BioShock Movie and New Game’s Releases Will Roughly Coincide, Says Movie Producer

The BioShock movie adaptation has been in discussion for a long time. Less than a year after the original game's debut, publisher Take-Two Interactive announced that it had signed a deal with Universal Studios for a film that would have been directed by Gore Verbinski (The Ring, the first three Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Lone Ranger) and written by John Logan (Gladiator, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Skyfall, and Spectre). Next BioShock Is Now on a Great Track to Take the Franchise to the Next Level, Says Take-Two CEO

It's been twelve and a half years since Irrational Games launched BioShock Infinite, the last installment in the immersive single player first-person shooter franchise. Franchise creator Ken Levine notoriously decided to disband the studio and form the much smaller Ghost Story Games, which is now working on Judas.
