CAPCOM successfully misled Summer Game Fest 2026 viewers for the first minute or so of the Resident Evil Veronica trailer, which was in first-person view and didn't seem at all like the long-awaited Code Veronica remake. Given that Resident Evil Requiem introduced the option to choose between first-person and third-person, though, fans started wondering if this would be possible in Veronica as well. An elderly woman lets her in, and explains that the person’s brother is a bit messy. As the person looks around, the apparently landlord leaves. Someone knocks. the unknown individual checks the peephole and doesn’t initially see anyone. After a jumpscare, we see the person was Claire Redfield, searching for her brother Chris, all along.
