Witcher devs' Project Hadar will make you feel all of the open-world emotions, a new job ad suggests, though sorry it still isn't a cosmic Japanese horror game

They might have proven they deal in secret extra DLC for decade-old RPGs this year, but for my money, Project Hadar remains the most mysterious game CD Projekt have in the works. It's always there in their financial reports alongside The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, flaunting its sheer unknowableness. Its creators, meanwhile, have said precious little regarding what it looks like, aside from confirming that it's not one weirdly specific thing: a cosmic horror game set in feudal Japan.

That's left the curious to scour the likes of job listings for various roles on Project Hadar. Previous ones have suggested it'll be a bit action RPG-ish and have melee combat. The latest, spotted by GamesRadar, paints it as being open-world and keen on making you cry.

What are we all playing this weekend?

I thought I would make it all the way through winter without getting ill. We're practically touching March. Yet, despite being within spitting distance of the clocks changing and bright evenings returning, I have the lurgy. This weekend, I will practice the art of the double duvet sausage roll.

Get your trunks on kids, Kojima's taking us to the beach when Death Stranding 2 comes to PC next month

You knew it was coming, I knew it was coming, and now one Mr. Hideo Kojima himself (disclaimer: technically it was Sony during tonight's State of Play, though I'm sure he's Fweeted about it on Fwitter) has confirmed that yes, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is making its way to PC. It's also doing so pretty soon, and with a small suite of additional features not present in its original PS5 release.

Right, get ready for some chatter about where the contents of our collective wallets have gone over the past year. That's alongside all of the moderately to quite old stuff which more folks keep hopping on the train of with every passing 12 month period.

CD Projekt plan to release The Witcher 4, 5, & 6 within six years of one another, and oh, are those pigs flying?

If a CEO says their company is going to do that something sounds ridiculously unrealistic, or borderline unachievable if you actually take a second to think about it, you can probably assume that this is for the ears of shareholders. With that said, CD Projekt Red recently held a financial call (thanks, IGN), where co-CEO Michał Nowakowski made some comments about The Witcher 4… and The Witcher 5 and 6, all of which are apparently planned to be released within a six-year period. Right!

The best PC games of all time in 2025

Since 1873, the team at Rock Paper Shotgun have gathered once a year to select what they believe to be the best PC games of all time. Admittedly, they only started writing the list down in 2021, but try not to hold their spotty recordkeeping against them.

The snazzy and sumptuous RPS Advent Calendar 2025

Dastardly December has done it again. Here I was having a nice time with November, joking about the time February tried to explain leap years to August, and the wintry month snuck up in my blindspot. Now December's in the house, kicking back on the sofa with its feet up on the table. At least it's brought a gift: the RPS Advent Calendar 2025, the list of our favourite games of the year.

Cyberpunk 2's dev team is set to double in size by the end of 2027, hopefully meaning its cyberfoundations'll be laid by then

Cyberpunk 2's dev team is set to grow substantially over the next couple of years, as CD Projekt ramp up development. While most of their ranks right now are on The Witcher 4, a game that's at least made some public cameos even if it's still sans release date, once 2027 rolls around, Cyberpunk 2 looks like it won't be too far behind.

This info comes from the company's latest financial report, covering the time running from July 1st to September 30th this year.

World of Warcraft's Midnight expansion releases in March, bringing a Voidstorm plague on all the new houses

World of Warcraft's Midnight expansion finally has a full release date. It'll arrive on March 2nd, 2026, setting in stone the new player housing that's debuting in early access this December and bringing forth the bunch of other changes planned alongside its main invasion storyline.

That list of changes includes the introduction of a new premium currency call Hearthsteel, which you'll need top use to buy a "small fraction" of the house-related bits and bobs being added in with Midnight. Why? Reasons, Blizzard have said.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach PC release confirmed by ESRB ratings board

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has been listed for PC, bringing closer the moment in which you and I can learn why exactly Troy Baker is a glam rocker, why Mad Max director George Miller (it's not actually him) has a cat demon, and why Turkish-German screenwriter Fatih Akin has become a living doll. Sony have yet to announce the PC version of Hideo Kojima's open world courier fantasy or give it a release date, but the Entertainment Software Rating Board have a page up now. Go on, Sony - call them liar liar, pants on fire.
