than I've done regular playthroughs by this point, and I don't show any signs of slowing down. Minecraft players also love to make things harder for themselves. Where some people actively seek out the best Minecraft seeds to give them a head start, others embark on challenge runs or try to walk to the end of the procedurally-generated landscape - it took him 14 years, by the way.

Roblox CEO thinks adding gambling is "a brilliant idea" and calls its predator problem "an opportunity"

24. Listopad 2025 v 17:06

As a journalist, you know if an interview is going well or not. I've had stinkers - usually the ones where you're asking awkward questions that the interviewee would prefer not to answer, prompting them to deflect with varying success. But none have been as wild as the New York Times' Hard Fork podcast, where hosts Casey Newton and Kevin Roose sat down with Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki to discuss the platform's new age-verification policy.

We're finally seeing more of Hasbro's forgotten space game, and I'm hoping it's a worthy Mass Effect challenger

24. Listopad 2025 v 13:36

Remember Exodus? I'll be perfectly honest with you, I forgot it existed or assumed it had been canceled. Alas, that is not the case, and developer Hasbro has revealed that players will hear more of Matthew McConaughey's dulcet tones at The Game Awards next month. It's not nominated for the only award it's eligible for (most anticipated game), but it'll be good to see how development is progressing after prolonged radio silence. We can only assume the developers were busy traversing the stars and bending the space-time continuum to stay on track through their latest sprint.

Former Marathon director hates calling them 'extraction shooters,' but Bungie's forging on with the "dumb" term

11. Listopad 2025 v 12:18

Words have meanings. That's a mantra that I repeat on an almost daily basis. Simplistic does not mean simple. Obtuse is only for people, for anything else you should say abstruse. Look the word pedant up in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of me. That sort of thing. I know this makes me sound very boring (spoiler: I am quite boring), but it's my job as a writer and editor to know these things. Marathon's former director of product management, Chris Sides, agrees with me, and he's taken aim at the 'extraction shooter' label, appearing on a podcast to say it's "dumb" and "bad" because it's named after a mechanic.
