Wander Stars Review

6. Leden 2026 v 20:00

Honor, Love, And Punching People Really Hard

HIGH Memorable characters and a clever combat mechanic.

LOW Enemies are frequently weak against words the player hasn’t found.

WTF But… what about the tournament?

Ringo is a typical 14-year-old kid.  She tries to be fiercely independent, but is capable of great love and loyalty.  She’s headstrong, lazy, snarky, and apparently doesn’t bathe enough.  She’s also tremendously good at kicking people in the face.

Ringo dreams of two things — finding her missing brother, and someday winning the Kiai Tournament, which is the ultimate martial arts spectacle/competition/game show in the known universe.

When a mysterious ship bearing the ne’er do well Wolfe crash-lands on her planet, Ringo discovers that she carries part of the fabled Wanderstar map, which may give her both the answers she seeks and the training she needs to meet both her goals… provided evil pirates don’t get her first.

Wander Stars could be coarsely summed up as a menu-driven RPG featuring anime-inspired visuals that are a love letter to Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball), but it’s so much more than that.

For starters, when I say “menu-driven RPG,” I’m sure many will immediately picture something where players are given options to Fight, Run, Use, or Magic on opponents ad nauseum for dozens, if not hundreds of hours. Wander Stars does indeed use menus, but… not like that.

During combat, Ringo is provided with a certain number of slots where the player can place words to use for attack, defense, and modifiers, with some words taking up more of those slots than others.

For example, “Kick” does a limited amount of damage, but only takes up one word slot, while “Dropkick” does more damage, but takes up more slots.

During her journey, Ringo also learns modifiers that can increase damage or hasten a word’s cooldown time, allowing it to be used again sooner. She also learns environmental effects which can do more damage, provide buffs, or cause status effects like “blind”.

When it all comes together, Ringo may choose to perform something multipart and fancy like a “Super Fire Dropkick” on her foe, causing massive damage. It sounds complicated, but it becomes second nature almost immediately.

What’s trickier (and takes more time to master) is the other amazing trick Wander Stars’ combat has up its sleeve — the goal in every fight is not to knock opponents’ health to zero, but instead, to get them to surrender.

Each enemy has a hit point range (near death) in which they’ll immediately give up.  Beating them down but then allowing foes to leave the field with their dignity intact awards Honor points, which are then used to teach Ringo more words, improve health, and give more word slots for combat.

Accomplishing this is easier said than done, though. Every opponent’s range is different, and while Wander Stars tells the player exactly how much damage a move is capable of, it doesn’t mention weaknesses and resistances until a word is used — think “Not Very Effective” or “Super Effective” from the combat in Pokemon

Discovering how to determine a baddie’s weaknesses and then making sure not to knock them out completely is a challenge, and it turns combat from simply clicking on words into choosing the right phrase at the right time.  As a result, these fights are tense in a way I’ve never experienced in an RPG of this type.

So the combat lands, but what about the script? The story delves into heady topics such as love, loss, trauma, regret and sacrifice, while maintaining a sense of wonder and a healthy dose of humor along with the introspection.

In an homage to many famous JRPGs, the cast of Wander Stars is a motley crew of lost souls who come together using the power of friendship to thwart a great evil.  While that sounds cliché, clever writing and witty banter gives the narrative immense charm.  I found myself moved by Ringo’s drive to rebuild her lost family, and Wolfe’s checkered past hides a heart that has been broken beyond measure by his choices.

It’s a credit to the writing team that the story never falls into melodrama, and they know exactly when and how to change the mood with a quick joke or a poignant peek into a character’s psyche.  I can’t describe it in any more detail without risking spoilers, but it’s fantastic — my only complaints about the script are that the story ends too soon, and the ending feels like setup for a sequel.  Otherwise, the narrative is superb.

My biggest complaint, and frankly the only thing preventing me from giving Wander Stars a higher rating, is the fact that in addition to being a turn-based RPG, it also has roguelike elements which mean the adventure is designed to be played in multiple runs.  It’s fully expected that players complete each of the “episodes” more than once, so Ringo can unlock more words to use in later runs.  The problem is that many enemies are only weak against words Ringo may not learn until much later in the campaign, often making the combat more difficult than it needs to be, especially against bosses that have ridiculous amounts of health and must be completely defeated — bosses never surrender.

That aside, Wander Stars is one of — if not the best — games I’ve played this year.  It is equal parts hilarious, touching, exciting, and clever.  The interactions between characters and even the enemies is consistently moving or delightful, the combat is sharp and challenging, and the art style is top-notch.  It’s a must-play, but just be prepared for a bit of a grind and know that it might be tough to find exactly the right words to do the job.

Rating: 8.5 out of 10

Log Away: Build, Relax, Unwind - The Chill Game You Didn’t Know You Needed

Log Away: Build, Relax, Unwind - The Chill Game You Didn’t Know You Needed

I recently got the game Log Away for free. I claimed the key on Steam, installed it, but unfortunately when I tried to start it, the game crashed. Because of that I still have not actually played it. Still, I wanted to share what I found about the game directly from its Steam page and other sources. It sounds really charming.

What is Log Away?

Log Away is a cozy sandbox-style game where the main goal is not to race, fight, or compete, but to slow down and enjoy calm moments. You build a log cabin retreat somewhere peaceful. You get to decorate and furnish it however you like. You can travel to retreats in different settings, maybe a seaside cove, a meadow, or a mountain hideaway and experience changing seasons and weather.

The idea is simple: there is no grinding, no pressure, no timers or forced goals. You just live in your own little space in nature, surrounded by animals, weather changes, and calm.

What Makes It Feel Special

One of the coolest parts about Log Away is how it aims to evoke warm, cozy feelings. As you decorate your cabin, you can light lamps, arrange furniture, place plants - all those touches make your space feel more comfortable. The developers describe it as gradual comfort: as corners fill with light and charm, the retreat grows cozier with every thoughtful decision.

You also get to choose personal “interests.” The game gives you up to three from a list of ten. These interests influence what kind of stories, decorations, or keepsakes you discover. The keepsakes often come with softly narrated little memories or stories. They go into your “Keepsakes collection,” which is like a calm, gentle album you can revisit whenever you want. This makes the game feel personal and unique to you.

Sound and atmosphere also play a big role. The soundtrack, over 20 tracks composed by Chris Haugen, is acoustic and calming. Combined with gentle natural sound effects and changing weather or time of day, the game tries to immerse you in peace and relaxation.

You also get “Cozy Tools.” These let you take screenshots in Photo Mode, control weather, change the time of day, or even switch visual styles. So you can personalize every moment and create your ideal vibe.

Log Away: Build, Relax, Unwind - The Chill Game You Didn’t Know You Needed

What You Do in the Game

Here is how a typical session might go if I manage to fix the crashing issue and play:

  • You select a retreat, maybe a mountain hideaway, a quiet meadow, or seaside cove. Then the game naturally drifts through time of day and weather around you.

  • You pick up to three interests that shape content: items, stories, and what you discover later. But these are gentle nudges, not strict rules.

  • You decorate: place lamps, chairs, plants, adjust their position and orientation, and modify your space indoors or outdoors to reflect the mood you want.

  • As your cabin becomes more cozy, a “Cozy Heart” meter fills up. When it becomes full, travel bags appear, bringing new keepsakes to unpack and arrange. This isn’t pressure though, it’s just a neat way to reward you for creating a warm atmosphere.

  • You can revisit your Keepsakes collection anytime to browse what you found and listen to the short narrated backstories again.

  • You can return to your retreat anytime to tidy, tweak, or just enjoy the calm. Or you can start a new retreat if you want a fresh experience.

It is described as a love letter to yourself, a game about coming back to simple moments, small comforts, watching rain on a window, seeing a lamp glow at dusk. It is not about chasing meters or achieving high scores, but about quiet calm and personal comfort.

Launch Details and Christmas DLC Offer

The game is scheduled to release on December 4, 2025.

There is a special launch-week offer: if you buy the game by December 11, you get the Christmas DLC for free. That DLC wraps your cabin world in soft holiday warmth, festive decorations, a calm Christmas soundtrack, and seasonal touches like snow or holiday lights.

Normally the game price during launch week will be discounted (for example, as reported, around $8.99).

My Issue: Crashing on Install

Despite all this appeal, I personally could not play yet, because when I installed Log Away via Steam it kept crashing. I do not yet know why. Sometimes games crash because of corrupted files, or maybe because of graphic driver issues or compatibility problems.

If you plan to try it too, and you face crashes, one tip is to use Steam’s built-in “Verify integrity of game files” feature. That can sometimes fix missing or corrupted files that cause crashes.

Why I’m Still Excited

Even if I can’t yet play Log Away, I still feel drawn to it. It seems like a calm, cozy game, the kind of quiet refuge you open when you want to step away from fast-paced games or busy lifestyle. It offers creative freedom, gentle pace, and a chance to slow down.

I hope I can fix the crashing issue soon and finally step into that peaceful cabin world. Even if it takes a little time, I think it will be worth it.

If you like relaxing, thoughtful games instead of loud, stressful ones, Log Away seems like it might be a perfect fit. Maybe I’ll see you there, in a cozy cabin by the sea or a snow-covered mountain, building a retreat at your own pace.

OSRS – Preparing for The Gauntlet

13. Prosinec 2021 v 10:06

Before you dive into The Gauntlet, you should get ready for what’s to come.

If you need a strategy for completing the Gauntlet boss fight, then you’ll want to prepare yourself for battle. You might be parting ways with your OSRS gold to get to where you need to be, but before you go looking for OSRS gold for sale, there are other preparations that you can make. We’ll be checking out the recommended skill levels, getting to the boss, and what to expect from it during the fight itself.

Requirements

For starters, it isn’t just going to buy OSRS gold then speeding our way to the skill levels we need to be at. A requirement for taking on this challenge is having to finish Song of the Elves, which is the last quest in the Elf quest series.

As for your combat stats, you should make sure that the majority of them are at level 85 or higher. So get your attack, strength, defense, range, magic, and hitpoints up to at least 85. As for your prayer, it’s recommended that you have it up to at least 77. On the subject of prayer, it would be useful to you to have the Augury and Rigour prayers available. There’s also the Piety prayer that’s handy, which you need to have completed both King’s Ransom and Knight Waves Training Grounds. Rather than finding OSRS items for sale, you can get your cooking, fishing, mining, woodcutting, and farming skills high enough to gather resources really quickly.

Reaching The Gauntlet

We now need to get to the location of the fight. To start off with, use the eternal teleport crystal that will take you to Prifddinas. From here, go to the northwest to get to where the Gauntlet Portal is. Alternatively, you can travel to Prifddinas by charter ship, then head to the east and north to reach the portal that you need. There’s a Prifddinas teleport that will take you just south of the portal as well, or you can use a Spirit Tree to travel to the location.

The Boss Fight

In the fight itself, you’ll find that the boss is located in the middle of the room. This is divided into a 7×7 grid and is next to the room that you start in. The boss is known as the Crystalline Hunllef, which is a level 674 creature that has 600 hit points with it. You will need to beat this boss if you’re going to complete The Gauntlet in its entirety. After you do, you will find yourself in a location where you can claim your reward.

The Gauntlet Tactics

A popular method for completing this task is called the 5:1 technique. This is where you essentially get the boss’ protection prayer to switch so that you can make more of your time with DPS with the aid of tier 3 perfected crystal bow equipped. Use this for the first five attacks before switching to melee and magic. This will prevent the boss from using Protect from Missiles, meaning it is worth pursuing. To ensure that this works, you’ll need a bow and a staff with the attack styles all ready to use.

Another method alongside 5:1 is known as the redemption method. This will help to cut down any tick loss that you get from the boss battle courtesy of the Redemption prayer. To make sure that you can use this method, you need to use the relevant protection prayer to get the attack that is cast, then turn to Redemption prayer as the projectile is in flight. When it’s active, take a quick gulp of your potion then get your prayer ready. Keep in mind also that you’ll need up to eight paddlefish since you can’t rely on Redemption prayer in high-risk situations. When you do find yourself fishing for the raw paddlefish, take vials and get water from the fishing spots. Doing so will save you a few ticks towards the end, meaning that you can complete it faster.

It will be worth your time having enough OSRS GP to help prepare for this run. There are plenty of OSRS items for sale that can be used to good effect, especially when getting those levels up. If you are going to purchase gold, then there’s an element of precaution that you need to be taking.

It isn’t just a case of finding a source that can help you to get cheap OSRS gold. You will want to find the most trusted OSRS gold website as well. Keep an eye on their performance as a site seller, by taking a look at whether or not they offer customer service chat around the clock. This is usually a good indicator of legitimacy.

11. Říjen 2021 v 19:22

GTA 5’s online popularity is the cause why Microsoft and Sony have assured the fans to release a new version of it on the Xbox. It is one of the most anticipated releases of 2021. It is the only game millions of GTA fans crave due to its brilliant features, continuous updates, and dramatic role-playing scenes. GTA modded accounts provide different and interesting mods. This game is the combination of GTA all the previous titles and addressed fab complaints.

Beyond the fun and adventure, there are plenty of ways to make money in the game. To make GTA Money in the game, the players must buy vehicles, weapons, clothes, and other things. The cost and amount of all these things have increased substantially since its release. Here is the list of things you should buy to make millions in GTA 5 online. It will make you better at playing the game and add more fun to it.

Kosatka submarine (Cayo Perico heist)

The Cayo Perico heist performs a pivotal part in making money in GTA 5 online. So all the players who’re beginners are required to collect the $2.2 million to buy a Kosatka submarine.

At the casino, players need to rush into the Music Locker and meet Miguel Madrazo. Then you’re allowed to purchase the Kosatka submarine. Then, from the SecuroServ option in the interaction menu, start an organization as a VIP or CEO. By going into your Kosatka, start the heist from the panning board. Gather Intel on the island. Complete prep missions and finally do the theft. The time of completion from starting the Intel to finishing the heist is about 45 minutes to one hour after a few times trying it. The potential profit for this is $1.5 million per hour.

It is profitable to do it solo while there is both the option of solo and private lobby. You can go through different videos and written guides online that can assist you in focusing on factors that are required for success. Make sure to start your heist 48 minutes after the previous one to get a 10% bonus and set on hard mode.

Bunker (Gunrunning)

Stealing supplies and buying supplies can make you millions in GTA 5, but it is only possible with using a bunker. The cost of this bunker is $1.2 million. But this purchase can be the best one for some players. It is more valuable than owning an Orbital Cannon. Because it is passive money-making and has excellent Research unlockables, you can operate this bunker by using a laptop that is placed inside it. Then you can go underground by going to the Disruption Logistics, refill supplies and sell stolen weapons. It can earn you the potential profit of $80K per hour while doing other stuff. You can buy and steal supplies by using bunkers. Still, it is preferable to purchase supplies because it is more time-effective. It can increase your passive income while making the active income from other methods. For selling missions, you require friends in case there are multiple vehicles.

Arcade (Diamond Casino heist)

Purchasing an arcade in GTA 5 online is not complicated. Hence, it is quite profitable as it can make you earn millions in the game. You need to do a meeting with Lester Crest in Mirror Park. Rush to the Fore Closures Mazebank to purchase an arcade. It will give you access to the plan’s details to rob Diamond casino as a VIP, CEO, or MC president. It’s a time-consuming activity, but once you own all the arcade machinery, it offers the best rewards as you can generate $400k per hour. After buying the arcade, completing mandatory missions, there are also prep missions you need to complete with your friends. Always try to achieve the mission with a fewer number of people. While attempting to escape, it is advisable to go into nearby tunnels to evade cops more efficiently.

Hanger (Air Freight Cargo)

Hanger is unquestionably the best one to own in GTA 5 online. The purpose of buying it is to store aircraft and allow you to get rich by smuggling. Even if the plane is not robust and valuable, it is still the best place to keep them safe. The minimum cost is $1.2 million, and it can be as expensive as $3.0 million. The hangers are pretty costly. So you need to be wise while buying one for yourself because it is not advisable to spend all your money purchasing the hanger. The potential profit of buying it is $150K per hour. There are types of cargo you can source. Still, it is advisable to stick to only one kind of cargo and make it medical, chemicals, or narcotics supplies. By executing so, you can take a 35% reward for selling the 25 crates and 75% on selling all 50 containers.

Grotto Italia Rsx (Multiple heists)

Being the second fastest car, it has 135 miles per hour speed and excellent acceleration of 0 to 60 in two seconds. That is insanely amazing. You can get this car for $3.4 million. You can get this money on motorsports. It’s a bonus point that you can unlock its trading price by doing the moody man missions; you can get this for 2.6 million. It is a vehicle you should own, even if you only do drag races. It can beat the fastest cars like Ocelot Pariah in GTA 5 online. Owning high-speed vehicles allows the player to survive and outrun angry cops. It would be best if you were wise while choosing a car because these will help you when the stakes are too high.

The Bottom line

GTA 5 online has been the most popular game since its release. To make millions in GTA 5, you can purchase various kinds of vehicles, apartments, and warehouses, etc., and other things. All these entities will help you to escape from the cops and start up new businesses to make gta money.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO Review

Sparking! ZERO excels when it comes to character variety: with an expansive roster that spans across Dragon Ball lore. From beloved iconic heroes like Goku and Vegeta to lesser-known fan favorites such as Caulifla and Hit, players will have plenty of characters available from which to select their ideal playstyles and build characters within Sparking! ZERO. This lineup provides incredible depth.

Just landed a perfect Vanishing Attack after baiting out their counter – you know the drill in DRAGON BALL Sparking! ZERO, gotta read those movements.

But is merely having an extensive cast enough to make Sparking? ZERO innovative? Yes; its varied roster does add some freshness, particularly given that developers spent the time to give each fighter his/her distinct abilities and playstyle - an approach utilized successfully by Dragon Ball FighterZ as well in making sure no two characters felt identical even though they shared similarities in terms of abilities within the source material.

However, unlike Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's roster of fighters from various franchises spanning various age categories and gender roles, Sparking! ZERO feels more predictable. Though characters vary considerably when it comes to individual movesets and energy-blasting abilities, most still function within the familiar framework of Dragon Ball combat which predominantly relies on fast-paced melee attacks and energy-blasting moves; therefore the game doesn't venture too far outside its comfort zone.

That satisfying sound of a successful Dragon Rush connecting after a full power charge – been pulling that off since Budokai Tenkaichi, feels good in Sparking! ZERO too.

Sparking! ZERO could have taken an additional innovative leap by including mechanics that significantly alter how certain characters play. A game like Street Fighter VI brings something different for each character in terms of strategy; some focus on zone defense while others rely on grappling or rushdown techniques; however in Sparking! ZERO these differences tend more towards animation or aesthetics rather than playstyle innovation.

Multiplayer and Online Infrastructure: Staying Ahead of Competitors

Innovation in fighting games goes beyond characters or combat mechanics alone; it also requires taking into consideration its approach to multiplayer and online infrastructure. Since esports competition is increasing in importance, gaming titles must now take account of both how well they support a global player base as well as how effectively their gameplay itself meets that criterion - this area, in particular, was addressed in Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO but did not set new standards.

Caught 'em in a classic combo extender, mixing in a Super Dash for good measure – veterans know how to keep the pressure on in DRAGON BALL Sparking! ZERO.

Sparking! ZERO makes use of rollback netcode, an integral feature for smooth online matches in fast-paced fighting games such as Sparking! ZERO. This decision was smart; rollback netcode has quickly become an expectation in the fighting game community over recent years with Guilty Gear Strive and Street Fighter VI setting an excellent precedent in this respect. Furthermore, Sparking! ZERO provides players with various matchmaking filters that prioritize connection strength or regional proximity for improved match quality.

However, while its online infrastructure is secure and enjoyable to play on, its unique ideas fall flat when compared to rival games like Mortal Kombat 1 or Street Fighter VI which offer crossplay features, in-depth ranked systems, and training tools designed for all skill levels that stand out. Sparking! ZERO doesn't push its online modes as far compared to others on offer such as these titles do - which may prove disappointing given all they offer for casual gamers like myself who may prefer them anyway!

Presentation and Storytelling: Staying Comfortable

Dragon Ball games have always excelled when it comes to presentation and Sparking! ZERO follows this tradition perfectly. From character models to cinematic camera angles framing each fight sequence, Sparking!

Barely dodged that Ultimate Attack with a well-timed sidestep – years of Dragon Ball games teach you those instincts for Sparking! ZERO.

Sparking! ZERO may appear more conservative when compared to other modern fighting games that have made progress with narrative innovation, like Mortal Kombat with its cinematic story modes; though its story mode revisits iconic moments from anime series like Naruto or does offer one, unlike those found elsewhere. However, other than offering this mode, Sparking! ZERO doesn't explore storytelling like other modern fighters do.

Sparking! ZERO could have distinguished itself with a deeper exploration of "what-if" scenarios or alternate timelines that push its narrative in unexpected directions. Though there are glimpses of this happening here and there, most of its story mode feels largely like a retelling of familiar events compared to Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat which feature immersive narratives as part of their gameplay experience; Sparking! ZERO however remains true to its established formula without venturing beyond it.

Unleashing a massive Ki Blast barrage, covering the entire arena – sometimes you just gotta go full force, right? DRAGON BALL Sparking! ZERO understands.

Refinements to combat, an expanded roster, and improved online play all represent steps forward for this beloved series, making ZERO feel like an ode to everything that makes Dragon Ball exciting - even though its contribution won't push forward the genre itself! For fans of this franchise, however, it will likely feel more like an expression of love than anything groundbreaking about this particular title!

Conclusion: Innovation in Moderation

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO isn't one of the more groundbreaking fighting games out there, yet that doesn't detract from its value. Building upon years of Dragon Ball games that came before it, Sparking! ZERO provides an enjoyable, polished experience while staying true to anime spirit and staying true to other competing titles that push innovation with mechanics or groundbreaking storytelling, this one takes it easy and is enjoyable all-in.

That tense moment right before a Beam Clash, knowing one wrong move means getting Kamehameha'd to oblivion – the thrill of DRAGON BALL Sparking! ZERO never gets old.

Sparking! ZERO may not set the bar when it comes to radical innovation or genre-defining features, but for players looking for high-energy fighting games with visually stunning combat that captures the feel of Dragon Ball, it certainly delivers! Innovation doesn't necessarily entail reinventing everything: Sparking! ZERO strikes the perfect balance between honoring its roots and offering enough refinements that keep fans coming back for more!
