Netflix has given us our best look yet at its upcoming animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

The show is scheduled to make its debut on the streaming service this autumn, and features the vocal talents of the MCU's Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft. It's all set to take place after the events of the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy, which comprised Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

"Following the events of the Survivor Trilogy, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures," reads the official blurb. "But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artefact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection."

I was following this course using UE5 version 5.4.2 and building a "Handle Rotation" graph for a door that looks like this: I encountered this problem: setting the Interp Speed to anything but 0 makes the Return Value wrong. I mean that, as I understand FInterp, it should eventually return the Target value, but in my case interp speed just makes the value wrong. For example (Current = 0, Target = 90, Delta Time = World Delta Seconds, Interp Speed = 3) the return value of this is equal to 0.375.

I used event tick to set the delta time but it changes nothing.

Just setting the speed to 0 makes it work, but that is the problem, I want smooth rotation for my door.

Batman is one of the most iconic superheroes in comics, and one of the most complex, with almost a century of accrued lore behind him by this point. With that Marianas Trench of mythology to explore, adaptations have always made perfect sense. From early film serials to TV shows and onwards, we live in a world where Batman is always being remade and reimagined by someone.

One of the most successful reimaginings is Batman: The Animated Series, created by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski. In stark skyscraper canyons dropping away beneath menacing red skies, this cartoon introduced a new generation of viewers to Batman and his rogue's gallery. The art was stellar, as was the noir-infused storytelling, but the casting was just as important. Here was Mark Hamill as the Joker, and the late Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn. And holding it all together was Kevin Conroy, stern and perfectly unknowable, and bringing just the slightest trace of grim humour, as Batman.

I've been thinking about Conroy a lot these past few days. A fan favourite, his death in 2022 devastated the community, and it underlined something that had been felt for a long time: here was truly a Batman for the ages. This summer has brought news of a new Batman game, Batman Arkham Shadow, with Roger Craig Smith returning to the character after his turn in Batman: Arkham Origins. New Arkham games are always welcome, and I'm sure Smith will do a great job. But it's been a perfect opportunity for me to think of Conroy again and be thankful for what he brought to the role, regardless of the medium.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time's troubled remake has resurfaced during tonight's Ubisoft Forward showcase with the news it'll finally be arriving in 2026, some six years after it was initially revealed. More happily, Price of Persia: The Lost Crown and The Rogue Prince of Persia both have new updates launching today.

Ubisoft revealed it was remaking Sands of Time back in September 2020, when it was originally due to launch the following January. However, following a less than positive reception to its debut trailer, Ubisoft announced the first of several delays for the project, eventually moving it from original developers Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai to Ubisoft Montreal.

When we last heard from the remake at the end of 2023, Ubisoft announced it had "passed an important internal milestone", but things didn't sound especially far along given the publisher had revealed the rebooted project was still in the "conception" phase in May. A year on, it seems the Sands of Time remake still isn't a state that Ubisoft is confident to show; its re-appearance during tonight's showcase was anticlimactic to say the least, taking the form of a 30-second teaser trailer showing... a candle. We did, at least, get an updated release window, with Ubisoft confirming the remake is now targeting a 2026 launch.

Hayley Atwell - known for her role as Peggy Carter in numerous Marvel projects - is set to voice Lara Croft in Netflix's upcoming Tomb Raider animation. While this has been known for a while now, we hadn't heard how the actress sounds in her new part. Until now.

In a sizzle reel shared by Netflix to promote the various animated shows on the streaming service, we finally hear Atwell's Lara speak. The show is set to take place after the events of the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy, which comprised Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

These games rebooted the Tomb Raider series, and served as an origin story for Lara. As such, this Lara was less assured than the Lara we were first introduced to back in the 90s. However, judging by the most recent Netflix trailer, Atwell is bringing back some of that iconic confidence to the character. You can check it out for yourself below, at around the 40 seconds mark.

How to put animation correctly from one character into another in Unreal Engine 5 using retargeting? Root problem

So I imported animation from Maximo into Unreal Engine 5 but my character is not moving properly in running slide animation. I used retarget Root option and now my character's animation is good but I had to retarget Root on character pelvis to make it work. Right now the problem is that when character is finished with slide animation he is going back to his root position while I want him to stay on the place where animation is over. Here are the pictures to make it easier for you:

If you're a fan of Jordans, the 11, and its heritage, then you're in luck! You can pick up the incredibly retro Air Jordan 11 "Gratitude" colorway below its regular retail price today.

At StockX, pairs of these black and white high-tops are available up to $32 below their retail price, depending on your size. The sneaker deal gets even better if you're from the UK though, as pairs are available for as little as £155, making it a great time to invest if you've been itching to add this release to your collection.

Check out the "Gratitude" Jordan 11

The "Gratitude" 11 is a tribute to the rich legacy of the Jordan brand, celebrating its storied heritage with a design that pays homage to the renowned "Defining Moments" series. This iteration, however, reintroduces the classic Jordan 11 silhouette with a modern twist, replacing the usual mesh upper with leather for an enhanced look and feel. The high-cut patent leather overlays, paired with a sleek white midsole and a semi-translucent rubber outsole, create a clean, sophisticated design that has remained timeless over the years.

Adding to the timelessness are metallic gold details, including the embossed Jumpman logo on the lateral ankle and the iconic "23" on the heels. These elements echo the legacy of Michael Jordan and make it a standout Air Jordan for fans of basketball or the sneaker collection to cherish by adding to their collection.

If you fall into any of these camps, then make sure you check it out using the link below as you might just find a pair available below its regular retail price.

There are a lot of great basketball shoes out there from a variety of different brands. While adidas is a top contender, Nike dominates the NBA scene, boasting endorsements from stars like LeBron James alongside having numerous Jordan athletes on its roster. This means it makes a lot of sneakers, so choosing the best Nike basketball shoes can be a daunting task if you're in the market for a new pair—that's where our list comes in.

We've collated some of the best basketball shoes Nike has to offer and put our top picks into one comprehensive list, taking into account price, reviews, and, of course, features and technology they offer. These features include the likes of Nike Air Zoom units that can help provide energy during take-off, and unique traction patterns that provide grip no matter what direction you're traveling.

That's only the start of it, as each basketball shoe Nike creates is tailored to different needs and areas of the game, which we help break down in each description below to make finding the right sneakers for you that little bit easier. Let's begin...

Best basketball shoes from Nike

  1. Nike LeBron XXI - the best choice for most people
  2. Nike Precision 7 - best budget pick
  3. Nike Ja 1 - a top choice for point guards
  4. Nike KD16 - an excellent alternative for forwards
  5. Nike G.T. Jump 2 - the best option for ankle support

1. Nike LeBron XXI

Best Nike basketball shoe overall

Buy a pair of Nike LeBron XXIs

Kicking things off with the Nike LeBron XXI makes a lot of sense seeing as it's made for one of the greatest basketball players of all time in "The King" himself.

Part of what makes the shoes so great is the fact they're inspired by a shell, with an exposed heel and a quilted, perforated foam tongue providing a plush feel. They feature a lightweight mesh upper too, reinforced with a 360-degree zonal cabling system to ensure optimal containment and stability as you fly up the court.

The shoes include Air Zoom units in the heel and forefoot as well for supportive landings and a propulsive feel, paired with soft, springy foam for added comfort. The dimensional mesh upper, with zonal perforations and ventilation, mimics shell veining to improve breathability, while a strong, top-loaded plastic plate provides stability and added snap during takeoff.

The Nike LeBron XXI really is an excellent basketball shoe, featuring all the necessary technology to make it a well-rounded choice for the court, regardless of whether you're a seasoned baller or someone just starting their basketball journey.

Reasons to buy:

  • It's lightweight but supportive thanks to Nike's cable system
  • Air Zoom units add comfort to the ride
  • The top-loaded plate gives better snap during take-off

2. Nike Precision 7

Best budget Nike basketball shoe

Buy a pair of Nike Precision 7s

Buying new shoes for any sport can be expensive when you look at the absolute top end of the scale. In the case of the Nike Precision 7 though, you're looking at one of the best budget basketball shoes Nike has to offer.

They are still not the absolute cheapest sneakers you can buy, but they're pretty good value for money considering they're designed to deliver optimal performance and comfort on the court. For instance, you get plush foam on the collar and tongue for enhanced comfort around the ankle and over the top of the foot, and a breathable mesh upper to keep your feet cool and secure throughout an entire game.

In addition to their comfort, the Nike Precision 7 shoes offer exceptional support and traction. The sculpted foam midsole provides a soft yet supportive cushioning that accommodates the nonstop movements of the game, while the herringbone traction on the outsole adds multidirectional grip, ideal for players who rely on their quickness and cutting ability. The rubber wrapping up the sides of the forefoot then enhances traction around the edges, and the strategically positioned laces and midfoot webbing loops keep your feet securely in place.

As they're lower-cut, the shoes offer increased ankle mobility as well, and a visible cutout in the foam helps to reduce weight, making them a lightweight and agile choice for any basketball player.

Reasons to buy:

  • It's one of the cheapest Nike basketball shoes you can buy
  • It is packed with foam for superior comfort on the court
  • Each shoe is cleverly designed to keep weight to a minimum

3. Nike Ja 1

Best Nike basketball shoe for guards

Buy a pair of Nike Ja 1s

Ja Morant is one of the best guards in the NBA which, of course, comes down to his skill first and foremost. However, his sneakers play a part in his success, hence the inclusion of his signature Ja 1 sneakers here.

Like many Nike basketball shoes, the forefoot features an Air Zoom unit that provides increased responsiveness and energy returns, allowing you to sky higher and move faster on the court. You get plush cushioning in the midsole too, ensuring a more comfortable landing during defensive and offensive plays, which also helps to protect your joints in the process.

To ensure stability and control during quick movements, the Nike Ja 1 features a containment system and a forefoot strap, helping keep your ankle and heel 'locked-in'. This support is crucial when changing directions at high speeds or guarding agile opponents, while the lightweight, breathable upper helps to keep feet cool throughout a game.

Additionally, the shoes feature raised foam collars that add extra ankle support for a more secure and comfortable fit that can, ultimately, help you perform at your best.

Reasons to buy:

  • Tailor-made for one of the best guards in the NBA
  • The raised foam collar helps protect your ankles
  • Features an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot for added responsiveness

4. Nike KD16

Best Nike basketball shoe for forwards

Buy a pair of Nike KD16s

As a forward like Kevin Durant, you need a set of sneakers capable of withstanding the rigors of covering the court across all four quarters. Introducing, then, Nike and Durant's KD16.

Drawing inspiration from the previous model, the KD15, the KD16 includes a bottom-loaded forefoot Zoom Air unit, delivering extra pop and snappiness at high speeds to cover the ground with ease. You get responsive full-length foam too, ensuring a soft, comfortable ride underfoot, while grooves and ridges in the sole offer multidirectional traction and an enhanced court feel. Nike has also included what it refers to as a 'stiff piece' under the arch that contributes to stability and smoother heel-to-toe transitions.

The upper of the KD16 is made from multilayer lightweight mesh, offering a broken-in feel from the first wear. However, you get added thickness in strategic areas to minimize small movements, keeping the foot securely in place for added stability and to help prevent injury.

In short, the KD16 has all the tools needed to help you succeed as a forward, even if your skills don't quite match Durants' just yet.

Reasons to buy:

  • Designed for covering the court quickly with responsive Air units
  • The thicker upper sections help to contain your feet
  • They can provide a smooth heel-to-toe transition with the stiffer arch

5. Nike G.T. Jump 2

Best Nike basketball shoe for ankle support

Buy a pair of Nike G.T. Jump 2s

As the name suggests, the Nike G.T. Jump 2 is a sneaker designed to help you fly, but it's actually the higher collar we're interested in because it can provide your ankles with the extra support they need if you're intent on maximizing your protection.

We also have to talk about the Zoom Air units once again though, which are strategically placed in the bottom layer of the upper and forefoot to give greater energy returns. Complemented by a jump plate wrapped in durable rubber, the G.T. Jump 2 offers enhanced support and resilience alongside Nike React foam in the heel for superior cushioning and comfort, absorbing impact during sudden and powerful landings.

The molded heel's engineered curve further enhances energy absorption, while the heel and collar design offers lightweight containment and precise foot movement management. Nike has also given the shoes an exoskeleton look and feel thanks to a clever use of negative space to help maintain lightness as well.

What's more, the shoes have a data-informed herringbone traction pattern that can deliver exceptional grip, with linear and lateral lines providing multidirectional traction to minimize slipping. This, alongside everything else, helps make the Nike G.T. Jump 2 the ultimate choice for basketball players seeking agility, support, and a competitive edge on the court

Reasons to buy:

  • The higher collar adds support around your ankles
  • The shoes feature jump plates to give a greater spring during takeoff.
  • You get a data-informed herringbone traction pattern underneath

The AC game set in feudal Japan is called Assassins Creed Shadows, may have leaked its own release date

A while back Ubisoft revealed about a billion Assassin's Creed projects. The first of these to leap into the carefully placed haystack of release was Mirage, which I liked. Up next, it seems, is the artist formally known as Assassin's Creed: Codename Red. All we knew about red was that it would be set in feudal Japan, something fans have been clamouring for for literal years. Now we know that it's an AC game set in feudal Japan called Assassin's Creed Shadows, and it's getting an "official cinematic world premiere trailer" debut on YouTube tomorrow, at 5pm BST.

Also, because this sort of thing seems to always happen with Ubi, the placeholder text for said YouTube premiere might have accidentally leaked the release date for the game as November 15, 2024.

There is no other game quite like Devil Daggers. Created by Sorath and originally launched in 2016, Devil Daggers is a contest of skill and perseverance, its steadily increasing difficulty calling to mind Gears of War's horde mode, its bullet hell design offering an FPS game spin on shmups like Ikaruga or Battle Garegga, and its infernal visuals taking notes from Doom or Quake. It's a tremendous work, endlessly compelling and, best of all, available for just under $3 USD right now.

How to make AI Character move towards Actor Object

I have in my scene an AI Character and Actor Object, but the character won't move no matter what I've tried. You can see the current code with debug statements. I'm not sure what I'm missing because I'm new to this, but I hope it's simple.

Limited git provider and large assets

I am facing a problem with my UE5 project: I am hitting the maximum amount of space my current account allows for git, including LFS.

Some assets are very large, so I cannot use anymore my git provider, unless I ramp up my account pricing tier... which I am unable to afford at the moment.

So, how could I still manage large assets so that they reside outside of the repo?

The target is still be able to collaborate through git... I am dreaming of Unreal, upon cloning/pulling asking "You have assets that need to be downloaded", but my hopes are not high.

A manual solution would also be ok, but I am wary of putting asset names in the README and adding them, I am afraid this would generate conflicts. A related question does not actually answer this, but it's a good start.

I love a spot of virtual tourism, me. During the pandemic, I would scratch my travelling itches with some nice big sessions on Google Earth VR, where I would retrace my steps from holidays of old or explore new places I've always wanted to go.But those little imaginary expeditions pale in comparison to being able to actually wander around fully realised virtual worlds as a tourist, which is basically exactly what I did in this week's VR Corner thanks to a brand new update for Luke Ross' REAL VR

I love a spot of virtual tourism, me. During the pandemic, I would scratch my travelling itches with some nice big sessions on Google Earth VR, where I would retrace my steps from holidays of old or explore new places I've always wanted to go.

But those little imaginary expeditions pale in comparison to being able to actually wander around fully realised virtual worlds as a tourist, which is basically exactly what I did in this week's VR Corner thanks to a brand new update for Luke Ross' REAL VR mod. By the way, REAL stands for 'Reality Enhancement Augmentation Layer' if you've ever wondered!

I've featured plenty of Luke's mods on VR Corner before, but my favourite ones of his are always the ones with open-worlds that feel almost like real places. Thanks to the level of detail in the Chicago map that Ubisoft built for it's open-world hack-em-up, Watch Dogs, it's easy to imagine that you're really there. There's so much variety to the environments and buildings and so many lovely little details for you to lean towards and inspect. These range from the first person interiors of the game's cars, through to some of the most delicious looking muffins I've ever seen and even Aidan Pearce's teeth!

It's time for another episode of Inside Eurogamer, the podcast that's exclusively for Supporters and which takes you behind the curtains here to understand why we do the work we do, and some of the things we've learnt about doing it. Today we're on trend talking about streaming. I say on trend but I don't think I've been on trend about anything, ever. Fortunately for me, other people have been.

Remember - advert voice - supporting Eurogamer is super easy and not that expensive. For £3/€3/$3 a month (or £30/€30/$30 a year), you get an ad-free website, exclusive articles, this podcast - in which we also answer your questions - and if you're a yearly subscriber, some key giveaways. I'm working on a new one of those right now. End advert.

Today I have Ian Higton and Ed Nightingale with me. Ian's expertise in the area of streaming needs little explanation. He's been one of the faces of Eurogamer video for many years now; he's actually the longest serving member by a couple of years - he ran the channel alone for a while. And as we find out in this podcast, he was right there at the start of streaming on YouTube. Incidentally, if you're interested in Ian's fuller life story, as I like to think of it, check out the dedicated interview podcast he and I recorded as he reached his 10-year anniversary here.
