The 50 best games of 2025, ranked

It's been another strange, difficult, and yet somehow also brilliant year for video games in 2025. Triple-A releases have been sparse again, compared to the boom times of old, with a great big GTA 6-shaped hole left in the final few months of the year. And yet once again, every gap left by the established order has been filled twice over with something brilliantly new.

Kirby Is at Kura Sushi, Pokemon Are at Kung Fu Tea

Two Nintendo properties are at two different restaurants in the US right now. If someone heads to Kung Fu Tea, they can get drinks and a straw cap based on Pokemon: Legends Z-A through January 31, 2026, while supplies last. Should people head to a Kura Sushi location until January 31, 2026, again while supplies last, they could get Kirby and Waddle Dee-themed sushi and merchandise.

In the case of Kung Fu Tea, there are three kinds of drinks, cups based on Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. It is also possible to get a straw cap that looks like Pikachu with your purchase. Each drink is inspired by locations and elements of the game, as well as characters So the Mega Evolution Matcha with brown sugar boba comes in a Chikorita cup, the Prism Tower Punch with aloe jelly, curacao, and lemonade is tied to Totodile, and the Z-A Royale Milk Tea features coconut, passionfruit, green tea, and honey boba. It is possible to order all of them from locations via the website.

Here’s the official art for that promotion:

With Kura Sushi, there are both Kirby and Waddle Dee types of sushi, giveaways for a cup set and blanket, and Bikkura Pon Prizes given away randomly for every 15 plates of sushi. Both the Kirby and Waddle Dee options have tamagoyaki (egg) as their base and seem to feature avocado, with one being the Kirby Dreamy Crunchy Roll and the other the Waddle Dee Feisty Feast Roll. You get the cups if you have the Kura Sushi Rewards app, a QR code, and a receipt showing you spent $85 to get the cups now. The blanket is the $85 reward available after January 14, 2026.

Here’s how those items look:

Pokemon Legends: Z-A DLC ‘Mega Dimension’ Gets New Mega Lucario Z Trailer

Publisher The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak have revealed a new trailer for  Pokemon Legends: Z-A. The trailer reveals the Mega-Evolved Pokemon Mega Lucario Z who will be included in the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A.  Pokemon Legends: Z-A DLC Mega Dimension will launch on December 10. It will cost $29.99. The DLC will include the new Hyperspace Luminose, Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur, an extra side mission, and more.

The Pokemon’s details:

Mega Lucario Z

Category: Aura Pokemon

Type: Fighting/Steel

Height: 4’3″ (1.3 m)

Weight: 108.9 lbs. (49.4 kg)

A newly discovered form of Lucario, Mega Lucario Z was determined to be a Mega Evolution based on how its form changes through exposure to a Mega Stone and its increase in power far outshining that of an average Lucario.

The long fur around Mega Lucario Z’s head and waist, as well as its fan-shaped tail, make it difficult to get a full view of Mega Lucario Z’s powerful movements. In close combat, this can work to visually disorient opponents. Areas of its body, such as the backs of its hands and its shins, have been hardened with steel energy—allowing it to deliver powerful blows by concentrating its strength precisely into these hardened parts.

Z Mega Evolutions, such as Mega Lucario Z, need less time to fire off moves but burn through Mega Power very quickly, making them less suited for long battles but a good option when trying to settle matches as fast as possible.

While Mega Lucario, the Mega Evolution of Lucario, appears in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the newly discovered Mega Lucario Z will appear in the downloadable content “Mega Dimension.”

Extra Side Mission Now Available

Starting today, Trainers can receive a Mewtwonite X stone and a Mewtwonite Y stone through the Mystery Gift feature in Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Once the player receives the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y stones, Mewtwo’s extra side mission will become available. It appears heading to Lysandre Cafe and venturing into the deepest areas of Lysandre Labs may cause some systems to reactivate in response to the Mega Stones, and beating this side mission will allow you to add the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo to your team.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Electric-type Tier List

8. Listopad 2025 v 12:38

Pokemon Legends Z-Ahas changed many of its core mechanics, and combat is the most notorious change. So if trainers are looking for the best Electric-type Pokemon for their teams, they should know that the meta has suffered a lot of alterations, the biggest of all being the disappearance of Abilities. With the new combat system to consider, it is hard to really know the utility of a type that has always been characterized by its fast and deadly attacks, and with moves like Thunder becoming easy to dodge, building an Electric-type has never been so hard.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Reveals Mega Dimension DLC Release Date with a Trailer Full of Surprises

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle Mega Stone Bug Confirmed

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle Mega Stone Bug Confirmed

The Japanese social media account for the Pokemon series confirmed Nintendo and Game Freak are aware of a Pokemon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle bug that might keep someone from getting the Mega Stone they rightfully earned from hitting a certain tier. The account first acknowledged the issue the evening of November 6, 2025, then followed up confirming it is still under investigation on November 7, 2025.

The issue some Pokemon Legends: Z-A players are experiencing involves the Mega Stones being given away in Season 2 of the online Ranked Battle mode. If we compete, we should get Greninjite for Greninja after reaching Rank Y, then Delphoxite for Delphox after getting to Rank S. However, reports came in that stated people didn’t get the rightful rewards for their tier. The second part of the statement online did note that people who weren’t able to get the Mega Stones as a result of the bug will get another chance. However, it didn’t note how yet.

This comes after a patch that made it easier to get the Mega Stone rewards from the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle. During Season 1, someone had to get to Rank K in order to get Greninjite. As a result, Game Freak adjusted that for Season 2 and made it possible to get that Greninja Mega Stone again at a lower tier.

We do know what to expect in the future for at least one upcoming Mega Stone Ranked Battle reward. Chesnaught’s Chesnaughtite will be doled out in Season 3.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is available for the Switch and Switch 2, and Ranked Battle Season 2 will end on November 26, 2025.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC Release Date Announced

Publisher The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak announced that the Pokemon Legends: Z-A DLC Mega Dimension will launch on December 10. It will cost $29.99. The DLC will include the new Hyperspace Luminose, Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur, an extra side mission, and more. A new trailer for the DLC was also released.

The game’s details:

Venturing into Hyperspace Lumiose

In Pokemon Legends: Z-A “Mega Dimension,” Trainers will revisit Lumiose as spatial distortions begin to form around the city. Donut chef Ansha and her companion, the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa, will guide players as they explore the mysterious dimension known as Hyperspace Lumiose. This not-quite Lumiose City is home to newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokemon and other Pokemon not usually found in Lumiose, some of which can exceed the normal limit of Lv. 100 with hyperspace levels.

Hoopa’s powers are awakened when it receives one of Ansha’s donuts, transforming the distortions into portals to hyperspace. Ansha uses Berries to create various kinds of donuts that grant different effects in hyperspace, such as powering up your Pokemon. She can also use more potent Hyperspace Berries, which are useful for taking on the high-level Pokemon in Hyperspace Lumiose.

Trainers will be joined by new allies such as Korrina, a successor to a line of Mega Evolution gurus determined to encounter every Mega-Evolved Pokemon. Together with Team MZ, players will explore Hyperspace Lumiose, uncover its secrets, and tackle the strange events befalling Lumiose City.

Newly Discovered Mega-Evolved Pokemon

Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur will make their debut in Pokemon Legends: Z-A “Mega Dimension.”

When Chimecho Mega Evolves, six smaller copies appear and flutter endlessly, even when no wind is blowing. When Chimecho cries, the echoes of its copies overlap and resonate, creating an intense sound-wave attack that can overwhelm any opponent.

Baxcalibur becomes even more formidable thanks to Mega Evolution, generating more ice energy and wielding a back blade that has grown larger and more powerful. With the sheer weight of this blade, it can cleave or smash nearly anything in its path. Players can obtain the Mega Stone needed to evolve Baxcalibur from the Z-A Battle Club as a reward for advancing in online Ranked Battles.

Extra Side Mission Now Available to Get Mythical Pokemon Diancie in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Beginning Thursday, November 6, players can claim a Diancite Stone through the Mystery Gift feature[4] in the Pokemon Legends: Z-A base game. This Diancite stone unlocks an opportunity to encounter and catch the Jewel Pokemon Diancie through an extra side mission titled “Shine Bright like a Gemstone.”

Once Trainers have claimed their Diancite via Mystery Gift, they can visit the Looker Bureau, where Mimi the Espurr—Emma’s partner Pokemon—will take a special interest in the Mega Stone, setting an extra side mission in motion. Completing this mission allows players to add Diancie to their team, then use the Diancite stone to Mega Evolve it into Mega Diancie, unveiling its radiant Mega Evolution in battle.
