Fallout has seen a renewed spike in popularity following the release of Amazon's TV adaptation. However, despite this, Bethesda doesn't feel under pressure to rush a new game out to placate fans.
Speaking with YouTuber MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard acknowledged that the Fallout series is probably at its most popular, with the franchise boasting some record player numbers over recent months. Howard went on to state the studio gives "a lot of thought to franchise management" when questioned specifically about the future of Fallout as a whole.
"I spend a lot of time thinking about franchises I love... so, for us, it is sort of game planning out - number one, making sure Fallout is relevant in the world, and well, I think, clearly it is," the studio exec said.

Fallout 76 players will be able to turn themselves into Ghouls in early 2025, Bethesda announced during the Xbox Games Showcase this evening. It's a series first for the Fallout universe, and a move that's sure to make the millions of new players who have started playing the Fallout games in the wake of the Fallout TV show jump with irradiated joy.
You'll need to reach Level 50 before you can become your own version of Walter Goggins' gun-slinging Ghoul in Fallout 76, and there will be a specific questline to complete that kicks off the path toward your eventual transformation.
Bethesda's keeping the exact details of this quest close to its chest for now, but in a press briefing ahead of tonight's reveal, creative director Jonathan Rush told Eurogamer that turning into a Ghoul will have a significant impact on how you play the game going forward.

Původně šlo o národní park Shenandoah, takže lze očekávat vcelku zajímavé, možná i trochu malebné prostředí a svéráznou faunu.

Do této kategorie lze zařadit i Fallout 76.

If there’s one thing that every Fallout game has taught us, it’s that humans never learn their lesson. As if Earth needed to endure any more nuclear explosions, Fallout 76 allows players to launch nukes of their own and even encourages them to do so.
While obtaining pre-war nuclear launch codes was a privilege only a few in the world had, the post-apocalyptic wasteland hands out codes as if they were phone numbers. If you're looking to leave a radioactive scar upon Earth yourself, you're gonna need to know what Nuke Codes are currently active.
Currently active Fallout 76 Nuke Codes (May 20 - May 27):
Alpha:
443 08 932
Bravo:
318 14 079
Charlie:
573 67 175
Nuke Codes reset every Sunday at 5pm PT / 8pm ET / Monday 12AM UTC:
What are Nukes Codes used for in Fallout 76?
In Fallout 76, Nuke Codes are weekly codes for launching nukes across the Appalachian Wasteland. When the codes reset every Sunday night, any codes held within player inventories will be deleted. Each code consists of eight digits corresponding to one of the three nuclear launch sites within the game: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. Since each code can be used by any player while they are active, the community comes together to decipher the codes each week so that individuals don't have to.
Besides nuking other players’ camps for fun, nuclear launches play a vital role in the endgame of Fallout 76. After an area is nuked, some of the highest-level enemies, loot, and mutated flowers spawn within the newly created blast zone. Some bosses such as the Scorchbeast Queen only spawn when particular areas are nuked.
How to use Nuke Codes in Fallout 76
Every player is capable of taking advantage of the regions nuked by other players but to launch nukes of your own, there are some prerequisites.
Here’s what needs to be done in order to use Nuke Codes to launch nuclear missiles:
- Complete the Main Quest
- Become a member of the Enclave faction
- Complete the Enclave quest, I am Become Death (This acts as a tutorial for the launch process)
- Alternatively, having a team member launch a nuke will automatically complete the quest for you.
- Obtain a Nuclear Keycard - By using the tracking terminal located within the Whitespring Congressional Bunker, you can trigger a repeatable quest to track a cargobot convey which carries a Nuclear Keycard.
- Travel to any of the three nuclear launch sites: Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie
- Fight high-level enemy hordes within the launch site. (Prepare for level 50+ robots)
- Input the weekly Nuke Codes found at the top of this page that correspond to the nuclear launch site you’re at. (Ex. the Alpha code only works for Launch Site Alpha.)
- Select your target and launch your nuclear missile
Where are the nuclear launch sites in Fallout 76?
There are three nuclear launch sites in Fallout 76, each located within the Savage Divide region. There aren't many differences between them, but if a player has recently used a site to launch a nuke, the interior will be on lockdown (effectively a cooldown state).
Where to find Launch Site Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie
Launch Site Alpha
Site Alpha is located North of West Tek Research Center.
Launch Site Bravo
Site Bravo is found directly South of the Palace of the Winding Path, or Northeast of the Grafton Dam.
Launch Site Charlie
Site Charlie is Southwest of Foundation within a warehouse facility.

The official Fortnite Twitter account has teased an upcoming Fallout collaboration. By most accounts, more Fallout is a good thing, but for Fallout 76 players, it's a bittersweet reminder of the battle royale mode their game lost years ago.
Fortnite has seen crossover events with a massive roster of huge franchises, including heavy-hitters like Star Wars and Stranger Things. Now, thanks in part, I'm sure, to the success of Amazon's Fallout TV Show, the game is getting a Fallout crossover that will undoubtedly see new mechanics based on the Fallout universe introduced to Fortnite for a few weeks alongside skins players must earn during that season if they want to keep them forever.
Fallout in Fortnite isn't what Fallout 76 players want
Fallout skins in Fortnite aren't what all Fallout fans want, though. You see, Fallout 76 had a battle royale mode once called Nuclear Winter. When it was initially released, I remember it feeling fairly out of place because the premise was pretty weak, but the gameplay, rewards, and lore were engrossing.
At the time of writing, others who remember and played the game mode, and even those who jumped into the game after it was closed and have only seen screenshots or videos of it, are lightly lamenting its loss and wondering if there's any space for it to return.
Creator Frederick on Twitter points out the fun and flaws of Fallout 76's Nuclear Winter. "It was a weird and unique experiment that re-invented the way you thought about the game's systems and world. It was also bad, lol."
I can't deny that this game mode was bad, but not for the reasons you might think. As it does for most franchises, Battle Royale works for Fallout, but Nuclear Winter didn't work for Fallout 76 because it was implemented very quickly. It felt very much like Bethesda saw Fortnite's success, decided it wanted a piece of it, and threw out a battle royale mode for its online Fallout game.
Fallout 76 uses card-based Perks that you unlock more of as you level up your character. Nuclear Winter broke this system and contained many weapons that broke it even further. Mercifully, weapons and Perks from the game mode became locked to it, so you couldn't level up a character in the battle royale mode and then dominate public survival servers.
The rewards I loved the most were Holotapes. It's difficult to know how many of these there were, but I believe there were dozens scattered around the Vault that acted as the lobby for the 52-player game mode. As you leveled up, you could access more rooms and find more Holotapes, telling the story of a supercomputer called ZAX.
The computer was left in charge of Vault 51 to create fictional scenarios and test humanity's tribalism to its limits. By the end of the experiment, it had only succeeded in forcing Vault Dwellers to split and war with each other. Learning about this in Fallout 76 was fascinating and a real treat while Nuclear Winter was live.
Perhaps because of this division of progression, Nuclear Winter's player base dwindled fairly quickly until Bethesda deemed it necessary to shut the game mode down entirely in 2021. Some players in Fallout 76 still have rewards from the game mode on their save files today as a memory of what was a brief and tumultuous time for the game.

Every insect event in Fallout 76
If you’ve ever wanted to roleplay a post-apocalyptic exterminator, the various insect events in Fallout 76 can make your dreams (or nightmares) come true. Events are some of the best sources for a high volume of enemies to put your builds to the test. So either grab a friend or a big gun, lest you fall to a swarm of insects in these events:
Event | Insects |
Campfire Tales | Ants, Bee Swarms, Bloatflies, Bloodbugs, Radroaches, Radscorpions, Stingwings, Ticks |
Project Paradise | Ants, Bloatflies, Bloodbugs, Cave Crickets, Fireflies, Fog Crawlers, Honeybeasts, Radroaches, Stingwings, Ticks |
Spin the Wheel | Ants, Bee Swarms, Fog Crawlers, Honeybeasts |
Tea Time | Ants, Bloodbugs, Ticks |
Fasnacht Day (Seasonal event) | Honeybeasts |
Irrational Fear | Bee Swarms, Honeybeasts |
Project Beanstalk | Stingwings |
Moonshine Jamboree | Fog Crawlers |
Primal Cuts | Fog Crawlers, Honeybeasts |
The Mothman Equinox | Mothmen |
Path to Enlightenment | Mothmen |
While Project Paradise has many rare drops and a variety of insect enemies, it requires coordination between many players to maximize the rewards. However, the other events on the list are much more manageable for solo players or small groups.
List of all insects in Fallout 76
Fallout 76 is teeming with creepy crawlies, from the poor Radroaches that introduce us to combat in every Fallout game to the menacing Fog Crawlers that don’t take kindly to shrimp-fried rice jokes. Here is the complete list of insects you can encounter in Fallout 76:
- Ants
- Bee Swarms
- Bloatflies
- Bloodbugs
- Cave Crickets
- Fireflies
- Fog Crawlers
- Honeybeasts
- Mothmen
- Radroaches
- Radscorpions
- Stingwings
- Ticks
If you’ve ever walked the path of vengeance in Fallout: New Vegas, you’ll be pleased to hear that the Cazadores haven’t returned in Fallout 76. That isn’t to say that the insects in West Virginia are to be underestimated. Appalachia hosts a wide variety of insects that embody the spirit of Muhammad Ali. Some of them float like butterflies, and all of them sting like bees.

As reported by Variety, Fallout's big 65m-strong success makes it the second most-watched show on Amazon, only losing out to 2022's The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power - but as the publication notes, Amazon hasn't qualified what it considers a viewer in its figures, so it's unclear how much of the series any of those counted have actually watched.
Even so, it's clearly drawn the crowds, with Amazon adding the live-action Fallout adaptation is its most-watched show ever in the 18-34 age group - not bad considering the youngest of those would have been two when Bethesda's Fallout 3 came out.

Recently, I've noticed a massive uptick in views on Base Building video guides that I produced way back when both Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 released, so in this little post I've pulled all three of my Fallout base building guides together so you can make the most of out what can be a fairly complex and confusing portion of the game.
The headline video above (or the YouTube link at the bottom of this article if you can't see the top one) is a great place to start if you are a newcomer to Fallout 4. This beginner's guide covers everything you need to know in order to make the process of creating a settlement as easy as possible. These include tips and explainers on things like clearing space for your buildings and gathering components through to simple construction methods and adding power sources to your creations. These tips should mean that you won't waste(land) a bunch of hours clipping together a bunch of clumsy structures that need to be torn down once you finally get to grips with the mechanics.

K sériím Fallout a The Elder Scrolls si v Bethesda Game Studios loni pořídili ještě Starfield.
Kdy to vydáme?“ uvedl Howard.

V prvním týmu řeší dodatečnou podporu pro Starfield a chystají obrovské The Elder Scrolls VI, zatímco v Obsidianu oficiálně kutí Avowed (vyjde letos) a The Outer Worlds 2.

On yesterday's VR Corner for instance, I installed a hefty mod list for Fallout 4 VR in order to try and create the most immersive experience possible. Unfortunately however, I'm basically computer illiterate and things didn't exactly go according to plan...
For today's live stream though, I've decided to revisit Fallout 76, a game that I bounced off of quite hard back when it first released. The answer to the question that I've posed in the headline to this video post really does depend on personal opinion but (spoilers for the stream) I've actually been really enjoying my return to Appalachia and have probably put about 20 hours into Bethesda's MMO over the past week. Playing it solo as a kind of 'Fallout 4.5' experience has really been scratching that itch for me so it might be that now is the perfect time for you to go back to it too!

As noted in SteamDB, the 2018 action RPG – which debuted on Steam in 2020 – has hit 66,045 simultaneous players on Steam, the most concurrent users the game has ever had.
Before this weekend – and, arguably, before the arrival of Amazon's hit Fallout TV show – the RPG had boasted a concurrent record of around 40,000 players, and that doesn't even account for the thousands of players who have likely jumped on on Xbox, as the Fallout series is available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers for no extra cost.

Sever GamesIndustry.biz přinesl zajímavosti o popularitě her. Počítají se digitální i fyzické prodeje, což hře zajistilo první místo před Helldivers 2, EA Sports FC 24 a Grand Theft Auto V.

Fallout TV show holding "iconic" stuff back for Season 2, including deathclaws
Amazon's Fallout TV show has - a few minor controversies aside - been a hit with fans since arriving last week; but while it's covered plenty of the video games' post-apocalyptic basics across its eight episodes - from Pip-Boys and Power Armour to Vaults and Vault-Tec - not everything's made the cut. And its creators have now explained they deliberately held some "iconic" stuff back, including deathclaws, to better do them justice in a potential Season 2.
"We wanted to get Deathclaws, but we didn't want to just throw it away," co-showrunner Graham Wagner told the The Wrap. "It's such a monumental piece [of the Fallout mythology]." That's despite the team's initial instinct to, as co-showrunner Geneve Robertson-Dworet put it, take a "kitchen sink approach" to incorporating the games' most recognisable elements for TV.
"There's all the greatest hit things...that people who aren't even gamers know about Fallout," she explained, "like Nuka, deathclaws, whatever. There are these things that are just so prevalent and we were tempted to do all of them in Season 1. But on the other hand, we didn't want...the show to seem like it was written by people who just spent 10 seconds reading the Wikipedia page for Fallout...So it was important to us to also bring deeper cuts into Season 1".

Fallout TV series' in-show phone number might be teasing news in "33 weeks"
Fallout, you might have noticed, is having a bit of moment thanks to Amazon's acclaimed new live-action TV series; and one of its many easter eggs - an on-screen phone number that also happens to work if you dial it in the real world - has fans a-chatter as they ponder the significance of a curious message and a specific timeframe relayed within. The phone number in question - 213-25-VAULT - makes an appearance during a Vault-themed infomercial, hosted by Walter Goggins' Cooper Howard, during the Fallout TV show's sixth episode. As Goggins does his thing, an on-screen message encourages viewers to "Call now!", and attentive fans have, as you might imagine, now done precisely that.
Ringing the number (thanks IGN) greets callers with the wails and cries of a man seemingly mid-torture before the line goes dead. More noteworthy, however, is the discovery that texting the number results in an entirely different response. "Thank you for texting Vault-Tec," the reply reads. "The next available appointment is 33 weeks from now, please stand by!". Additionally, there's an option to receive follow-up marketing material, eliciting the reply, "Congratulations! We may or may not be in touch if an appointment becomes available".

Fallout 76 has a hellish new area and Bethesda want you to nuke it
Timed perfectly off the back of the Fallout TV show's success, Fallout 76 players can start testing out Skyline Valley, a new woodland area in the game's upcoming major update. There's a new public event to try, as well as combat readjustments that'll be drip fed over the course of the test period. Anyone who owns the game on Steam can give these things a go, which is a bonus, too. I think I own it? I genuinely can't remember. Anyway, yes, maybe I'll hop in and see how things have changed since

The Electronic Wireless Show podcast S3 Episode 15: everyone loves Fallout and the Fallout TV show
Here at the Electronic Wireless Show podcast we're nothing if not ready to jump on a bandwagon, and the hottest wagon in town right now is the Fallout TV show. We've watched varying amounts of Amazon's new adaptation of Bethesda's favourite post-apocalyptic RPG baby, so there are some mild (but not total) spoilers within, as we talk about the show, the show biffing the leaving-the-vault-moment, the best things about the games, the Righteous Gemstones, and how good Walton Goggins is just, like,

Text Vault-Tec's number from the Fallout TV show to get a potential teaser for a November announcement
I sort of reject that the Fallout TV show has Easter eggs hidden in it because it, as a whole, is the equivalent of one of those fancy Hotel Chocolat ostrich-sized patisserie collection bastards that cost 40 quid. However. Eagle-eyed viewers of the Fallout show noted that episode 6 gives you a number for Valt-Tec that you can actually get in touch with - 213-25-VAULT (or, 213-258-2858). Charges apply, as well as international codes if you're outside the US, which makes it 001-213-258-2858. If

If you text the number you get a reply from Vault-Tec saying "The next available appointment is 33 weeks from now, please stand by!" (handily captured by X user FanaticalGuy cos my response hasn't come through yet). And then the significantly less immersive "Reply Y to get recurring marketing and other texts from FallOut", which is quite funny. There is speculation that this is just a reference to Vault 33, the vault where main character Lucy was born and raised. On the other hand, 33 weeks from now is November, the month when both Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 came out.

The Fallout TV show gave the Fallout games a huge player bump, as everyone remembers they like Fallout
Crawl out through the fallout, baby! I've watched two episodes of Amazon's recently released Fallout TV show, a series for and about Walton Goggins' rizz (a thing the kids say). I've been on the Goggins hype train for over a decade at this point, and it's great that - oh sorry, I'm being told that the Fallout TV show is in fact about Bethesda's post-nukepocalypse RPG series of video games, and as such has given a massive player bump to said video games on Steam. Posted on Xitter by SteamDB yesterday (HT to our pals at Eurogamer), it appears Fallout has more than doubled its concurrent players on Steam since the show dumped all its episodes last week.

Fallout TV series' latest trailer reveals a familiar Bethesda post-apocalypse
Four years after a live-action Fallout TV adaptation was officially announced, the show is almost upon us. And ahead of its Amazon Video debut on 12th April - and following years of official images, unofficial behind-the-scenes shots, and even a sizeable teaser - we've got our best look yet at the adaptation, courtesy of a new three-minute series trailer.
Going by the trailer below, the adaptation makes a positive first impression, convicingly capturing the Fallout games' ever-shifting tone - blending gee-whizz '50s Americana with grubby post-apocalyptic mayhem as Ella Purnell's Vault Dweller protagonist Jean leaves her lifelong underground home to venture out into the Los Angeles Wasteland.
Speaking during a press panel ahead of today's trailer reveal, co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet explained that while the adaptation is set in the world of Fallout, it's also a "new story that comes after the events we've seen" in the games. "The show is built on 25 years of creativity and thinking and building," co-showrunner Graham Wagner added, "and we sort of thought the best thing to do is to continue that versus retread it. Because that's sort of what has worked with Fallout over the years. It's traded hands... it's a living thing... and we felt like we ought to take a swing at trying to build a new piece on top of all of that."
