gamescom Opening Night Live 2024: Everything Xbox Revealed

At today’s gamescom Opening Night Live, fans were treated to a bevy of new game reveals and amazing trailers that gave a glimpse of what’s in store from Xbox. This included big news like the release date of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, gameplay from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign, and the announcement of early access starting soon for Towerborne. But that’s not all! Fans were also given more details on Diablo IV, Starfield: Shattered Space, and more!

With Opening Night Live 2024 complete, gamescom is officially underway, and Xbox will be on the ground floor with one of its most dramatic-looking booths ever – we can’t wait for you to see it! Not only will we have many of the games mentioned here on display, but many titles for both Xbox and Windows PC will be playable, like Ara: History Untold and Age of Mythology Retold, as well as games from our partners like Genshin Impact, Star Wars: Outlaws, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, giving you the chance to explore all the different ways you can play your favorite games across Cloud, Console, and PC.

Age of Mythology: Retold Heads for Launch with Brand New Trailer

Coming September 4, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, or play it day one with Game Pass.

During Opening Night Live fans around the world were treated to a new Age of Mythology: Retold trailer. Focusing on Arkantos, the hero of the game’s 50+ campaign missions, we hear the voice of Athena, coaxing Arkantos to adventure. Showcasing stunning graphics and mythological magic, the trailer gives us another taste of how much players have to be excited about. The trailer also showed the bacchanal of chaos that comes in the final Wonder Age, a new addition to Retold.

Whether you choose to play through the campaign alone or with friends, vs AI or in ranked multiplayer, every game will be different. Advanced Access starts August 27, 2024, at 5pm PT for those who pre-order the Premium Edition and full global launch kicks off on September 4, 2024, on Steam, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Shows Off the Action-Packed “Most Wanted” Campaign Mission

We got a look at highlights from one of Black Ops 6’s signature Campaign missions, “Most Wanted”, as Frank Woods’ team attempts to locate and retrieve legendary operative Russell Adler. Beginning with a covert infiltration of a political fundraiser (with a cameo from Governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton no less), we then see a descent into a CIA Black Site, and a bike riding escape sequence worthy of a classic action movie.

Along the way, we see how Campaign developer Raven is innovating – while this is a classic set piece-driven CoD mission, player choice is at the forefront. There are multiple options for how to get access to the Black Site, and you can choose to go loud or quiet as you infiltrate – it’s your mission. Never Fight Alone – Mercenaries are Coming to Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred

The first expansion for Diablo IV releases worldwide on October 8, and game director Brent Gibson took to the gamescom stage to introduce the Mercenaries – a new feature coming to Vessel of Hatred. Mercenaries are your companions in battle, who grow in strength and can be customized to support your playstyle. Each mercenary is unique in the role they serve, so no matter your class or build, you’ll find a mercenary that’s right for you!

The Worldsoul Saga begins August 26 with World of Warcraft: The War Within

2024 is a year of anniversaries for the Warcraft universe, which is turning 30 in the same year. Hearthstone celebrates 10 years, Warcraft Rumble approaches one year, and of course, World of Warcraft… which turns 20 years old in November! Feel old yet?

World of Warcraft: The War Within launches globally on August 26 and is the first installment of The Worldsoul Saga—the most ambitious story arc in WoW history. With four new zones to explore, as well as ongoing gameplay and system updates to support players of all types, this is the perfect time to celebrate the last 20 years of WoW as Blizzard prepares for the next 20 years and beyond!

Overwatch 2 is also getting in on the celebrations, revealing their new in-game collaboration with World of Warcraft. In mid-September, skins featuring some of the most iconic World of Warcraft characters will be made available, including Widowmaker as Sylvanas Windrunner.

Microsoft has confirmed the next batch of titles headed to Xbox Game Pass for the latter half of August: Atlas Fallen, Core Keeper, and Star Trucker.

Then there's that little known game called Call of Duty Black Ops 6. You'll be able to participate in the early access open beta when it kicks off for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on 30th August, 2024, with pre-downloading available from 28th August.

Call of Duty has become an absolute hard drive hog in recent years, with 2023's entry managing to consume over 200GB of storage in some cases. That all might be about to change, however, as Activision has announced major changes to the way it'll be handing installs with this year's Black Ops 6, promising "smaller and more customised downloads" as a result.

Activision shared the news in a post on its Call of Duty blog, explaining its optimisation work will begin with a revamp of "the experience formerly known as Call of Duty HQ". This revamp is set to roll out over the course of several updates ahead of Black Ops 6's October launch, and will promises to introduce a streamlined interface, direct access to games, more control over downloads, and expanded texture streaming technology to reduce file sizes.

A first update to reorganise game content arrives on 21st August. Then, following Black Ops 6's open beta on 30th August, a new user interface and other "remaining updates" are scheduled for mid-October. After these "larger initial updates", Activision says future Call of Duty downloads will decrease in size and existing files will take up less space on players' device.

Activision sure is dragging out its reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies mode. But if you're sucker for the undead stuff, there's more where last week's trailer and gameplay reveal came from, with developer Treyarch having now offered a tour of Zombies' Terminus map.

Terminus Island is one of two maps that'll be available at launch (the other being the West Virginian town of Liberty Falls), and Treyarch calls it "one of the largest round-based Zombies maps ever created". Black Ops 6's Zombies mode takes place in the early 90s - five years after the events of Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode - and Terminus Island serves as a prison for some familiar Requiem faces. After their liberation early at the start of the story, players can explore the prison itself before moving out to investigate its tropical island surroundings.

There's a secret research facility specialising in "weird science" (in case you were wondering where the zombies might spring up from this time), as well as the ocean, and assorted smaller islands - all of which players will visit as part of Terminus' main quest. Gamescom Opening Live has kicked off with a new look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The video shows part of the Most Wanted level from the Campaign, Epic would be one word to describe the footage, check it out.

“While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them.”

The video also shows off a new feature which they have called Omnimovement. “Across the entire game, players will push beyond their limits with several new global innovations, including omnimovement, the most fluid boots-on-the-ground Call of Duty movement to date, that utilizes the ability to seamlessly chain combat maneuvers in any direction.”

As usual the game will include multiplayer with 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. There will also be the “return of a more traditional Prestige system, bigger and more rewarding than ever.”

Of course there is also a zombies mode, “Black Ops 6 also marks the return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.”

Vylepšení jsou v sérii nová a hráči mají přístup ke třem hlavním a třem vedlejším. Hlavní rozšíření zahrnuje tři elektrické koule, které obíhají kolem hráče a chrání ho, zatímco vedlejší rozšíření způsobuje něco jako Napalm Burst, který způsobuje o něco větší poškození. Moderátor Geoff Keighley potvrdil, že střílečka dostane první gameplay kampaně na zahajovacím ceremoniálu 20. srpna.

Obsah zatím není znám (i když by mohl představovat misi ve hře). Víme, že kampaň střílečky z pohledu první osoby se odehrává bezprostředně po Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War a je zasazena do období války v Perském zálivu. Hráč a jeho spojenci se v ní vydávají na zběsilou cestu poté, co CIA zdánlivě ovládne nová hrozba. Další agenti se k nim přidávají a operují v novém sídle.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 vychází 25. října pro konzole Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 a PC. Bude to také první titul v sérii, který bude v první den spuštěn v rámci služby Game Pass.

Společnosti Activision a Treyarch představily první záběry ze hry Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 v režimu Zombies, které se zaměřují na první mapu Terminus. V rámci pokračování příběhové linie Dark Aether musí hlavní aktéři uniknout z vězení, kde se to hemží zombiemi (a kde probíhají experimenty s nemrtvými).

Vedle nových zbraní umožňují některé bonusy přeměnu na těžkou jednotku a útočí na nemrtvé. Za zmínku stojí také všesměrový pohyb, kdy se postavy potápějí a mohou se na zemi otočit o 180 stupňů, aby mohly střílet na zombie za sebou.

Zatímco typických hrozeb je mnoho, objevují se i nové hrůzy, od pavoukovitého tvora až po masu nemrtvých shluknutých do jednoho nepřítele. Dokonce se objeví i něco ve vodě s obludnými chapadly. To je samozřejmě jen jedna část zážitku ze Zombies při uvedení na trh – k dispozici bude i další mapa Liberty Falls, která bude odhalena 28. srpna na Call of Duty Next.

Postavy

Na jedné ze dvou map, které budou k dispozici při uvedení na trh, Terminus se znovu setkávají herci ze hry Cold War, kteří se však ocitli v zoufalé situaci. V novém videu Intel Drop se vývojový tým rozpovídal o tom, jak se věci od poslední hry změnily.

Stručně řečeno, Richtoffen uvrhl naše hrdiny na neznámé místo a oni se po šesti letech musí spojit se svým bývalým nepřítelem, doktorem Peckem. U každého člena došlo k určitým změnám, ať už jde o Weavera, který se potýká s pocitem viny za smrt svého týmu, doktora Greye, který přitvrdil, nebo Carvera, který se snaží najít si místo poté, co byl zbaven své hodnosti.

Maya je nováček, který se při pátrání po svém bratrovi spojí s Peckem. Společným cílem je však útěk a pomsta Richtoffenovi. Treyarch potvrzuje, že postavy hrdinů spolu mohou během hraní konverzovat, což přispívá k příběhu. Ostatní operátoři jsou stále k dispozici, pokud si je hráči vyberou.

Images of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have leaked online, including multiplayer maps, menu screens, and perks.

Within hours, the screenshots were hit with copyright claims from Activision, adding credence to the claims they come from an in-development build. However, this is the internet, which means nothing's ever truly gone, and the images are still going up faster than Activision can remove them.

Whilst the map images have since been removed, the leaker claims the maps have partial titles, many of which will be familiar to Call of Duty players.

Microsoft's continued decline in Xbox console sales continued through the last financial quarter, the company has confirmed.

In what is now a familiar pattern - and one not limited to Microsoft - revenue from gaming hardware fell again, this time by 42 percent. That's down further on the 31 percent fall reported back in April this year, for the quarter before.

Microsoft's gaming revenue overall was up overall by 44 percent, thanks to a significant boost from the addition of Activision Blizzard, which Microsoft bought for $68.7bn before its latest round of layoffs. Without Activision, growth would have sat around three percent.

I don’t usually let myself get swept up in the annual wave of pre-release Call of Duty hysteria - I’ve been burned too many times by the series in recent years. However, this time around I’m making an exception because everything that I’ve seen about Black Ops 6 so far is looking mighty fine to me. Zombies is one of the biggest aspects I’m excited for - a proper return to round-based action from the maestros at Treyarch - and two teasers that just dropped on social media appear to be revealing a new Perk-A-Cola and a new enemy type that you’ll be facing in BO6.

Byly odhaleny termíny multiplayerových betaverzí hry Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 a v souladu se slovy Microsoftu bylo také potvrzeno, že letošní díl bude mít poprvé betaverzi na všech platformách současně a nebude vázán na PlayStation s časovou exkluzivitou, jak tomu bylo v minulých letech.

Během prvního dílu oficiálního podcastu Call of Duty bylo oznámeno, že beta předběžného přístupu pro Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 bude spuštěna na všech platformách 30. srpna a potrvá až do 4. září. With Sony having surprised precisely no-one by announcing that, once again, PlayStation won't be at this year's Gamescom, Microsoft has seized the opportunity to let everyone know that, by Jove, Xbox will be at this year's show.

Microsoft shared the news over on social media, inviting attendees to visit its "biggest booth yet" when Gamescom returns to Cologne, Germany, in August this year.

Microsoft will, of course, be the only major console maker to have at presence at Gamescom 2024; Nintendo confirmed it wouldn't be coming along back in April, saying there would be opportunities for players to try Switch games at other events throughout the year, and PlayStation confirmed a no-show earlier this week. Sony's absence hardly warrants a raised eyebrow, however, given it hasn't showed up since 2019.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will require a "continuous internet connection" - even when you're playing its campaign mode.

In a blog post published by Activision today, the publisher advises that the Cold War-set shooter uses "texture streaming across all game modes".

"This means you'll need a continuous internet connection to play any game mode, including Campaign," Activision wrote.

The Xbox Games Showcase and Black Ops 6 Direct 2024 is over! As usual we gained some insight into upcoming Xbox titles through a selection of new reveals and updates for released titles. Much like last year with Starfield, the showcase ended with an extended look at one special game - and this time it was Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Alongside Black Ops 6, we also got a look at Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Avowed, Dragon Age: The Veilguard and South of Midnight. And, as you'd expect, many of the games shown are going to be available from Game Pass from day one. Now, let's stop messing about and get the trailers started!

The Xbox Game Showcase began with the campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Set in the 1990s after the end of the Cold War, it promises to bring guns, action, conspiracies and motorbikes (at least in the cutscenes.)

Despite promising signs in the initial reveal trailer from developer Treyarch, where big Maggie features alongside the similarly well-liked Saddam Hussein, George Bush Senior, and Bill Clinton - and the fact that Ronald Reagan was playable in the previous entry, Black Ops Cold War - Treyarch confirmed to Eurogamer during an interview earlier this week that she won't be playable, ever.

"No," said Yale Miller, senior director of production at Treyarch on Black Ops 6, when Eurogamer asked.

The 90s may be back, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's roster of provocative policial characters makes clear, but at Treyarch it might be a bit closer to 2013. Just as Battlefield 4 had Levolution and Forza had its Drivatars, Black Ops 6 is reviving the once-popular trend of making up silly words for neat, new, though not exactly groundbreaking ideas.

In COD's case, it's 'omnimovement', Black Ops 6's headline new feature that means instead of only being able to sprint when moving forwards, you can now sprint backwards, side to side, and any other direction in 360 degrees, with admittedly very nice animations to match. In a presentation given ahead of the big Call of Duty showcase on Xbox's stage this weekend, developers from Treyarch explained this was based on a combination of real "elite" military experts' abilities, a tonal approach for Black Ops 6 that focused on action movie-star moments, and an overall push for fidelity across the board.

Black Ops 6's narrative setup is decidedly Call of Duty. The Gulf War and global tensions of the early 90s are a "backdrop" to a concocted story of enjoyably outlandish espionage. The CIA has been infiltrated by a "shadowy organisation" right at the very top, and so you and a ragtag team - including Russel Adler, Black Ops 2's antagonistic haircut, who's also gone full Kurt Russell-in-Big-Trouble-in-Little-China parody action hero here - must go it alone, acting rogue and with full licence to break whatever rules you like. Thankfully, there are absolutely no global events whatsoever occurring right now that might make pitching a game on your ability to do war crimes at will a cause for concern.

Marshall and Woods are working with another new face in Black Ops 6: CIA handler Jane Harrow. She is a born leader, fearless and brilliant, and helps manage their relationships within the agency.

When an operation goes wrong, Woods and Marshall are suspended and ultimately forced to go rogue, and they soon realize they must trust each other to really get to the bottom of what’s going on. They must build their own team of rogue agents, recruiting two intriguing new characters in Felix Neumann, a technical genius, and Sevati Dumas, a mysterious assassin.

With a mixture of new and old faces, a legendary wildcard also returns to the fight – Russell Adler.  While his allegiances and motivations remain unclear, this former ally may have become a new and daunting enemy.

Leading the development of the Black Ops 6 Campaign is Raven Software, and with this Campaign, their goal is to deliver more: an increased variety of mission structures, additional focus on player choice, and more options to finish each mission, with dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay throughout. 

Mission variety is a key component of what PlayStation players can expect. From a map standpoint, some locations are more ideal for stealth, and some are more appropriate for large-scale battles, and the Campaign has a balance of both. These range from storming a palace to pulling off a heist in an opulent, southern European casino. Within the Campaign missions gameplay can unfold in multiple ways, giving the player the freedom to navigate through them as they see fit. This includes combat as well as conversation, as operatives talk, barter, and manipulate their way into different outcomes.

Treyarch is leaving no stone unturned in the development of both Multiplayer and Zombies. Many more details are coming later in the year on each of these modes but there are a few key things we can share now. 

In Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Many of these maps feature innovations on the classic three-lane map design, with quick time to engagement, and coming in the small to medium-sized range for the right amount of complexity. This allows for meaningful player choice, keeping the action flowing and the pacing optimal. A key point for Treyarch is that maps intentionally support gameplay variety.

But that’s not all. It’s time to rejoice, Zombies fans! Round-based Zombies is back in a massive way. Players will be able to take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch in the return of this fan-favorite mode. Players will experience the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline that started in Black Ops Cold War, with each map containing a curated mix of elements both new and familiar to discover.

And of course, in Black Ops 6’s post-launch seasons, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.

Across the entire game, players will push beyond their limits with several new global innovations, including Omnimovement, the most fluid boots-on-the-ground Call of Duty movement to date. Movement has been a consistent area of focus and innovation across Call of Duty – and with Black Ops 6, Treyarch is redefining movement in a big way.

For the first time ever, players can sprint in any direction (forward, sidestepping, and backpedaling) and move like a true Black Ops action hero. This innovation immediately allows the player to move like never before and seamlessly chain combat maneuvers together, like sliding, diving, and a newly-enhanced supine prone, all with a full 360 degrees range of motion.

With Omnimovement – and core player movement in general – it’s not just about making the player move faster. This is Treyarch’s holistic approach to redefine what Black Ops movement really means. The upcoming Multiplayer Beta will be a perfect opportunity for PlayStation players to try it out for themselves.

Po včerejším velkém představení her pro Xbox se společnosti Microsoft a Activision plně věnovaly tomu, co bude jistě největší hrou roku, a to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ve svém vlastním Directu.

Po několika otřesných letech pro sérii CoD to vypadá, že se jedná o hru, na kterou fanoušci čekali, s ambiciózní kampaní, významnými aktualizacemi základní hratelnosti, návratem zombíků a dalšími novinkami. Na celý Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct se můžete podívat níže, pokud máte zhruba 25 minut času, nebo můžete sjet dolů pro naše shrnutí důležitých bodů.

Kampaň

Přímý přenos Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 poskytl podrobný pohled na kampaň hry, za kterou stojí Raven Software společně s Treyarchem. Vypadá to na jednu z nejzajímavějších kampaní CoD za poslední dobu, která oživuje prostředí počátku 90. let a do níž se vrací Frank Woods upoutaný na invalidní vozík, který působí jako jakýsi mentor nového Troye Marshalla a nového týmu. A ano, vrací se i Russell Adler.

Co se týče hratelnosti, Raven slibuje otevřenější mise s různými způsoby, jak dosáhnout svých cílů, z nichž některé nezahrnují boj. Ano, v některých scénářích se skutečně budete moci prokecat. K dispozici bude také nové centrum kampaně Safe House, do jehož okolí se budete vracet mezi jednotlivými misemi. Zde je trochu více podrobností o příběhu kampaně.

„Black Ops 6 spojuje bohatou a drsnou historii předchozích dílů Black Ops s vracejícími se i novými odvážnými postavami – a veterán Frank Woods je průchozí linií našeho příběhu. Napříč kampaní uvidíme Woodsovu odlišnou stránku po jeho traumatickém zranění z rukou Raula Menendeze. Byl stažen z terénu a vy s ním budete komunikovat, jak si zvyká na novou roli v rámci CIA.

Jeho chráněncem je Troy Marshall, který si v terénu udělal jméno. Marshall je metodický vůdce, který se řídí silným morálním kompasem. Brzy si uvědomí, že si musí navzájem důvěřovat, aby přišli na kloub tomu, co se děje, a to bez jakýchkoli obvyklých prostředků. Musí si vytvořit vlastní tým zběhlých agentů a naverbovat dvě nové zajímavé postavy Felixe Neumanna, technického génia, a Sevatiho Dumase, tajemného zabijáka.

Do boje se vrací směs nových i známých tváří a také legendární divoká karta – vrací se nechvalně proslulý Russell Adler! Ačkoli jeho věrnost a motivace zůstávají nejasné, tento bývalý spojenec se možná stal novým a hrozivým nepřítelem.“

„Různorodost misí je ve zvráceném, tajném světě Black Ops 6 klíčovou složkou. Společnost Raven Software vytvořila jednotlivé mise od základu, přičemž každá z nich nabízí také rozmanité metody, jak k nim přistupovat a jak je plnit.

V jedné misi například proniknete do starého kanalizačního systému pod honosným kasinem v jižní Evropě a tyto katakomby jsou jednou z mnoha lokací, které jsou ideální spíše pro stealth, kde je slyšet jen tlumený křik nebo krkolomné pády nepřítele, než se takticky přemístíte nahoru a provedete odvážnou loupež v samotném kasinu. Jiné oblasti jsou vhodnější pro rozsáhlé bitvy, například útok na palác v irácké poušti.“

Omnimovement a aktualizace hry

Společnost Treyarch také výrazně přepracovává základní hratelnost hry Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a to díky novému systému Omnimovement. Ten hráčům umožňuje provádět nové, realističtější pohyby, jako je sklouznutí, střemhlavý let a střelbu, sprint v libovolném směru, střelbu, kotoul a manévrování v leže a další. „Inteligentní pohyb“ znamená, že to vše lze provádět i s menším počtem stisků tlačítek.

„Poprvé v historii mohou hráči sprintovat, klouzat a potápět se v libovolném směru (dopředu, do strany a dozadu) a pohybovat se jako pravý akční hrdina Black Ops. Tato inovace okamžitě umožňuje hráči pohybovat se jako nikdy předtím a plynule řetězit bojové manévry, jako je klouzání, potápění a nově vylepšená pozice vleže na zádech, a to vše s plným rozsahem pohybu 360 stupňů.

Pokud můžete sprintovat v jakémkoli směru, pak z toho logicky vyplývá, že se můžete také klouzat a potápět v jakémkoli směru. Tím se otevřel svět nových pohybových možností. Po spuštění jednoduchého – a nesmírně poutavého – prototypu tým okamžitě věděl, že jde o mnohem víc než jen o skromné vylepšení způsobu manévrování Operátora v boji.“

Mezi další významná vylepšení hratelnosti patří možnost plně si přizpůsobit HUD a nepřátelé, kteří mají pokročilejší umělou inteligenci a více oblastí zásahu, což bude mít za následek realističtější animace smrti. Zajímavé je, že hra bude také vylepšovat svou vizuální stránku pomocí streamování textur v cloudu, což znamená, že ano, budete potřebovat online připojení i při hraní kampaně pro jednoho hráče.

Multiplayer

Společnost Activision si zatím nechává informace o tradičním Mutliplayeru pro pozdější odhalení, ale slibuje 16 zcela nových map při uvedení na trh (žádné remastery). Vrátí se také režim Theater, který zachytí vaše nejlepší momenty. Více informací o multiplayeru se dozvíme 28. srpna.

Zombies

Nakonec se vrací tradičně hra Zombies odehrávající se v jednotlivých kolech s pokračováním příběhové linie Dark Aether. Treyarch slibuje dvě zcela nové mapy, které budou nepochybně plné obvyklé řady easter eggů.

Akce Xbox Games Showcase skončila a společnosti Treyarch a Raven Software se ve svém speciálním programu CoD Direct věnovali hře Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Jak je podrobně popsáno na blogu Call of Duty, kampaň vede společnost Raven Software ve spolupráci s Treyarchem a odehrává se v době po studené válce.

Zajímavé je, že navazuje na flashbacky z Black Ops 2, a to s novým hlavním hrdinou Troyem Marshallem. Frank Woods je potlučený, zatímco k týmu se přidává manipulátorka CIA Jane Harrowová. Po zpackané operaci se tým vydává na zteč a zjišťuje, že do americké vlády pronikla stínová organizace. Přibíráním nových členů týmu, od technického mága Felixe Neumanna až po zabijáka Sevatiho Dumase, se musí vypořádat i s bývalým spojencem Russellem Adlerem.

Black Ops 6 slibuje větší rozmanitost misí, včetně kasina a paláce v iráckých pouštích. Můžete si vybrat různé metody, od směnného obchodu a manipulace až po střelbu, čemuž se přizpůsobí i nepřátelé. Společnost požadavek na připojení pouze online odhalila v nedávném příspěvku o různých edicích hry, které budou k dispozici.

„Aby hra Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 poskytovala co nejkvalitnější vizuální zpracování a zároveň snížila celkový úložný prostor na vašem pevném disku, bude ve všech herních režimech využívat streamování textur,“ napsala společnost ve FAQ o hře. „To znamená, že pro hraní jakéhokoli herního režimu, včetně kampaně, budete potřebovat nepřetržité připojení k internetu. Hra Call of Duty je zdaleka největší herní značkou, kterou Microsoft vlastní, takže nebylo překvapením, že právě ona zahájila nedávnou přehlídku her pro Xbox.

Přehlídku zahájil nový trailer na chystanou hru Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, který se zaměřil na kampaň pro jednoho hráče a ukázal prostředí 90. let, ústřední konflikt války v Zálivu, řadu známých postav a mnoho dalšího. Trailer si prohlédněte níže.

It’s the early ‘90s – a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them. They are forced to go rogue, partnering with the criminal underworld to stay one step ahead of their own corrupted government. With the Campaign taking place in the years after the Cold War, longtime fans will recognize that this timeframe is directly connected to the 1980s flashbacks revealed during Black Ops 2 – the aftermath of which has left our heroes in dire circumstances.

In this new chapter, we see a different side of Frank Woods following his traumatic injury at the hands of Raul Menendez. His protege is Troy Marshall, who has been making a name for himself in the field. Marshall is a reluctant leader, driven by a strong moral compass.

Marshall and Woods are working with another new face in Black Ops 6: CIA handler Jane Harrow. She is a born leader, fearless and brilliant, and helps manage their relationships within the agency.

When an operation goes wrong, Woods and Marshall are suspended and ultimately forced to go rogue, and they soon realize they must trust each other to really get to the bottom of what’s going on. They must build their own team of rogue agents, recruiting two intriguing new characters in Felix Neumann, a technical genius, and Sevati Dumas, a mysterious assassin.

With a mixture of new and old faces, a legendary wildcard also returns to the fight – Russell Adler.  While his allegiances and motivations remain unclear, this former ally may have become a new and daunting enemy.

Leading the development of the Black Ops 6 Campaign is Raven Software, and with this Campaign, their goal is to deliver more: an increased variety of mission structures, additional focus on player choice, and more options to finish each mission, with dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay throughout. 

Mission variety is a key component of what PlayStation players can expect. From a map standpoint, some locations are more ideal for stealth, and some are more appropriate for large-scale battles, and the Campaign has a balance of both. These range from storming a palace to pulling off a heist in an opulent, southern European casino. Within the Campaign missions gameplay can unfold in multiple ways, giving the player the freedom to navigate through them as they see fit. This includes combat as well as conversation, as operatives talk, barter, and manipulate their way into different outcomes.

Treyarch is leaving no stone unturned in the development of both Multiplayer and Zombies. Many more details are coming later in the year on each of these modes but there are a few key things we can share now. 

In Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Many of these maps feature innovations on the classic three-lane map design, with quick time to engagement, and coming in the small to medium-sized range for the right amount of complexity. This allows for meaningful player choice, keeping the action flowing and the pacing optimal. A key point for Treyarch is that maps intentionally support gameplay variety.

But that’s not all. It’s time to rejoice, Zombies fans! Round-based Zombies is back in a massive way. Players will be able to take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch in the return of this fan-favorite mode. Players will experience the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline that started in Black Ops Cold War, with each map containing a curated mix of elements both new and familiar to discover.

And of course, in Black Ops 6’s post-launch seasons, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.

Across the entire game, players will push beyond their limits with several new global innovations, including Omnimovement, the most fluid boots-on-the-ground Call of Duty movement to date. Movement has been a consistent area of focus and innovation across Call of Duty – and with Black Ops 6, Treyarch is redefining movement in a big way.

For the first time ever, players can sprint in any direction (forward, sidestepping, and backpedaling) and move like a true Black Ops action hero. This innovation immediately allows the player to move like never before and seamlessly chain combat maneuvers together, like sliding, diving, and a newly-enhanced supine prone, all with a full 360 degrees range of motion.

With Omnimovement – and core player movement in general – it’s not just about making the player move faster. This is Treyarch’s holistic approach to redefine what Black Ops movement really means. The CoD HQ launcher has to be one of the least popular additions the series has received in recent years. The act of launching, and relaunching, just to get to the game you want to play instead of the game the app has decided you should play is torturous. Thankfully, there may be change on the horizon, as the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 developer is looking to get it behaving a little better.

What is the Black Ops 6 release date? There is a sizable portion of the Call of Duty fandom that rejoices whenever a new Black Ops game is on the horizon; the more cerebral branch of the first-person shooter not only brings best-in-class multiplayer gameplay but also a renewed focus on the single-player story. Black Ops isn’t afraid to push the limits of Call of Duty, and going from early reveals, the newest entry is looking to go beyond anything we’ve seen before.

You can usually set your clock to a Call of Duty release, and it looks like this year will be no different. The to and fro of CoD brands sees us froing to Black Ops this year, and back in time if the teasers are to be believed - although not as far as previous installments. We’ve collected all the information available on the FPS game, including the newest Black Ops 6 trailers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will make it a requirement for players to be always online, even in campaign mode, and all past bans will apply to the new game as well. This came up after the June 2024 Xbox Games Showcase reveal

In a page detailing the features of various editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Activision confirmed the always online requirement. According to the site, the game will make use of texture streaming. The studio claims this will allow them to provide high quality visuals while reducing storage space on player hard drives. This will include the Campaign mode, meaning even single player content will require a connection. Activision has confirmed that the Campaign mode can be played without the need for an online subscription on console.

In addition, Activision also confirmed that all permanent bans will be carried over to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This restriction will apply for any bans issued in all games released since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from 2019. This will extend to Battle.net, as any banned player attempting to buy the game through the storefront will be unable to do so. They can buy the game through other storefronts but will be unable to access online modes due to their ban. The ban appears to not affect the ability to play the Campaign mode, despite the online requirement.

Dataminers have found new details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

As shown in the posts below, the next Call of Duty game will reportedly release on both previous and current generation consoles. This ties in with reports earlier in the month, when images of a GameStop pre-order screen for the game started making the rounds online.

Additionally, those interested will seemingly be able to pick up a 'Vault' edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, as well as the 'Standard' edition.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available across all Game Pass tiers, Microsoft has confirmed.

"Upon launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be playable on Xbox and PC for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass for Console members," a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer earlier today.

UPDATE 3pm UK: It's now official. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch directly into Xbox Game Pass when it arrives later this year.

Microsoft made the brief statement this afternoon after its earlier leak, and pointed to its upcoming Xbox Showcase event for "even more details on what's coming in this all-new Call of Duty".
