Arcs je nová desková hra od renomovaného studia Leder Games stojící za populárními tituly jako Root a Oath. Hra se odehrává ve vzdálené budoucnosti v rozsáhlé a neustále se měnící galaxii, kde se hráči ujímají role mocných velitelů flotil. Jejich úkolem je rozšířit své impérium, navázat aliance a čelit nepředvídatelným hrozbám, které vesmír skrývá.

Jedním z největších taháků hry Arcs je její modulární kampaňový systém. Hru lze hrát jako samostatný zážitek v rámci jednoho sezení, ale skutečný potenciál se rozvíjí v kampaních, které mohou trvat několik herních večerů. Každá kampaň je přizpůsobitelná a rozhodnutí, jenž hráči učiní, mají dlouhodobé následky ovlivňující vývoj příběhu i samotný herní svět. Tím se Arcs odlišuje od mnoha jiných her na trhu, protože hráči nikdy neví, jakým směrem se příběh vydá, a každá kampaň je tak unikátním zážitkem.

Titul kombinuje prvky diplomacie, taktické bitvy a řízení zdrojů. Hráči mají možnost budovat aliance, obchodovat, ale i vést intenzivní vesmírné souboje. Bojový systém je navržen tak, aby byl rychlý a zároveň komplexní, což dává hráčům mnoho možností, jak využít své jednotky a schopnosti ke strategickým výhodám. My Hero Academia is, without a doubt, one of the most influential anime and manga to release in the past few decades. Initially compared to other Shonen works ad nauseam, it managed to set itself apart thanks to its creative characters, dazzling art, and engaging story arcs.

And yet, when one looks back at all of its different arcs, some are clearly a cut above the rest. To that end, we’re here to rank every My Hero Academia arc from worst to best.

In a blink and you’ll miss it moment, Apple confirmed RCS messaging support will officially arrive as part of iOS 18 later this fall. The new standard will replace SMS as the default protocol when communicating between Android and iPhone devices, hopefully putting an end to the dreaded green bubble drama. In fact, Apple didn’t talk about it all, simply adding a reference to RCS support into a single slide about iOS 18.

It’s no shocker that Apple isn’t making a song and dance about this. It’s been dragging its feet on embracing RCS, despite nudges from the EU and various other regulatory heavyweights. Late last year, it finally caved, admitting it would adopt RCS eventually but gave us the bare minimum on the details. It was largely expected Apple would reveal RCS details here, but Apple events are usually more about the cheers than the jeers. Frankly, Apple doesn’t want to highlight what feels like a concession, so they opted for a slide mention — smooth, Apple, real smooth.

To combat the awful green bubble stigma, Google has been pushing Apple to #GetTheMessage, i.e., add support for RCS messaging in the iOS Messages app. In a surprise announcement late last year, Apple confirmed it planned to add support for RCS in the Messages app. RCS in Apple Messages will roll out sometime this year, and Apple confirmed it’ll be based on the RCS Universal Profile standard published by the GSM Association. However, Apple didn’t confirm which version of the RCS Universal Profile it would implement, but thanks to Google, we now know.

The biggest feature in iOS 18, the one that affects the most people, was a single item in a comma-stuffed sentence by Apple software boss Craig Federighi: "Support for RCS."

As we noted when Apple announced its support for "RCS Universal Profile," a kind of minimum viable cross-device rich messaging, iPhone users getting RCS means SMS chains with Android users "will be slightly less awful." SMS messages will soon have read receipts, higher-quality media sending, and typing indicators, along with better security. And RCS messages can go over Wi-Fi when you don't have a cellular signal. Apple is certainly downplaying a major cross-platform compatibility upgrade, but it's a notable quality-of-life boost.

– Ensuring that message-issuing/receiving devices are following the operating measures defined by the RCS standard is one of the ways Google Messages prevent spam and abuse.

– As we fight spammers and fraudsters, we take into account different indicators. A large volume of RCS spam comes from automation, which typically relies on modifications to the sending device.

– Our spam prevention techniques constantly evolve in response to the changing behavior of spammers. We will continue to look for ways to prevent spam and fraud while minimizing the number of users affected.

Original article: March 1, 2024 (4:46 AM ET): We’ve all seen Google wax poetically and relentlessly on how RCS messaging is the next best thing since sliced bread and how Apple should adopt the standard on its iPhones to bring a great messaging experience to all users.
