O uvedení hry Red Dead Redemption na PC koluje nespočet zvěstí, ale možná se konečně blížíme k oficiálnímu oznámení. Hlavní pozorovatel úniků Wario64 si všiml stránky obchodu PlayStation Store, která obsahuje následující popis:

Na stránce produktu je kupodivu jako platforma uvedena PlayStation 4 a jako datum vydání 17. srpna 2023, kdy hra skutečně vyšla na PS4. Přesto popis neponechává žádný prostor pro interpretaci: Red Dead Redemption vyjde na PC, pravděpodobně velmi brzy.

Bohužel se zdá, že jde spíše o jednoduchý port než o zásadní remaster. Nejenže Rockstar nepoužil engine z RDR2, ale jedinými uvedenými vylepšeními jsou vysoké rozlišení a snímková frekvence a více displejů. To je rozhodně trochu nedostačující, protože tak slavná hra by si zasloužila výrazné vylepšení před tím, než ji představíme novému velkému publiku, jako je komunita PC hráčů. Přesto si žebráci nemohou vybírat a modaři ji ještě mohou v mnoha ohledech vylepšit.

The classic GTA-style open world game set in the Wild West will be arriving on Switch very soon.

Early this morning, Rockstar Games announced that they would be re-releasing their 2010 Wild West action-adventure game, Red Dead Redemption to a modern era which includes the Nintendo Switch. The game is the predecessor to 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2. The story follows a former outlaw, named John Marston who must travel the American West and Mexico to eliminate the last of an infamous gang of outlaws in order to save his family.

Alongside the main campaign, the zombie-filled story expansion, Undead Nightmare is also included. It should be noted that online multiplayer is not included. This re-release will be handled by Double Eleven Studios, a studio which has been credited as support on many games including Switch games like Minecraft Dungeons and Songbringer.

Red Dead Redemption will be releasing for Nintendo Switch on August 17 at the price of $49.99. The physical release will be arriving on October 13. It will be the third game from Rockstar Games to hit the Nintendo Switch, following 2021’s GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and 2017’s L.A. Noire.

After nearly 14 years of waiting, PC players might soon have a version of Rockstar's open-world cowboy epic Red Dead Redemption to call their own - if a new datamine proves accurate.

Red Dead Redemption - which follows former outlaw John Marston as he travels across the American West and Mexico - has remained doggedly console-only since its PS3 and Xbox 360 launch in 2010. But the game's recent arrival on Switch and PlayStation had reignited hopes a long-overdue PC release might finally be on the cards - and a fresh discovery by a dataminer with some form when it comes to Rockster leaks suggests that is, indeed, the case.

As unearthed by Tez2 and shared on social media, Rockstar has today updated its PC launcher site file with a series of new "marketing strings", which, as Tez2 notes, is "the same way Rockstar promotes GTAV". The revealing bit of text here, not publicly visible on Rockstar's launcher at present, is listed under the header "RDR_ProductPromotion_Intro_Body" and reads, "Journey across the sprawling American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare - now playable on PC."
