Now, the GTA 6 release date is destined for November 19 this year. Barring some major fumbles and oversights on Rockstar's part, it will surely be one of the best open-world games ever made, and seeing it pushed even further into the future would be a hard pill to swallow - for me, it's less about a rampant desire for more Grand Theft Auto, and more about simply seeing whether the most anticipated videogame in history lives up to expectations. While November seems like an achievable goal, it still doesn't really feel guaranteed that GTA 6 will arrive then, and Bloomberg's Jason Schreier has sewn more seeds of doubt in my mind. Although he admits the current release date is way more "solid" and attainable than previous ones, he believes that GTA 6 is "still not content complete."

GTA 5 voice actor Ned Luke - aka Michael de Santa - got swatted for the eighth time over Xmas. I don’t mean that somebody belted him on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. The latest incident happened this December while Luke was streaming GTA Online with Rob Wiethoff, the voice of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2. There have been a few high-profile departures from Rockstar Games during the development of GTA 6, but arguably the biggest involved Dan Houser. One of the studio's co-founders and one of the main creative forces behind the GTA series' tone, storylines, and direction, Houser left Rockstar in 2020 and later formed Absurd Ventures, a multimedia entertainment company producing podcasts, comics, novels, and most importantly, videogames set across some shared universes. Speaking on a British talk show, Houser reiterates that Absurd's first game still requires "another few years in development," and also confirms that the studio is "dabbling in using AI." However, he also flags the limitations of AI use in game development, calling out companies that "claim it can solve every single problem, and it really can't yet."
