Samsung relaunches Samsung Care+ in India
In 2020, Samsung launched Samsung Care+ in India, a series of plans that offer extended warranty and/or accidental damage protection for Samsung’s devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Well, Samsung India has just made an announcement about Samsung Care+ and we can’t get our heads around it.
Samsung has issued a press release announcing that it has launched Samsung Care+ in India. It doesn’t make sense considering that the company has already been offering the service in the country for the last four years. It looks like the brand is just relaunching the service to let more people know that such a thing exists and attract more customers.
No, Samsung hasn't upgraded Samsung Care+ in India with more benefits
Some publications have reported that the announcement is about the company upgrading Samsung Care+ to offer two screen replacements per year instead of one. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as Samsung hasn’t mentioned that upgrade anywhere in the press release.
In fact, the page for Samsung Care+ on Samsung’s website for India clearly says “Under Screen Protection, ADLD & Comprehensive Protection Samsung Care+ plans, you are allowed to raise One (1) damage claim per year.” The same condition is also mentioned on the buying page.
The story continues after the video…
We have come across an image from Samsung that says “Multiple Claims Zero Worries,” which the company seems to have taken down. We think that it would have given some people the notion that the company will now offer at least two screen replacements per year rather than one. However, that isn’t the case.
On a related note, Samsung has given owners of Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the United States a (second) chance to purchase Samsung Care+. The campaign is live for a limited period of time. So, if you are interested, now is the time to act.
