Where Winds Meet already has a staggering amount of content, but that’s not the end of what we can expect. Developer Everstone Studio just revealed a host of new additions coming to the game this month.
To those of you who were wondering whether that massive tower atop Moonveil Peak had a use or not, well, your patience has certainly been rewarded.
43.8 million player votes later, the winners of the 2025 Steam Awards have been announced, with Hollow Knight: Silksong securing top prize, Game of the Year.
Where Winds Meet has just received its Update 1.2, titled Live to Game. This is one of the game’s most ambitious updates to date, bringing new maps, events, guild battles, story progression in Kaifeng, and a long list of technical and gameplay improvements.
Where Winds Meethad its global launch back in November of 2025, and since then, the game’s reception has massively exceeded expectations. Within its first month, the game saw more than 15 million players exploring a rich world of martial arts, mysticism, and Chinese culture.
Where Winds Meet update 1.2 has just dropped, and there's a whole lot to look forward to in what ended up becoming one of last year's breakout open-world games. From a gorgeous new boss encounter to events including Guild Battles and granny-carrying in the First Jianghu Martial Games, you'll be finding fresh things to do across the map. There's so much that's been introduced, in fact, that some of the changes I'm most excited for didn't even make the cut in developer Everstone Studio's latest patch notes, including the ability to properly analyze your DPS and see exactly what's working and what isn't in your build.

This year, generative AI seeped into mainstream gaming. Though it didn't so much shimmer, as smear. It mispronounced lines in Arc Raiders, "drew" a smudgy loading screen in Anno 117, voiced a sweary Darth Vader in Fortnite – perhaps its least subtle appearance was in Where Winds Meet, the wuxia-themed open-world RPG that plugged some of its minor NPCs into AI chatbots. The results were predictably beige and sometimes absurd.
Everstone Studio announced that the mobile version for Where Winds Meet will launch globally on December 12 for iOS and Android. It will feature both cross play and cross progression support for the PlayStation 5 and PC versions. The mobile version first launched back on January 9, 2025 in China. A release date trailer was also released.

Where Winds Meet players are tricking the game's AI-powered NPCs into giving them rewards, simply by claiming they already have the answers to various side quests or riddles even when they don't.
November was filled with action-packed experiences, puzzling goodness, dazzling exploration, and more. Did Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Lumines Arise, or Where Winds Meet, or something else top your most-played lists for the month?
How does it work? At the end of every month, PlayStation Blog will open a poll where you can vote for the best new game released that month. After the polls close we will tally your votes, and announce the winner on our social channels and PlayStation Blog.
