Sega PS5, PS4 Game Removed From PS Plus Without Notice

9. Leden 2026 v 14:38
PS Plus game

A Sega PS5, PS4 game has been removed from the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog without a warning. We’re not sure when Endless Dungeon: Definitive Edition disappeared from PS Plus, but we’ve checked several regions’ PS Store pages to confirm that it’s not currently part of the catalog.

Sega game Endless Dungeon was added to PS Plus in June 2025

Endless Dungeon: Definitive Edition was added to PS Plus Extra back in June 2025. While Sony does have six-month deals with some publishers, it’s unusual for a Sega game to leave PS Plus in that span of time, especially without notice.

We’re not sure if Endless Dungeon has been removed in all regions or not, but at the time of writing, it’s not available to claim in U.S. and U.K. PS stores. I looked around on gaming forums to see if anyone else noticed the game missing in the Extra catalog, and saw a few comments from players who said they were only able to play Endless Dungeon because they had previously downloaded it. Those who didn’t claim it are not able to download it for free.

This leads me to believe that Endless Dungeon’s removal is a temporary PS Store glitch. We’ve seen this happen before when Sony updated SKUs for games on the storefront. In the case of Sayonara Wild Hearts, the game disappeared from PS Plus Extra for a week as Sony updated its SKU after its native PS5 port was released.

Here’s hoping that’s also the case with Endless Dungeon.

We’ll update our readers when we have more information.

PS5 Gets More Xbox Games in February 2026, RPG Fans Rejoice

9. Leden 2026 v 14:07
RPGs Avowed and Towerborne are the next Xbox games headed to PS5

Microsoft has confirmed that a pair of RPGs will be the next Xbox games to release on the PS5, and both of them will be out on the platform in February 2026. Obsidian Entertainment‘s Avowed will launch on PS5 first, followed by Stoic’s Towerborne.

RPGs Avowed and Towerborne are the next Xbox games headed to PS5

Action RPG Avowed will be available on PS5 on February 17, along with its Anniversary Update. The update will add New Game Plus, Photo Mode, new character appearance, new weapon, new character options, and more.

“You are the envoy of Aedyr, a distant land, sent to investigate rumors of a spreading plague throughout the Living Lands — an island full of mysteries and secrets, danger and adventure, and choices and consequences, and untamed wilderness,” reads an official overview. “Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?”

Stoic’s Towerborne is a side-scrolling action RPG that’s currently in early access. The full game will launch on PS5 on February 26.

“Rise again as an Ace, an immortal warrior reborn to defend the Belfry against the darkness beyond its walls,” a description reads. “Journey across a crumbling world, uncover the mystery of the fallen City of Numbers, and push back the corruption threatening humanity’s survival.”

Last Chance to Play Controversial PS4 RPG Before It Disappears

9. Leden 2026 v 13:48
PS5 PS4 RPG Anthem disappearing for good

It’s almost time to say goodbye to a divisive BioWare PS4 action RPG (playable on PS5) as it prepares to shut down for good. Frankly, we’re surprised that Anthem stayed live for seven years despite its development being canceled five years ago, but here we are.

PS4, PS5 users can play doomed BioWare RPG Anthem until January 12, 2026

PS5 and PS4 players are reminded that they have until Monday, January 12, 2026 to enjoy Anthem and/or mop up those trophies. PlayStation LifeStyle’s own Tyler Treese managed to pop the Platinum trophy just in time. Don’t miss out on your final opportunity this weekend to earn that rare Platinum!

Anthem was a departure for BioWare that ultimately led the studio down a dark path, but much of the blame for this live service disaster fell on publisher Electronic Arts. The company infamously decided that games-as-a-service was the way to go, and gutted single-player projects along the way.

Anthem was a critical and commercial failure, and at one point, the game’s discs were being sold for pennies. For its part, EA acknowledged the misfire, but not before Anthem’s troubles took their toll on BioWare.

Play PS5/PS4 Multiplayer Games Without PS Plus for Limited Time

3. Prosinec 2025 v 14:11
Free PS5, PS4 multiplayer without PS Plus

PS5 and PS4 users can soon play online multiplayer games for free without a PS Plus subscription for a limited time. Sony has announced a free multiplayer weekend that kicks off this Saturday, December 6, at midnight local time.

PS5 and PS4 getting free multiplayer weekend, no PS Plus required

The free multiplayer weekend will end at 11:59 p.m. local time on Sunday, December 7. In other words, folks without PS Plus will have two full days of free multiplayer.

No games are off limits, so this is a good time to mop up those trophies or just have fun without forking out extra cash, and transport yourself back to those PS3 days when online gaming was free.

Do note that you will not be able to access any other PS Plus benefits, like cloud saves.

Sony is currently offering varying discounts on PS Plus memberships, but the offers are mostly targeted towards new subscribers, returning subscribers whose memberships ran out a while ago, or those who wish to upgrade from a lower tier to a higher tier. To find out if you qualify, head over to the PS Plus section of the PS Store via PS App or your console.

PS5 Gets Surprise Launch of Beloved PS1 Adventure Game Soon

3. Prosinec 2025 v 13:47
PS1 game on PS5, PS4

A fan-favorite 1999 PS1 exclusive game is headed to the PS5 in two weeks with new features, publisher Limited Run Games has announced. Platform adventure Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return is headed to all current-gen platforms except Xbox. Unfortunately, however, its previously planned PS4 version has been canceled.

PS1 classic game Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return gets PS5 Special Edition this month

Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition will release on December 15 for $19.99. It’s unclear why the game’s PS4 version has been canceled, considering its Switch version is still on and offers cross-buy with Switch 2.

Developed by the original studio Whoopee Camp, Tomba 2 comes with the following new features:

  • Save Anywhere! There’s no longer any need to make frequent trips to save points.
  • Rewind! If you miss a jump or get hit, no problem, you can try again!
  • A museum chock full of classic original packaging and manuals, advertisements, merchandise photos, previously unseen game design documents, and high-resolution original artwork.

The original Tomba 2 released to positive reviews. Back then, our sister site GameRevolution awarded it a B grade, praising the fun gameplay and improvements over the original. However, Tomba 2 earned some criticisms for issues like tricky camera angles.

Play Red Dead Redemption PS5 Super Cheap Without PS Plus

3. Prosinec 2025 v 13:25
Red Dead Redemption 1 PS5

Players without PS Plus Extra who are interested in the new Red Dead Redemption native PS5 port are in luck. There is a way to play the game for dirt cheap rather than forking out $49.99, provided you can beat it within a month.

Red Dead Redemption PS5 comes out to just $7.99 via the GTA+ method

Since Rockstar Games delisted the original RDR1 PS4-only SKU on the PS Store and replaced it with a full-priced PS5/PS4 cross-buy version, the cheapest way to play the game is via a one-month GTA+ subscription, which costs $7.99. That’s half the price of a one-month PS Plus Extra subscription, which costs $14.99.

Once again, the caveat is that you have to beat RDR within a month, but since it’s a single-player game that only takes 17-18 hours for the campaign, it’s not a lot, given we’re headed into the holiday season.

You can, of course, wait for a sale, but Rockstar Games titles don’t get significant discounts right away, and you might be waiting for a while.

However, players should note that RDR’s current-gen port also includes additional content like Undead Nightmare that will require additional time to beat. That said, we’re only sharing a cheap option that players can explore if they’re itching to play one of the best PS3 games.

New PS5 System Update Released But Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

3. Prosinec 2025 v 10:08
PS5 / PS5 Pro system software update

Sony is rolling out PS5 system software update 25.08-12.40.00 for December 2025 starting early this morning, and it’s the least exciting update of the year. From the looks of it, the company wants to plug some vulnerabilities and exploits ahead of the holiday.

PS5 system software update 25.08-12.40.00 patch notes (December 3, 2025)

Complete patch notes for today’s update are as follows:

  • We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.

Do note that this update is being released in phases, so if you’re not being prompted to update your PS5 firmware, there’s nothing to worry about.

Speaking of messages and usability, Sony has quietly made some changes to the PSN messaging system, introducing the ability to see when players are typing messages, the ability to delete sent messages, and read receipts.

The new features are available both on the console and the latest version of PS App. However, as we pointed out recently, read receipts are turned on by default, so if you’re concerned about privacy, make sure to turn them off by following the steps we outlined in this article.

We’ll update our readers if players notice any stealth changes in today’s PS5 firmware update.

Acclaimed PS4 Game Shutting Down, Dev’s Fate Remains Unkown

24. Listopad 2025 v 13:56
PS4 game Grid shutting down

An award-winning 2019 PS4 game is shutting down soon amid reports that publisher Electronic Arts has severely gutted its developer. Codemasters’ Grid is the next game on EA’s chopping block, with its server closure scheduled for next month.

2019 PS4 racing game Grid shutting down in December 2025

EA has announced that Grid will be shutting down on December 19, 2025. The good news is that owners can continue to play the game, but server closures can impact aspects like trophy hunting and game completion, if that’s your thing. Grid itself and its DLC have already been delisted.

Grid is the latest in a lengthy list of Codemasters games that EA has pulled the plug on. In May this year, it was announced that development on future World Rally Championship titles had ceased. As a result, some developers were laid off while other Codemasters employees were moved to work on other EA projects.

EA denied subsequent reports that it was planning to shut down Codemasters, but the studio’s fate remains unknown, and we don’t know what it’s working on next or if Codemasters is working on anything at all.

Codemasters was founded in October 1986 and was purchased by EA in 2021.

PS5 Getting Promising New Shooter From a Dev We Didn’t Expect

24. Listopad 2025 v 13:31
PS5 shooter Armatus

A new AAA PS5 shooter has been announced, with both its trailer and developer coming as a surprise to many. Godfall developer Counterplay Games revealed its next game Armatus at last week’s Xbox Partner Preview, almost a year after it was reported that the team had been “disbanded.”

Godfall dev’s new PS5 shoot Armatus will launch in 2026

PS5 launch exclusive Godfall wasn’t a critical or commercial success. Counterplay’s acclaimed game Duelyst also failed to garner enough players to keep it alive. Third time lucky? We hope so!

Armatus is a third-person roguelite shooter set in “demon-infested” ruins of Paris. The player is a powerful supernatural warrior from an ancient order, who is searching for a “lost gateway to heaven.”

“Each run, wield your scythe and a gun of your choosing against brutal demons hellbent on your destruction,” reads an official description. “To overcome them, evolve your combat style with powerful celestial abilities and passive enhancements. Die and you will revive to fight again.”

Armatus will release in 2026.

Report of Counterplay Games being “disbanded” came from the verified LinkedIn post of an employee at a partner studio. It’s unclear if it’s the Godfall team that was disbanded or Counterplay was temporarily disbanded and then revived.

Whatever the case, we’re rooting for Armatus.

PS5 Getting Feature Update That Fans Have Been Asking For

24. Listopad 2025 v 13:06
PS5 update

Sony is beta testing a PS5 feature update that should please fans who have been begging for better UI personalization. While we don’t expect the PS5 to ever match PS4’s socialization and customization options, it’s nice to see these baby steps towards a better UI experience.

New PS5 personalization feature update should make players happy

As spotted by YouTuber Mystic, Sony has added two new features to the PS5 Welcome Hub for select participants:

  1. Showcase Mode: When your PS5 is idle, widgets disappear to reveal a full view of the background.
  2. Slideshow: the background cycles through images from an album you select.

These beta features are available for a limited time and can be turned on via the Welcome Hub settings menu.

Frankly, I’m surprised that the Showcase Mode wasn’t introduced with the Welcome Hub. One of the first things players noticed was that the widgets hid background images, and the only solution was to remove as many widgets as possible and rearrange them in crafty ways.

Thankfully, we no longer have to do that. Both the Showcase and Slideshow modes are essentially screensavers, and with the latter, players can put all those beautiful in-game Photo Mode images they take to good use.

Again, these aren’t groundbreaking features and nothing like the PS4 themes, but we’re slowly getting there, it seems.

PS3 Emulation Update Isn’t Great News for Some PS Plus Users

24. Listopad 2025 v 12:41
PS3 games on PS5, PS4, PS Plus

Sony partner Implicit Conversions has provided an update on its “dream” PS3 emulation project, and it’s not what PS Plus Premium users wanted to hear. In a new interview, CEO Bill Litshauer revealed that PS3 emulation is more of a “backburner” passion project because there’s more demand for PS2 games, and Implicit Conversions hasn’t been asked for PS3 games specifically by Sony either.

Highly demanded PS3 games continue to elude PS5, PS4, and PS Plus

The good news is that Implicit Conversions is working on PS3 emulation with a third party, so the project isn’t dead, as Litshauer confirmed to YouTuber Mystic (thanks, PSNProfiles):

Those hoping to see downloadable PS3 games on the PS5 and PS4 are going to have to wait.

PS3 games are currently only available via cloud streaming, so PS Plus Premium users who don’t have the internet speed to stream games will have to stick to downloadable classics. And PS Plus users outside of streaming countries, where Premium is replaced with Deluxe, don’t have access to PS3 games on PS5 and PS4 altogether.

Those without a PS Plus subscription are also completely out of luck unless they have access to a PS3 console.

I highly recommend watching the full interview, as it reveals a lot of interesting facts about bringing classics to modern platforms. What stuck out the most to me was the revelation that porting classics is an expensive affair overall, and some developers opt out of adding trophies because the feature adds to the cost of development.

Another interesting tidbit is that the process of porting classics is sometimes complicated by licenses and IP changing hands over the years, and in some cases, license/IP owners are deceased.

PS5 Gets Intriguing New RPG and It’s Completely Free

7. Listopad 2025 v 14:41
Free PS5 RPG Plague Hunters

The PS Store has released an interesting new PS5 RPG that’s completely free. No, this isn’t your typical shovelware, AI slop, or free-to-play multiplayer game. Plague Hunters is a full-fledged single-player RPG that takes up to 15 hours to Platinum.

Free PS5 RPG Plague Hunters is brought to us by veteran dev Luc Bernard

Plague Hunters is developed by veteran French designer Luc Bernard, who is no stranger to releasing free games. Bernard previously released emotional narrative game The Light in the Darkness for free.

Like The Light in the Darkness, Plague Hunters comes with trophies, but don’t expect a walk in the park.

As for what it’s about, Plague Hunters is set in a dark fantasy world destroyed by plague. Players must survive by fighting twisted, vicious enemies. The game’s official description is in the form of a poem:

“In shadowed realms where plague winds howl and moan,
Plague Hunters calls, a rogue-like throne,
Turn-based tales in dark fantasy’s grip,
Where survivors and hunters join your fateful trip.”

Currently, Plague Hunters is only available on the PS5. We’re not sure whether it’s a console exclusive, as it’s barely been marketed.

A DLC level is also available on the PS Store for $4.99, but it has no impact on trophies.

Free PS5 Upgrade for Disc Owners of Hit PS4 Game Finally Out

7. Listopad 2025 v 14:06
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice free PS5 upgrade

Players who purchased a physical copy of one of the best PS4 games from 2017 can now claim a free PS5 upgrade. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice received a native PS5 port in August, but the free upgrade was only available to those who bought the original game digitally, for some reason.

PS4 disc owners of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice were locked out of free PS5 upgrade

Players discovered the PS5 upgrade for Hellblade PS4 disc owners on the PS Store. The disc is, of course, required to play.

Once you insert the disc into your PS4, you’ll see the option to download the PS5 port for free. You do not need to install the older version.

As a reminder, Hellblade PS5 trophies do not auto-pop, so you’ll have to play again to unlock the second set of trophies. However, it won’t take long since Hellblade is a short, linear game.

New features include ray tracing, support for up to 120 FPS gameplay, and DualSense haptic feedback. Hellblade is also PS5 Pro enhanced.

On its own, Hellblade for PS5 costs $29.99 (full price). The original game launched as a timed PS4 exclusive, and the free PS5 upgrade was published by Microsoft following its acquisition of Ninja Theory.

Beloved EA PS4 Games Shutting Down on Short Notice

7. Listopad 2025 v 13:45
EA PS4 games shutting down

Electronic Arts is quietly shutting down two more PS4 games tomorrow, November 8, 2025, as it continues to gut its back catalog. A total of six PS3 and PS4 games from the ill-fated developer Codemasters will be going offline permanently on Saturday.

PS4 games Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally shutting down tomorrow along with several Codemasters games

2016’s Dirt Rally and 2017’s Dirt 4 will lose online services on November 8. Previously, the publisher had only confirmed server closure for Dirt Showdown, Dirt 3, Grid Autosport, and Grid 2.

This update was shared by an EA employee on World Rally Championship’s official Discord channel, as spotted by PSNProfiles users.

Four of the games above were originally scheduled to shut down on March 16, 2026, but EA decided to pull the server closure date to November.

Those who own PS4 versions of the above games can play them on PS5 via backwards compatibility. A couple of the titles mentioned above were previously PS Plus monthly games, so a large number of players might have them in their library.

We’re not sure what the future holds for Codemasters. The developer has stopped working on WRC, and numerous developers have either been laid off or moved to other EA IPs.

PS Plus Extra November Game Leak Massively Disappoints

7. Listopad 2025 v 12:49
PS Plus Extra November 2025 game GTA V

The first PS Plus Extra November 2025 game has leaked, and it’s already massively disappointed some users. Frankly, we can see why. Not long after Rockstar Games announced another Grand Theft Auto VI release date delay, a reliable leaker revealed that GTA V is returning to the Extra catalog this month.

PS Plus users hoping GTA V doesn’t headline November 2025 Extra catalog

GTA V has been in and out of the PS Plus Extra catalog multiple times, so its inclusion in November’s lineup — confirmed by none other than Dealabs user billbil-kun — has come as a huge disappointment to users. At least that’s what it looks like gauging responses to the leak.

Many are hoping that GTA V doesn’t end up being the headliner for November.

“Waste of a slot; everybody and their grandma has played GTA V,” one user wrote on Reddit. “A game spot already wasted. Who tf wants GTA V anymore,” a fellow user concurred.

Although we understand the disappointment, GTA V continues to dominate sales charts and remains one of the most popular games on PS5 and PS4, so we can understand why Sony keeps bringing it back. That said, we too hope that GTA V doesn’t end up being the November headliner as compensation for a lackluster catalog refresh heading into the holiday season.

Like all leaks, take this with a grain of salt until official confirmation. But billbil-kun has a stellar record so keep those expectations in check.

Highly Anticipated Marvel PS5 Game Delayed Indefinitely

7. Listopad 2025 v 05:29
PS5 game Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

GTA 6 isn’t the only game that was delayed today as a promising upcoming PS5 Marvel title also met the same fate yet again. Things aren’t looking too good for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra because Skydance Media has delayed the game indefinitely this time.

PS5 game Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is being written by Uncharted’s Amy Hennig

Written by Amy Hennig, Todd Stashwick, and Marc Bernardin, Rise of Hydra was announced in 2021, and was originally given a release window of 2025. However, earlier this year, players were promised an early 2026 launch.

That all changed tonight when Skydance announced another delay, and had no new release window to share, causing some concern.

A standard “quality” reason was given for the delay.

“Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect,” Skydance wrote. “To fully realize our vision for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’ve made the decision to shift our release window beyond early 2026.”

Skydance went on to thank fans for their support, and promised to create “something truly special.”

We won’t be too surprised if Rise of Hydra ends up launching on the PS6. In the meanwhile, we have Insomniac Games’ Wolverine to look forward to in 2026.
