Just one week after Valorant entered open beta testing on PS5, the game leaves beta testing behind. Version 1.0 has been released on the PlayStation Store and the full game is now available in the US, Canada, Europe, Brazil, and Japan. In typical Riot Games style, there was no announcement before Valorant’s full release, but the studio has now explained how the team will be approaching the game’s updates.
The Valorant post-launch update plan
Riot Games currently updaters Valorant every two weeks on all platforms. These patches sort out issues with game balance, fix bugs, or add QoL improvements. In addition to these, larger updates are released “a few times per year” that change an Agent’s entire kit, either nerfing their abilities or increasing their strength. Larger updates are only released at a time “that won’t affect active Pro play schedules.” Both of these types of updates look set to continue into the future.
One thing the developer did make clear was that “parity between PC and console isn’t necessarily guaranteed.” This is because PC and console platforms have unique needs. Different input methods mean players come up with different playstyles. Some agents are also better on one platform than they are on the other. These reasons are likely part of why Xbox and PS5 players can compete with each other but they cannot compete against PC players.
Valorant can now be downloaded from the PlayStation Store for free. Any progress players had made during the open beta period will be transferred to the full game. There’s also the opportunity to play on PC too as players keep their progress between all platforms with the exception of ranking.
Several Valorant Points packages are also available from the PlayStation Store. The premium currency can be used to purchase cosmetics, Radionite Points, and the premium tier of the Battle Pass.

Valorant Console Out Now – and We’re Just Getting Started
Summary
- Valorant is live now and free-to-play for everyone on Xbox Series X|S.
- Regular balance patches are essential to creating a highly competitive landscape – especially for tactical shooters.
- Valorant on Console receives the same regular balance updates that PC players experience – patches every two weeks.
Valorant is now live on Xbox Series X|S– with some serious benefits for Game Pass members. So grab four of your friends and hop into our 5v5 tactical shooter where you’ll need creative strategy, effective communication, and clutch aim to climb up the ranks.
But launch is only the beginning for Valorant on console – here’s how we’ll be supporting the game going forward.
Our Philosophy
Riot Games was founded with the idea that competition should be enjoyable at any level – whether it’s your first Valorant Competitive game after hitting level 20 or you’re grinding to Radiant, competing in our games should feel fair. Competitive integrity is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s one element that sets Valorant apart from other shooters on console.
One thing we’ve learned after 4+ years of Valorant on PC is that y’all are pretty cracked. The Valorant playerbase constantly innovates around the meta and comes up with new strats that surprise even us. Players consistently find new ability synergy between Agents, new line-ups, new flank watches, new ways to use a weapon, better smoke placements – you get the picture. Honestly, we love to see it. And now we’re so excited to welcome the console community into that space and see what you’ll come up with next.
Because of the ever-changing landscape, we’re constantly monitoring how our maps, Agents, weapons, and abilities are performing across different skill levels.
Sometimes an Agent might skew too powerful as players learn and master their abilities. Or maybe a map becomes one-sided as teams figure out how to optimize Agent utility. Or maybe a certain weapon becomes too strong as players hone their aim and learn how to better synergize with Agent abilities.
Over time, seemingly small imbalances can make a game start to feel stale and predictable. And that’s just not Valorant.
What That Means for Players
So, what does all this mean for the game long term? For our devs, it means their work is never done. For our players who aren’t familiar, it means live service and live balance.
We put out patches every two weeks across all platforms to address things like game balance, bug fixes, or QoL improvements. And a few times per year, we release larger updates to an Agent’s entire kit when there’s an opportunity to bolster or tamp down their strength. These kinds of updates typically aren’t needed very often and will only be implemented at a time that won’t affect active Pro play schedules.
So far, since Limited Beta started on console two months ago, Valorant has already seen four patch updates. We’re updating the game frequently, but paying attention to the unique needs of each platform. Balance parity between PC and console isn’t necessarily guaranteed.
Why? While the level of competition and skill-expression is the same for Valorant on PC and console, the game needs to be balanced independently between platforms. With different input methods (controller vs. mouse and keyboard) comes different playstyles. Some Agents shine on console but aren’t as effective on PC and vice versa. So our game developers have to test each extensively and adjust only when it makes sense.
Beyond game balance, Valorant features a rotating map pool for Competitive queue to ensure players get more variety while ranking up, and even occasionally to make changes to a map when it’s out of the competitive rotation.
Ultimately, it’s up to you – our passionate community – to let us know how we’re doing and show us how you’d level up the game. We’re so grateful to those of you who helped us prepare for this day by participating in our Limited and Open Beta periods, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll do next. So hop on, queue up, and frag out.

Is Valorant crossplay compatible between PC and PS5?
Unfortunately, Valorant does not support crossplay between PC and PS5, nor does PC have that option with Xbox consoles. Due to the nature of the game, PC players do have a massive advantage over console players. This isn’t a game like Overwatch or recent Call of Duty games where the TTK (Time to Kill) is high enough so that those playing on a controller can have a fair gunfight.
The good news is that if you have a friend who plays on PC and you wish to play with them, cross-progression is an option. Whether you want to bring your console account to PC or they bring their PC account to an Xbox Series X/S or PS5, it’s possible.
Is Valorant crossplay between PS5 and Xbox?
Luckily, PS5 and Xbox players can match up and squad up together on Valorant. Since players on both consoles are on the same playing field, there are no advantages or disadvantages over the other.
Just make sure you actually have the feature enabled so you can broaden your search pool when matchmaking.
How to enable crossplay on Valorant (PS5 and Xbox only)
By default, you should have crossplay enabled on Valorant if you’re playing the open beta on PS5 or Xbox. However, just to double-check that it’s on, press your menu or options button on your controller to bring up the Options menu.
From here, select Settings. In the General tab, find the Privacy section and see that “Allow Crossplay” is set to on. You can also set other important options like limiting friend requests and hiding names.
So, unfortunately, you can’t match or link with PC players if you’re on PS5 or Xbox, but you can with other console players.

Four years after it first debuted, Valorant still ranks among the most-played FPS games despite being PC-exclusive. Speculation about Valorant's console release has been rife, and now that it's officially confirmed, excitement is reaching a fever pitch.
The game is now fully playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S through the Console Beta that began on June 14, 2024. It also means that the game is still in the works, not fully ready for release yet.
What is the Valorant Console Ranked Update?
According to Valorant's 8.11 patch notes, Ranked mode is slated to debut on the game's console port in Episode 9 Act 1, aka patch 9.0.
Options in the console beta include Unrated, Swift Play, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Custom Games, whereas competitive mode for Valorant on consoles is set to launch with patch 9.0.
As with the ranked mode we were accustomed to on PC, this mode also allows players to partake in ranked matches, where they compete to climb through various ranks based on their performance.
Players are matched against others of similar skill levels to ensure everyone has a fair shot. The goal is to rack up rank points by winning and performing well, gunning to climb to higher ranks, and flexing their skills on a more competitive platform. Not only that but starting from patch 9.0, each new update will also throw another map into the pool.
When Will Ranked Mode be Available on Valorant for Console?
Although there's no word from Riot Games on when the Console Beta might wrap up, Valorant's console beta will roll out Ranked mode on June 25, 2024. This will happen hours after the current battle pass ends.
Before the update, servers may be temporarily unavailable for a maintenance period lasting 4 hours, until the update is ready for download. This downtime is expected to ensure the update goes off without a hitch, and it's worth noting that, the maintenance schedule changes based on where you're located.
The community had its fingers crossed ever since the ranked mode announcement, but crossplay between console and PC won't be possible for now.
This was predictable since Riot Games has consistently balanced the competitive aspects of the game, allowing players to compete on equal footing. But that doesn't mean there isn't a small chance the feature gets added in the future.

The Best Valorant Console Beta Controller Settings
Valorant console beta has been released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and many players, especially the ones new to FPS games on consoles, want to know what are the best controller settings.
To gain an advantage over your adversaries, you need to familiarize yourself with the optimal controller settings for various roles, and we are here to assist you with that.
Best PS5 and Xbox Controller Settings for Valorant Console Beta
Valorant on consoles offers a range of presets including Traditional, Fighter, Bumper Jumper, and others. These presets are tailored to suit the specific roles you may take on, whether it be Duelists, Controllers, Sentinels, and beyond.
Below, you will discover the optimal controller configurations for both the PS5 and Xbox consoles.
Setting | PS5 controller button | Xbox controller button |
---|---|---|
Focus/Sniper Scope (Hold) | L2 | LT |
Fire | R2 | RT |
Ability 1 | L1 | LB |
Ability 2 | R1 | RB |
Ability 3 | R3 | RS |
Ultimate | L1 + R1 | LB + RB |
ADS | L2 + R3 | LT + RS |
Equip Melee | L3 | LS |
Comm Wheel/Ping | D-Pad Up | D-Pad Up |
Drop Equipped Item | D-Pad Left | D-Pad Left |
Plant/Defuse/Equip Spike | D-Pad Down | D-Pad Down |
Inspect/Open Spray Wheel (Hold) | D-Pad Right | D-Pad Right |
Equip Secondary | Triangle button | Y button |
Crouch (Toggle) | Circle button | B button |
Jump | X button | A button |
Reload/Activate/Use | Square button | X button |
The controllers in these two setups adhere to the Traditional preset layout, and they can be personalized to suit your preferences.
Unlike PCs, Valorant on consoles does not offer the traditional hip-firing feature, instead, it introduces a new shooting mode called 'Focus'.
The Focus mode replicates hip-fire mechanics but with lower sensitivity, and this is where the Traditional preset truly shines.
Best Alternative Controller Settings for Valorant Console Beta
Although the Traditional layout offers optimal settings for a controller, you may want to experiment with these alternative settings for the Valorant console beta if the default configuration is not suitable for you.
Bumper Shooter
The Bumper Shooter controller configuration is perfect for those who enjoy utilizing snipers in Valorant. Whether you are playing as Jett with an Operator or as an Initiator with an Outlaw during an eco round, this controller setup will cater to your style of play.
Fighter
Select the Fighter controller configuration if you are a dedicated Duelist in Valorant. Utilizing the RB or R1 buttons for jumping enables seamless access to elevated platforms, while the nearby RT or R2 buttons facilitate the swift elimination of adversaries.
Employing the LB or L1 buttons for crouching further aids in managing recoil for Duelists, as their role demands spontaneity and agility unlike that of other Agents.
Tactician
If you prefer playing as a Controller or Sentinel, opt for the Tactician controller layout. By assigning Focus or Sniper Scope to the L1 or LB buttons, you'll have ample space to play from a distance and provide support to your team.
Unlike other layouts, the R1 or RB buttons are used to fire weapons, which is particularly useful when using snipers.
With these controller settings, you can enhance your gameplay and perform exceptionally well across all the maps available during the Valorant console beta.
We hope this article was helpful and answered all the questions you had about the Valorant for console controls.

Valorant New Map Abyss Revealed in Recent Teaser
As Masters Shanghai reaches its last stretch, players are waiting with bated breath not only to see which team will emerge victorious, but also to welcome the arrival of a brand-new map – Abyss, the eleventh map to join Valorant.
Aptly named, from the teasers released by Valorant, it appears that the map will be set deep underground. With the last addition being Sunset in August of last year, it has been a while since players had the chance to explore new terrain. Many are excited to see what Abyss has in store!
Newest Teaser Reveals Valorant’s New Map Abyss
After months of speculation, a new teaser has given us our first glimpse of Valorant's upcoming map, which appears to feature an underground multi-storied building, hinting at a focus on vertical gameplay.
The teaser was also accompanied by a voice line from the Scottish troublemaker Clove, the latest addition to the roster:
“What did I tell ye? One elder grotto Hourglass base courtesy of the journal—and those ‘numpties’ loose lips. Oh and eh, I suppose Cypher helped a wee bit, too.” states Clove, the Scottish troublemaker and latest agent to join the fray.
Clove's message sheds light on the map's connection to the Scions of Hourglass, a mysterious organization hinted at in past cinematics and player cards. Omen used to work for them before the incident with Viper, and more recently, Iso worked for them before he defected. Voice lines and emails from various agents suggest this new map might be located within a secret cavern, possibly part of a network on a cold, remote island chain.
Eagle-eyed players also discovered a clue in an Episode 8 Act 2 player card titled "Underneath it all." The image showcases the ruins of a massive building illuminated by a hole above, alongside a figure (Sage) using a zipline between cliffs. This further supports speculation about a strong focus on verticality in the new map.
With each Valorant map boasting a unique theme, an underground setting like Abyss would be a welcome addition, offering fresh strategic challenges. However, it's important to note that all of the above is based on available information. Stay tuned as we eagerly await further reveals from Riot Games to confirm the details of this exciting new map!
Valorant New Map Expected Release Date
Following past trends, the highly anticipated new map, Abyss, is likely to arrive on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.
For an official reveal, be sure to tune in to the official Valorant Esports website on June 9, 2024 for a special showmatch featuring Team CN vs. Team INTL. This match will be the first chance to see Abyss in action, kicking off at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM BST, right before the Grand Finals.

Valorant is a 5v5 character-based tactical FPS, where precise gunplay meets unique Agent abilities. Valorant is more than just guns and bullets… I mean don’t get us wrong, you can definitely do some crazy outplays with your guns (five bullets, five enemies, five one-taps… no problem), but Valorant is so much more than that. In every game of Valorant you’ll get to choose an Agent from our continually growing, unapologetically global roster, and each Agent is armed with unique abilities.
Creativity meets clutch
Every Agent has a different kit that allows you to create opportunities for your gunplay to shine. No two Agents will play alike, just like no two montages will look the same in Valorant. When we initially began thinking about bringing Valorant to PS5, it was never about the technical aspects of building a new game on new platforms—it was about preserving the feeling of what it’s like to play Valorant. Once you start playing Valorant and get more familiar with the gameplay, there’s a special moment that will just click. Moments where you stand alone and outnumbered, but you find a way to overcome the odds and win the round while your teammates watch in silence—before erupting into cheers. These are the moments that make Valorant special, where creativity meets clutch. And we’re so happy that we can bring that experience to PS5 and welcome more players to our community.
The playing fields
In addition to unique Agents, abilities, and gunplay, Valorant also features an array of maps. Each one is a playground for you to showcase your creative thinking. There’s also different modes for you to try out, whether you want to play a quick match or climb the ranks, there’s something for everyone. Currently, for competitive queue, we have a map pool that changes every few months. But all of our existing maps are available in non-competitive modes. All the content that is currently available on Valorant PC, will be available on PS5, and whenever we ship a patch, we’ll be shipping it for everyone at the same time. So when a new map or Agent launches, everyone who plays Valorant will get it at the same time.
For the Beta
While we want to have everyone playing the same Valorant, we also know that with all the different modes, maps, Agents, and guns, there’s a lot to learn. So we’ll be releasing the following modes and maps during our Limited Beta to catch everyone up to speed.
Unrated, Swiftplay, Deathmatch:
- June 14: Ascent, Bind, Haven, Abyss
- June 25: Patch 9.00, Sunset
- July 9: Lotus
- July 23: Icebox
Team Deathmatch
- All TDM maps
Customs
- All maps
How to sign up
Valorant is all about how you want to play. From the Agents you pick, the gun you default to (we prefer the Vandal), to how you customize your collection. We’re excited to welcome you into our community, can’t wait to see all your creative clips, and are so ready to put Valorant in your hands.
Our Limited Beta will begin on June 14 in the following regions: USA, Canada, parts of Europe, and Japan. Throughout our Limited and Open Beta more regions will be made available and we’ll continue to update availability throughout each phase. You can sign up to join the Limited Beta now at beta.playvalorant.com. If your region isn’t listed, we encourage you to still sign up to show your interest, as we’ll be adding new regions over the course of our Beta.
That’s all from us for now. We can’t wait to see you in-game on June 14!

The Valorant 8.10 patch notes have arrived, and amidst the flurry of changes introduced with the arrival of Episode 8 Act 3, this patch focuses on new players, streamlining the Basic Training Event for a smoother transition into the Ranked scene.
Valorant’s training has long been considered bare-bones, and the revamped Basic Training Event promises to be a great onboarding initiative. It functions similarly to other in-game events, offering clear goals and milestones to guide new players. Patch 8.10 also includes welcome bug fixes for Cypher's Spycam and Clove's Pick-Me-Up
Valorant 8.10 Patch Notes
Progression Updates
Basic Training Event
- We are releasing an update to our Welcome Contract for new players! The new structure includes clearer missions and milestones to help you navigate the NewPlayer Experience with a bit more guidance before your Ranked climb.
- The Basic Training Event will appear similar to other Events, allowing you to view your progress, understand your goals at each milestone, and complete them to earn rewards to jumpstart your VALORANT experience.
- If you have previously completed the Welcome Contract, you will not see theBasicTraining Event (don’t worry, you have already earned all the same rewards!).
- If you are partially complete with the Welcome Contract, your previously earned rewards will be reflected in the Basic Training Event when it comes online, and you will be able to proceed through Basic Training, earning XP toward your Battlepass.
Bug Fixes
Agent
- Fixed an issue where shots fired immediately after exiting Cypher’s Spycam (E)would bypass the weapon’s raise animation and not deal damage. The weapon raise animation is now played for its full duration.
- Fixed issues where the timer for Clove’s Pick-Me-Up (C) could be restarted which would allow Clove to have more time than intended to activate the ability.
That’s everything you need to know about Valorant’s Patch 8.10!
While this patch is light on gameplay changes, the latest dev update confirms that Patch 8.11 will significantly shift the meta. Alongside map rotation changes (Haven's coming back!), the team is preparing major balance adjustments. Following the sweeping Controller updates earlier in the Act, the focus now shifts to Duelists, mainly due to a concerning lack of pick variety. Raze's over-dominance will be addressed with nerfs to her satchel mobility. Iso (Shield Paradigm), Neon (Slide), and Reyna may receive buffs.

"Basically, fast-paced interesting ADHD gameplay. Combination of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, Orcs Must Die."
That's how notable Valve leaker "Gabe Follower" describes Deadlock, a Valve game that is seemingly in playtesting at the moment, for which a few screenshots have leaked out.
The game has been known as "Neon Prime" and "Citadel" at prior points. It's a "Competitive third-person hero-based shooter," with six-on-six battles across a map with four "lanes." That allows for some of the "Tower defense mechanics" mentioned by Gabe Follower, along with "fast travel using floating rails, similar to Bioshock Infinite." The maps reference a "modern steampunk European city (little bit like Half-Life)," after "bad feedback" about a sci-fi theme pushed the development team toward fantasy.

Valorant 8.09 Patch Preview: Release Date Prediction, Crosshair Fix, and More
Valorant's next update, Patch 8.09, is on the horizon, and unlike the major agent balance adjustments that kicked off Episode 8 Act 3, players can expect a smaller patch this time around, focusing on bug fixes and minor adjustments.
Riot Games sent shockwaves with Episode 8 Act 3's agent nerfs, shaking up the long-reigning Viper and Cypher meta. Now, let's dive into what we know about Patch 8.09, the second update for the final act of Episode 8!
Valorant Patch 8.09 Expected Release Date
While Riot Games hasn't officially revealed the release date for Patch 8.09, based on Valorant's typical two-week patch cycle, we expect it to launch around Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Disappearing Crosshair Profiles Fix in Patch 8.09
Riot Games has recently acknowledged the missing crosshair profiles issue and assured players that Patch 8.09 will bring a permanent fix. Unfortunately, previously deleted crosshairs won't be restored.
In the meantime, you can save your current crosshair layout using the "Expert Profile Code" option in the Crosshairs menu. If your crosshair disappears, simply paste the saved code to bring back your preferred configuration!
Valorant 8.09 Potential Balance Changes
While official details are under wraps, we can expect some agent balance tweaks in Patch 8.09. Harbor, currently the least-picked agent with the lowest win rate (4.12% pick rate, 45.9% win rate), is a prime candidate for buffs! The recent Viper nerfs in Patch 8.08 might indirectly benefit Harbor by reducing competition, but direct buffs are dearly needed.
However, with the immense backlash from the Valorant community surrounding the drastic Viper nerfs last patch, we may see the dev team return some power to her. Her current inability to reposition her smoke orb severely hampers her solo Controller viability, shoehorning her to double Controller compositions. Many players feel this limits strategic diversity and argue for buffing “weaker” Controllers instead of solely nerfing Viper.
It’s worth noting that, while Patch 8.09 might be light on gameplay changes, official sources have confirmed Patch 8.11 will focus heavily on agent balancing and map rotations, with Duelists slated for the biggest changes and Viper receiving another tweak.
We'll keep this article updated with any official information regarding Patch 8.09, so stay tuned!

Scottish troublemaker Clove, the latest Controller Agent to join Valorant, stormed onto the scene during the Masters Madrid finals. Now, Riot Games has another exciting reveal planned: Valorant's upcoming map will be revealed at Masters Shanghai!
Masters Shanghai, the second major international competition of the VCT 2024 season, kicks off very soon. With Episode 8 Act 3 arriving alongside the Mystbloom Bundle, players have plenty to look forward to.
New Valorant Map To Be Revealed at Masters Shanghai
Excitement is brewing in the Valorant community as the recent trailer for Episode 8 Act 3 ended with a note from Riot confirming that the new map will be revealed at Masters Shanghai. VCT Masters Shanghai will be taking place from May 23 to June 9. Much like Clove's reveal, we can expect the new map to be showcased during the finals!
However, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a new map joining the map pool. Riot is known for dropping clues about future content through Battle Pass cosmetics, often weaving elements of the game's lore. Keen-eyed players spotted a potential hint in an Episode 8 Act 2 player card titled "Underneath it all." The image depicts what appears to be the ruins of a massive assembly building bathed in light from a hole above. It also shows a figure leaping between cliffs, though their identity remains unclear.
The last map, the Los Angeles-inspired Sunset, was released in August 2023. This ended a seven-month gap in terms of new content for the main modes of Valorant aside from new Agents since Lotus' release in January. Following this pattern, a new map is certainly overdue!
With each Valorant map offering a unique theme and setting, an underground map seems like a perfect fit to diversify the current pool and introduce fresh strategic challenges. However, it's important to remember that this is speculation. We'll have to wait for further announcements or hints from Riot to confirm the details of the upcoming map so stay tuned!

Valorant 8.08 Patch Notes Brings MAJOR Viper Nerfs
As Episode 8 Act 3 arrives and the highly anticipated Mystbloom Bundle drops, Patch 8.08 ensures the last Act starts with a bang, introducing significant balance changes to iconic agents Viper and Cypher.
Viper's strength has grown as players have mastered her abilities, making her a dominant force with a constant presence in pro play. This update aims to solidify Viper's weaknesses compared to other Controllers. Now, players will need to commit more strategically to smoke placements while managing shorter smoke durations.
With that said, let's dive right into what we can expect from Valorant Patch 8.08!
Valorant Patch 8.08 Release Date
After adjustments to PBE testing, Patch 8.08 is set to launch on April 30, 2024 at around 7:00 pm EDT | 1:00 am BST, with specific times varying by region.
Viper and Cypher Receive Nerfs in Patch 8.08
The dev team acknowledges that Viper has become too powerful in both ranked and professional play. Patch 8.08 aims to bring her in line without compromising her unique role as a Controller and Sentinel hybrid.
Encouraging better fuel management, players can expect less overall smoke uptime, but the ability to reactivate them sooner. Additionally, you can no longer re-position her Poison Cloud after the buy phase, forcing more strategic placement. Her Snake Bite only has one charge, but is now guaranteed to kill enemies who stay in it.
On the other hand, Cypher's buffs in Patch 7.09 made him the go-to Sentinel on specific maps due to his exceptional stalling power. To address this, Patch 8.08 increases the reset time for triggered tripwires and reduces the slow duration they inflict. Moreover, enemies will now hear an audio cue when Cypher's camera is watching them, making it easier to avoid getting caught off guard.

Valorant's Next Controller Agent's Name, Design & More Leaked!
After weeks of tantalising teasers and leaks, the gender and name of the next agent to join Valorant's ranks have just been revealed, sparking excitement throughout the community! Episode 8 Act 2 has brought forth a fresh Battle Pass, a new skin line, and highly anticipated updates to Premier. However, it's the leaks surrounding Agent 25, Valorant's upcoming Controller agent, that has truly captured the attention of players.
While exciting teasers were scattered throughout Valorant's maps, anticipation reached a fever pitch thanks to credible leakers who unveiled further details about the agent just before their imminent release!
Valorant's next agent is a Controller and she's named "Clove"
Riot Games continues to expand the lore of Valorant, often teasing details for upcoming content through "messages" exchanged between the current roster of agents, offering insights into the game's world. A recent leak about Agent 25, originally in German and translated by Catoquest on X via ValorantLeaksEN, revealed a message from Deadlock to Brimstone: "Omen delivered Clove as promised. She's smart, intuitive, and guaranteed to be fearless."
Shortly after, details regarding Clove's gender and design emerged. Content creator ChowZ shared a description that paints a vivid picture: “Cloaked in a pink jacket, she flits through the fray, Look like a Scotland's girl with a mischievous grin, One moment she's dies, the next she's alive, Vanishing in a flash, a phantom in the chase, Ever the strategist, CONTROL is her domain.”
From that description, we can expect Clove to be a Scottish Controller with a mischievous personality and a fondness for pink. In addition to her role as a Controller, she possesses the ability to self-revive. Following in the footsteps of Sage and Phoenix, the prospect of another agent with this capability is exciting, opening the doors to countless gameplay opportunities.
The community had long hoped for some 'girly' representation, with many fans creating elaborate fan projects of pink versions of weapon skins, which have garnered significant attention on social media. When Clove's player card showcased a departure from Valorant's typically darker and grittier aesthetic, opting instead for a lighter and softer colour scheme with shades of purples and pinks, adorned with glowing butterflies, players were ecstatic. From what's been revealed, Clove appears to embody everything the community had hoped for!
While the exact release date for Clove remains undisclosed, the recent State of the Agents article for March implies that she won't debut alongside Episode 8 Act 2, deviating from the typical pattern of agents releasing with new Episodes or Acts. Instead, Clove is anticipated to arrive later this month, with an official reveal scheduled during a stream at the Masters Madrid Grand Finals on 24 March 2024.
As the first Agent of the year and the sixth Controller in the game, Clove will expand Valorant's roster to 24 Agents, following the arrivals of Gekko (Initiator), Deadlock (Sentinel), and Iso (Duelist) in 2023. With the recent leaks stirring excitement, the Valorant community eagerly awaits the opportunity to try her out!

Valorant Sovereign 2.0 Bundle: 5 new skins leaked!
Recent leaks point to the arrival of the Sovereign 2.0 bundle in Valorant, marking the much-anticipated return of the dazzling Sovereign skin collection! This bundle will include skins for the Frenzy, Judge, Phantom, Odin, and a melee weapon.
The original Sovereign collection garnered immense popularity upon its release, thanks to its stunning design and crisp sound effects. Now, the Sovereign 2.0 bundle is poised to captivate the Valorant community with the same brilliance as its predecessor!
Valorant Sovereign 2.0 bundle skins and cosmetics
According to information revealed by Valorant data miner floxay, the Sovereign 2.0 skin bundle is rumoured to feature skins for the Frenzy, Judge, Phantom, Odin, and a melee. The original Sovereign collection, especially the iconic Sovereign Sword, remains a fan favourite, leaving many eager to see what this iteration will offer.
While details are unconfirmed, the bundle is expected to maintain the original's signature white-gold design and include additional cosmetics like a gun buddy, player cards, sprays, a new finisher, and unique kill audio.
Valorant Sovereign 2.0 bundle price
Speculated to be a Premium bundle like its predecessor, the anticipated price for the entire Sovereign 2.0 bundle is 7100 Valorant Points. The melee weapon on its own is expected to be around 3550 VP, and individual weapon skins should be priced at 1775 VP each.
Valorant Sovereign 2.0 bundle potential release date
Leaks suggest that the Sovereign 2.0 skin bundle is set to arrive in the next Act, around late April or early May, following the end of the current Primordium skin bundle rotation on 26 March 2023. However, it's important to note that this information is based on leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement from Riot is made!
Valorant's Art Lead, Sean Marino, previously revealed the inspiration behind the Sovereign skinline's theme. The team envisioned a kingdom ruled by a bird-like race, with the Sovereign weapons used by their royal guard. This explains the prominent wing motif adorning the guns and sword.
This concept also led to the creation of the popular Forsaken skinline, which serves as a thematic counterpoint to Sovereign with its contrasting, darker colour scheme.
That's everything we know about Valorant's upcoming Sovereign 2.0 skin bundle. We will update this article with more information as it becomes available, so stay tuned!

Valorant Episode 8 Act 2 release date
Episode 8 Act 1 kicks off on 5 March 2024, at around 12am GMT | 7pm ET, with exact times varying by region. Expect a few hours of server downtime and disabled ranked queues before the update.
Valorant Episode 8 Act 2 Battle Pass
Each new Valorant Act brings a fresh Battle Pass, and Act 2 is no exception. This Battle Pass introduces three unique skin lines: Retrowave, Shellspire, and Aquatica, alongside Playercards, sprays, and Gunbuddies. Many players are particularly eager to get their hands on the "UWU" spray and the "Radiant Skincare" player card.
Currently, we know the Retrowave line includes skins for the Sheriff and Operator. Shellspire features Phantom and melee skins, while Aquatica brings an Outlaw skin. We'll update this information as more details are released.
The Battle Pass remains priced at 1000 Valorant Points. As usual, players can unlock rewards by playing games and completing challenges to earn XP and reach higher tiers.
Valorant Episode 8 Act 2 new skinline: Primordium Collection
Get ready to unleash ancient fury with the Primordium Collection, Valorant's newest skinline. Inspired by beings of lava and chaos, these weapons heat up visually as players fire, and cool down with a distinct animation. This collection also boasts a new dual sword melee archetype with unique attack, running, and equip animations, named the Blades of Primordia.
The Primordium Collection will feature a finisher easter egg that transports players to another world per finisher variant, as well as custom firing sounds. Weapons included in the Primordium Collection are the Vandal, Phantom, Spectre, Shorty and the new dual-wielding melee weapon.
Valorant Episode 8 Act 2: Agent 25
Leaks emerged in late 2023 suggesting a new Agent, codenamed "Smoke Dancer", might arrive in Episode 8 Act 2. This hints at the introduction of a new Controller agent.
It’s been confirmed that Agent 25 won't arrive with the launch of Act 2 but is expected later this month, and will be revealed in a stream at the Masters Madrid Grand Finals on 24 March 2024.
Smoke Dancer's leaked player card departs from Valorant's usual style, featuring a lighter and softer colour palette with purples, pinks, butterflies, and rounded edges.
Her abilities remain shrouded in mystery, but leaks suggest they might be themed around pink or purple hues. Speculation points towards smokes that disorient or even hypnotise enemies who pass through them.
Valorant Episode 8 Act 2 Premier updates
The popular game mode, Premier, offers the same in-game rules as Ranked, but with a tournament format, map pick/ban phases, and timeouts, mirroring the pro scene. It can even act as a bridge between casual players and the professional scene. Riot aims to give Premier some updates in Episode 8 Act 2, focusing on streamlining the player experience and increasing accessibility.
Here’s what’s new:
- Rematch protection: No more facing the same opponent twice in a stage
- Playoff Results: Standings will now show playoff results as those matches finish
- No more enrollment: Teams can now be created and participate at any point during the stage
- Immediate division placement: You’ll now see your Provisional Division immediately after Team Creation, adjusting with roster or zone changes before locking after your first match
- Zone flexibility: You can now change your Zone any time before your first match of the Stage
This covers everything currently known about Episode 8 Act 2. We will update this article with more information as it becomes available, so stay tuned!

The spray acts as a decorative accessory, adding visual flair to the game without affecting the overall gameplay. It functions as an overlay or temporary graffiti that is visible to all players participating in the match.

Valorant Patch 8.04 Preview: Expected release date & potential balance changes
It hasn't been long since Valorant Patch 8.03 went live and introduced some huge buffs to Chamber. However, Valorant players are already looking forward to the next patch and what changes it might bring.
We expect this patch to introduce some agent nerfs and buffs, fix plenty of bugs the community has been complaining about, and perhaps even introduce some map changes.
So let's find out what we can expect from the Valorant Patch 8.04.
Valorant Patch 8.04 expected release date
Unfortunately, we still don't know exactly when Patch 8.04 will go live, as that date still hasn't been revealed by Riot Games. However, since Valorant normally has a 15-day break between patches, we expect Patch 8.04 to launch around Wednesday, 7 March.
Valorant Patch 8.04 potential balance changes
As mentioned above, we expect Valorant Patch 8.04 to introduce some balance changes, probably more than the ones added in Patch 8.03. This time, we think Harbor will receive some buffs, as he is the least-picked agent in the game, and also has the lowest win rate.
Breach is also likely to get buffs in Patch 8.04, as the once-dominant Initiator has fallen from his throne and is just a shadow of himself. With a 49% win rate and just a 1.67% pick rate, it's clear Breach needs to get buffed.
Chamber might find itself on the opposite side, as the buffs he received in Valorant Patch 8.03 made him a much stronger agent, perhaps even too strong. If it was up to the community Chamber would probably get nerfed just one patch after being buffed, but we don't think that will happen.
We will update this article regularly with any official information about Patch 8.04 that is made available, so make sure to bookmark it.
